Just after some surfing around on booking.com, I found this place!…read more Boy I am glad I didn't follow the recommended link to the Ghent Mariott (usually I would), this small B&B offers double the room space for half the price. True there is no fancy elevator, but that said it is the only disadvantage of this design B&B! I had a late check in without any problem, in fact Didier the owner who used to be an interior architect (or still is..) took his time to explain all details of the room. If you listen and see the efforts they put in this place it is not expensive at all. It is located on walking distance to the centre. (I am not keen on walking but the city pulls you in and 10minutes seems to be 2) At night the city lights up, becoming a stylish dressed lady. Too bad I have a couple of intensive training days else I would stay up late in this city. So breakfast; it is in line with the atmosphere hanging around in the B&B. personalized. Do not expect a mega buffet, but get a perfectly balanced breakfast and ask anything at the hosts and they will take care! Great place and they will see me soon again!

But no big deal because they are really good about getting you. It's a really smooth transition. The building itself is sleek and modern. When you walk in you see beautiful concrete stairs. We reserved one of the room on the second floor. Our room is drop dead gorgeous. The room is way better than the pictures I posted. The designers really did a great job and the decor matches the urban feel of the room. The owner told us they plan to build a restaurant in the basement. I am so excited about that because this is a hotel I would come back to in a heartbeat on my next trip to Brussels.

What wasn't so nice is that kids from the floor above us were making a racket until after midnight. We are early sleepers and it took multiple calls to the reception desk to get this issue solved. The flooring appears to be made from wood. This spoiled one day for us as we were both a bit tired the next day due to lack of sleep. The breakfast buffet is really nice. We enjoyed taking relaxing long breakfasts lazily looking out of the large windows at the nearby woods. Feels very peaceful. Pro tips: go early Sunday morning for breakfast buffet as it's very busy by 10.

Came in Saturday night to screaming children banging on the grand piano. People need to watch their kids....but not watch them bang on the piano. It is not a toy. Breakfast brunch was good. Lots of choices. Staff works hard to push alcohol for brunch. Had a good time at bar and was well taken care of. He warned us that hotel needs at least an hour to find a taxi for any trips. Decided to get our own transport to airport when we leave. Burger at restaurant was very good. I had the world tapas plate which was very good.
