This station is always clean and the secretary is nice and friendly. I've never been past her so I can't vouch for the rest of the building.

After a few months of listening to Kiss 107, I've concluded the following:…read more1) Kiss 107, while it is known for playing the top mainstream songs, tends to overplay ALL of them. 2) Though the station does have commercial free hours, the end of every other song is greeted by a long, boring, annoying, (need i say more?), you guessed it... commercial. 3) When the station is not playing music or doing a commercial, the DJs seize the opportunity to talk about pointless topics that compliment the pointless pop music of the era (but that's another story...) Anyway, they take in calls from listeners to answer questions like, "Where would you take your first date?" or, like Jordan C. mentioned, "Is your boyfriend cheating?" Honestly, if I had to get first date advice from a radio station, I would be ashamed. Oh, well... How many mainstream music fans would listen to a killjoy like me?

I don't remember which radio station says that they play "all of today's best music," but it…read moredefinitely would make sense if it were WKFS- Kiss 107 FM (107.1). Kiss has been my favorite radio station for a long time--or at least the one I most often list to--as I am more of the radio guy then the person who is a major music fan who knows all these random lesser known bands. I like a little something to drive to or just sit and listen to when I have nothing else to do, that's all. And Kiss plays, more or less, what I want to hear, although they often kill some of the best songs by over playing them. Kiss also has a good line up of DJs beginning with Kiss Mornings (Tim and George 6-10a), followed by Michelle Taylor (10a-3p), Jordan (3-7p), and Hurley (7p-12a) during the week. Each does their music playing thing, but they also have their own blogs up on kisscincinnati.com. The best time to listen to Kiss, however, is Saturday nights from roughly 10:00 p.m. to 1 or 2 a.m. "Club Kiss," as it is called, is led by DJ Sab who plays nothing but great songs, which includes a lot of remixes of the popular songs. There's nothing better to listen to in the car if you are driving home after a fun Saturday night out. Overall, Kiss 107 is a great station and probably my favorite. One kind of annoying thing is that the DJs talk so much about silly stuff like, 'Do you think your boyfriend is cheating?' or Miley Cyrus this, Britney Spears that. Most of its just trash, but it is funny to listen to what the callers have to say. Kiss is also part of the Party in the Park events every other Wednesday this summer at Sawyer Point which are fun if you are 21 and up.

I won tickets and during my call, the DJ/hosts I interacted with were friendly and the receptionist was also nice. As far as the music played on the station, it is usually pretty good. The mix of 80s, 90s, and 00s adult contemporary music is good for most occasions. If you do need to visit the station, try to park in the limited number of visitor spots and not the roundabout or an assigned spot. Do you like being towed? ha ha Fun fact: WREW 94.9 is owned by Hubbard Radio LLC based out of Minneapolis. In 2011, the 17 station deal rang it at 505 million (cash deal). Phew!

See, I have a…read morehuge dislike for terrestrial radio--to me it represents all that is evil about the music industry. Over-played songs by overrated musicians, long commercial breaks, and censorship of radio personalities make FM radio almost unlistenable. The Sound doesn't break the rules or offer up anything original. However, of all the sub-par radio stations in the area, this one at least plays songs that I know the words to. Probably because these "alternative" tunes been played to death, but most are tolerable. On any given day, it's almost guaranteed you' hear Sublime, Greenday, Fall Out Boy, Nirvana, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are trying to appeal to the broadest swath of indie music lovers , from Gen X to Gen Y to Gen Z (don't even know if they're called that, but you know what I mean), yet almost all bands on their playlist come from huge record labels. So much for independent music.

No commercials and the most eclectic selection of music representing a variety of cultures. So exhilarating and a wonderful refreshing oasis. Talented and entertaining all-volunteer on-air personalities. I remember my younger days in Cincinnati, finding this hidden gem at the far left side of my FM radio dial. Reception was spotty at certain parts of the Tri-state, thanks to the wonderful hills the glacial recession left us along the banks of the Ohio River! But, now, reception is loud and clear, courtesy of the internet. Give them a listen, not just once; but, several times throughout the day to get a proper taste of all it has to offer. Expand your horizons a little bit, you just may find some new style of music you like.

I want to tell you about how cool I felt when I got to sit in on two live shows and how much I love several of the d.j.'s. I really want to go back about 3 years to a time when the FCC and the Board of Directors didn't screw everything up and tell you about my two favorite local music programs (now replaced). I still give WAIF five stars for what is is but it is not what it was. Even though I'm personally angry and disappointed, it still is what it is and we're lucky to have it. Tune into 88.3 on your radio dial, pick up your phone and call, enjoy all the public service announcements and love it.

Weird, my fam met his fam and I worked with members of his fam. The original studio was on the West side in Price Hill. I visited. It was in a blue house with a barber chair on the front porch and the Wood spaniel taxidermied in the office on a bookshelf. There was a room full of Scullys for night shows. That may have influenced my geeky professions. The studios moved to Hyde Park, with the children. The studio has moved many times since and doubt the original family is involved. Today they are a generic broadcast profit vacuum. They could easily get to 5 stars with programming. They did originally, as the very early equivalent of commercial radio as college radio. My main issue with this station has been covered quite well so far but I'm going to touch on the insanely annoying morning show (Kidd Chris show). Always desperately reaching to be funny but not the top brass working in there for sure. They will only give a girl event tickets only if she literally allow these goofs to look her up on Facebook and judge her solely on her appearance. Very classy guys! The best part is I've actually seen the 4 fine looking fellows at a couple of shows and let me tell you thank god for the ability to work behind a speaker and microphone where no one can actually see you haha. I agree about the fireworks but wow this station and/or listeners need some evolving or a bit more natural selection to take place. 102.7 sux!! Thank god for technology and pandora and many many more. SMH
