I've always wanted to feel better about myself and truly believe that I'm beautiful, and I've finally found the answer! Glen McDowell Pin Up! photography!!! I discovered Glen's booth at the Women's Expo in San Francisco a couple weeks ago. He had several pictures on display and I was immediately draw to them. Very tasteful. Fun and flirty! I though to myself, wow, I might be able to do that, and he's so talented, maybe he can make me look that good!? I took a card and emailed him on Monday, following the Women's Expo. He got back to me and we discussed different outfits and ideas. I did my own research, with Glen's guidance and picked up a few outfits for the photo shoot. The Pin Up! package is the way to go!! Inez (his hair and makeup artist) is ridiculously awesome. There aren't words to express how good she is. Pictures though. :) They set aside 4 hours for the entire shoot, which includes the hair and makeup and 3 outfit changes. Inez is there the whole time touching up your hair and outfits for you!! Glen has tons of props and as long as you let him know beforehand what theme you want to try, he'll have multiple options for you once you're there. His studio is right in downtown, old town Salinas and it's a perfect size. Makeup/Hair area in the back and photo shoot area in the front. Onto Glen. It's VERY rare that you meet someone as professional and experienced as Glen. From the moment I showed up, he chatted me up. He knew that I was nervous (this is the first time I've ever done this) and spent the time to get me excited about the shoot. During the shoot he was a HUGE motivator and gave so much support and guidance. I haven't felt that good about myself since my wedding. He makes you feel like a model and it's so fun and empowering. He showed me the rough (untouched) photos once we wrapped and I was beside myself! I've NEVER looked that good. Even at my wedding. Glen is truly an artist and I cannot wait to see the proofs and the final outcome. I know they will be stunning. If you do one thing for yourself this year, it should be a photo shoot with Glen. It will change your life forever. If I could give him 10 stars I would. There aren't enough stars to express what he's given me. I will DEFINITELY be back!

I showed up to my wedding without ever meeting Catherine, but her warmth and friendliness made me feel comfortable immediately. Being a first time mom, first time (full term) preggo, having anxiety over a previous miscarriage,…read moreand a little type-A, preparing myself for the ultimate woman-making "race to the finish line" was something I knew would help calm my fears of the unknown. As mentioned, I'm type-A, so you would think I would have had this class all pre-planned however, with a previous miscarriage, I didn't allow myself to fully take in that a baby was fully on her way--despite an ever-growing belly. Two months before the due date, we finally nailed down some times. Being that we were commuting over an hour to work everyday, Aimee gracefully offered to meet us at our home, on our requested times, on our requested days! She made it so easy to make it happen with the little time we had. She even shifted things around when we had an abrupt loss in our family as we were about to take the class. The actual class was easy to absorb and super eye-opening. Knowing our rights, knowing what a woman's body is supposed to do, knowing what drugs actually do to you, knowing alternatives, knowing things we could do NOW to help with labor was absolutely priceless. You see, I had a breech baby. Aimee suggested how to do exercises each day and even gave me a gentle nudge to see a chiropractor. After that visit--boom--baby wasn't breech! The entire class gave me the knowledge I needed to prep myself for the day. And as far as mentally and emotionally prepping myself, she lent me a book on positive birth stories. She was helping me remove that horrible stigma around terrifying labors. Well, come 37 week appt and I had to be induced, medicated, and eventually c-section as baby flipped back to breech during the process of trying to lower her. However, guess who was on the other end of my anxiety-ridden text messages? Aimee. She was there to help with decisions I felt uncomfortable with and to even let me know that even though it wasn't the birth I had wanted, I was doing everything right for my baby and my health. As you can tell, I think Aimee is amazing. If you're looking for a partner, a guiding force, or just some real knowledge on birth/labor, Aimee is your gal.
