It was a pleasant feeling knowing that MTA - Jay Street - MetroTech was only .3 miles away from the…read morehotel I stayed at in downtown Brooklyn. Although the commute was lengthy via Jamaica-179 St Line F with 16 stops; it was a relief and money saver because it connected me to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street Station where I was able to catch the Q70 LaGuardia Link SBS. Located in a high traffic area next to the MetroTech Center, the subway station serves as a major transit to downtown Brooklyn. I'm not sure if the OMNY (One Metro New York) card machine is always down, but it was surely not working the day I commuted from this station. It resulted in me having to go to a different location to purchase one. I must say that I have never had this experience in Chicago Illinois when purchasing a ventra card to catch the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) train, so I will assume that the OMNY card machine is always down. I am still open to commuting to-and-from MTA - Jay Street - MetroTech because it sits nearest to a hotel I will likely stay at again when visiting Brooklyn. However, I would not count on purchasing an OMNY card at this station. ~Have courage. Be Kind. ~ Thomas G
