This was a great spot for breakfast. We went in hoping for authentic French crepes, but…read moreunfortunately they didn't serve crepes until later in the morning and we had a train the catch. The quiches though, were incredible. I don't know how they get such a silky texture that I can't seem to replicate at home! The beef mince pie was good, if not a bit messy to eat despite being so small. And the pear tart was excellent, the freshness of the pear coupled with the strong almond flavor was a winning combination.
Taking one star off only because the staff (owners perhaps?) made us feel a little stupid for not speaking French, and because I tried to use Google Translate to ask for the Piz Palu tea (a Swiss specific tea) three times and she kept reading past it - I never ended up with the tea and gave up trying before we had to leave. I don't expect that every person around the world should know English, but I do expect that when using tools like Google Translate, reading the whole text would be polite so you know exactly what is being asked. Montreux is popular for tourism, so I wish we wouldn't have been looked down on in this way.
