I've been to at least three or four other salons in the past year and have not found anyone who…read morehave gotten the exact look or color without it fading or turning yellow to my liking. I know it was achievable because I've had other salon do it perfectly before. I had heard about a recommendation to come here and how wonderful this place was so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! Not only was booking the appointment easy and the person who scheduled it very friendly but I got in the next day. I walked in and was greeted with a big warm smile and shown where to go immediately. I filled out my form it was introduced to the stylist whose name was Mackenzie. She told me that she would also have her Co stylist Savannah helping with her as well. While in there I met at least five other girls and all of them were so personable. I felt like it was just a nice Girls Club and immediately adored all of them. They had me laughing the whole time and talking about interesting things. All of them helped each other out and gave each other advice although every single person's job that I saw including my own turned out amazing! All of their teamwork and positive influence in helping each other out was fantastic to see. Mackenzie went over everything with me and explain what she was doing and even gave me some helpful tips for when I'm at home on things that I asked her about. It took about 5 hours which is about the time that I was expecting but the time flew by so quickly. My hair turned out exactly as I wanted and as her inspiration picture showed. I allowed her to do whatever with my hair in regards to haircut and other things because I told her I trusted her. He made my hair look exactly like I want to do and even give it a fresh cut that actually somehow made my hair look longer. I'm so happy with my haircut and have already thought about planning my next visit with other things to do. Love these girls, the work they did, and how all the other clients loved them also as much too!!

I had a terrible experience at Sherrill's University this past Saturday. Due to extreme price…read moretransparency issues and unprofessional front desk staff. When I arrived, the receptionist was in older black woman with salt and pepper box braids. I did not get her name. She asked what style I wanted and sent me out to buy hair. Before I left, she explicitly told me that the final choice of style would determine the price and which student would be assigned to me. When I returned, I repeatedly explained that I wanted cornrolls. She kept insisting upon two french braids, and I repeatedly corrected her. Saying No I want corn rolls. Finally, she quoted me a price of $70.00 for cornrose and handed me off to Ambrosia, to perform the services. I showed Ambrosia a picture of how I wanted my hair braided. When it came time to pay at the register, the same receptionist initially, typed in $70.00 then bumped the price to $111.00. When I ask why the price had suddenly changed $41.00. She falsely claimed that I asked for an updo or French braid which styles that I did not agree to. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that the instructor had left for the day. In a young man came down and represented himself as management. Instead of listening to the price discrepancy that I was complaining about, he continually overtalked me and told me I had corn rolls. Completely dismissing me because I got cornrolls. To quote one price up front, and then at checkout arbitrarily up the price by $41 plus tip at checkout without explanation and refusing to listen is completely unacceptable. I will never return and cannot ever recommend this business based on this bait and switch pricing and dismissive customer service.

I've been coming here off and on for years for everything from relaxers, trims, and shampoos to…read morebarber cuts, color services, and crochet styles. Every visit, the students are eager to give you the look you want, and the instructors are always hands-on and ready to step in whenever needed. One thing I really appreciate is how clean and inviting the whole place is. The stations are always kept spotless, the vibe is open and airy, and even the bathrooms are impressively clean, which says a lot. The customer service from both students and instructors is always top-notch, making you feel welcome from start to finish. I've even brought my grandson in for a haircut, and they took amazing care of him, except for a small mishap at the shampoo bowl where he was drenched with water somehow. The student offered to put his shirt in the dryer so he didn't have to walk around with a cold, wet shirt. Overall, if you're looking for affordable beauty services in a friendly, well-kept space, I suggest going to Sherrill's. Just keep in mind that the students are still learning.

My hair was very long and very blue and I haven't been to a stylist in 2 years. It was hard trying…read moreto find a place to get my hair done, and I usually like to use beauty schools because they tend to be cheaper and I like to be a learning experience for budding stylists. I was a bit wary because I've had a couple bad experiences with trusting a student with my hair, but the Paul Mitchell beauty school was amazing. I had Erica do my hair, and since it was so long she had some help with the coloring and drying process from Kathy. Kessie supervised and showed how to do a dry cut on my hair and bangs, which were finished up by Ebony. I spent about 5 hours there and $75 but got exactly what I asked for. I got the dead ends trimmed, and now my hair color is an even all over brown. Erica was very professional and had a very relatable fun personality, all the girls that helped were also great. Next time I need my hair done I'll go back and be asking for Erica again. The only downside was the price, which I felt like wasn't communicated to me as clearly as it should have been, but for everything that was done to my hair I feel like it was probably the same as what any other salon would have charged me. My hair looks great and is in great shape. Also, to the military guys in the area, you can get your haircut here for free!

Ummmm so the haircut cost me $15 so that's nice, but you definitely get what you pay for…read more The students are pretty much free to cut your hair however they please. I really thought the teacher would have been more active in the haircut process! I asked for shoulder length cut and said "I'd like to be able to put my hair in a pointy tail"...after an extremely ROUGH wash with her arm smooshing my eyeball (omg germaphobe over here)... she put my hair in a ponytail and then CUTTTT!!!!!!! (*Also there was no communication error. She knew I wanted to be able to put my hair IN a ponytail after the haircut...when she was almost done she was like "why would you wanna out your hair in a ponytail?"...not that it's any of her business, but I work out everyday and would like to have my hair out of my face!) I was seriously trying not to freak out, especially since I signed a waiver that I wouldn't sue them LMAO. I see why they make us sign that form.. HAAA!! So she gave me a cut to my CHIN! Thank god I have thick enough hair to keep my hair like this and THANK GOD the teacher came by (at the end of the visit) and fixed some pretty substantial errors- one side longer than the other, taking out bulk, removing choppy cuts. The cut came out okay but I swear..this is NOT WHAT I WANTED!! I can just laugh at myself for this mistake!!! I am editing this review because I just read previous reviews and OMFG!! WHY DID WE DO THIS TO OURSELVES!!!! HAHA
