Since then the roof has held up great! Last week I started seeing a leak on the outside of my house. I called them up and the owner sent someone out the same day just to rule anything out. When they came out we both agreed that it didn't look like there was anything wrong with the roof, but that didn't stop them for doing their best to stop it from leaking they added some caulking around some holes in the stucco and masonry and fixed up some of the flashing near the leak. After that, it was still leaking, but Brad, the owner, was kind enough to come out again, even though it had NOTHING to do with the roof just to double-check on me and make sure that I was doing well. At the end of the day, they took off a side gutter and found a hole in the wall that the builders had left from when the house was built. Again, STILL not roof related, but they treated me like family and helped me as if it were and fixed it up for me. Literally cannot say enough good things about WDR! I've never found a company that is this helpful or this responsive.

And he breached the contract in a variety of ways, not the least of which was that EVERYTHING was supposed to be all done in ONE DAY; he changed the date on me several times, and then surprised me by sending a crew on a Sunday (which was a day sooner than his most recent promise). And this crew was obviously NOT his regular crew, because not only did they do a shabby job, but they didn't do it all. We had two downspouts instead of a complete gutter system; the roof on the shed was not touched; and the roof on the house looked like a group of kids had done. When I called him to complain as we were leaving the house that Sunday (that crew had also left a mess and departed at 4:16 PM when they were supposed to stay until it was all done, AND he wasn't even THERE) that almost nothing had been accomplished AND they had left a mess, he blew me off. When I indicated that the gutters had not been done, his response was that he "didn't want to bother [my] gutter guy on a Sunday." I informed him that his "gutter guy" had obviously already been "bothered" that Sunday, as there were two downspouts, but that was all. I told him that there WOULD be a roof on that shed by the time we reappeared at the house Monday morning, and there was - - but it was crappy. He sent someone during the night to haphazardly slap a roof on that shed - - which we paid for out-of-pocket so that the hail-damaged house roof and the not-so-damaged shed roof would match - - and I felt so sorry for the neighbors because that was probably a pretty loud nighttime endeavor. Anyway, I informed him that there was going to be an inspector from USAA coming at 4 PM the next day, and suddenly all EVERYTHING roofing-adjacent was completed - - and by a much more professional crew. But the gutters and downspouts didn't get done before we left for Germany. (I am assuming they got done because the house finally sold, although for $25,000 less than we had originally listed it for because since he took so long and the house could not be shown for liability reasons during the ELONGATED repair process, we had to mark it down THREE times!) So we withheld the $9000 balance because he had breached the contract in numerous ways. And what did he do? Put a lien on the house two days before it was to be closed on. So that money is now in escrow so that I can fight him for it, and we have an attorney who says we will definitely win - - so this guy is going to be out not only that $9000 but court costs/attorneys' fees. Steer clear of him! The first red flag for me should've been the fact that he had me deposit the first monies directly into his PERSONAL account - - when I questioned this, he said, "Oh, I do this all the time." And I should've looked at the reviews before I engaged his services. Because he's obviously terrible -- I'm not the only one. (No photos because we are now in Germany, but sufficed to suffice it to say the two roofs looked good.) And if zero stars were possible, that's what he would get. Because he got MEAN once he realized that he wasn't getting the money he was not deserving of.

I always thought of myself lucky to not have roof damage with all the hail we receive in Georgetown…read more(east of IH-35). But my luck ran out. Didn't notice anything amiss until I went into the spare bedroom, flicked on the light, and saw yellow. I looked at the light fixture, and it was full of water!!! There were water stains going all the way across the bedroom, even outlining the A/C register. Never having dealt with such, I started to panic. I telephoned my insurance carrier first to get guidance. After speaking with them (and answering a million + one questions) I started contacting roofing companies. Yelp was my first step. I wrote down the name of 3 companies and started phoning. APEX Roofing in Georgetown was my first call. They came out the next day and went on the roof and also in the attic. They took pictures so I could see. The culprit was a solar panel component that was no longer sealed, thus my roof leaked, dripped onto the ceiling's drywall, and into the light fixture. The 2nd company came out same day but did not go on the roof, nor did they enter my attic. They strictly relied on pictures from a drone. (I wasn't impressed with the lack of hands-on). The 3rd company, well, I didn't give them a chance. I cancelled because of the professionalism and hands-on inspection received from APEX Roofing. They were present when the insurance adjuster made a full inspection. After receiving word from insurance to proceed with repairs, I signed on with APEX. APEX took on the role of contractor & sub-contractor. They arranged for the solar panel company to remove the panels so a new roof could be installed (higher quality architectural shingles providing me with an insurance discount). An Attic Breeze solar attic ventilator was also installed. (Come on Summer 2024!! I'm ready!!) APEX arranged for the bedroom ceiling to be restored and painted to pre-damage specs. APEX arranged for the fenced backyard to be pressure-washed to remove all signs of hail strikes and re-stained. Gutters spouts were replaced. Then APEX scheduled the re-install of the solar panels (with the company I purchased the panels from). All work was done per insurance claim/quote and then-some. You can't place a price on professionalism, quality-of-work, positive attitude, and smiles. I highly recommend APEX Roofing in Georgetown. This company installed a patio cover 2 years ago at our house. It started with delivering a messed…read moreup lumber. Then they went to bring the twisted lumber back and brought a new one. So the start of this project was delayed from the beginning. Then they never showed up in time. Sometimes they paused for days. They started in the beginning of June and finished in August. Now two years after that , some boards are coming down and since they only stained the wood , we are dealing with black mold. We called the company and they came and took a look. Then the owner later wrote, there is no warranty , since it was caused by water damage, coming from the roof, which is not true! We got an inspection from USAA 3 days later and they could not find any damage from water and the roof has only minor loss of sanding . After that we called another company to take a look and they said the work they did is low quality. Boards were lose because at some point they were not nailed properly or not nailed at all. Also the staining should not allow black mold after only 2 years! We are done with this company. Also the whole project was extremely overpriced.
