La Bourganville is situated just outside and far above the city in the Manzoni neighbourhood. There are many beautiful vistas of the city, Vesuvius and the sea from Via Alessandro Manzoni. Getting into the city couldn't be easier. Get an unlimited full day pass for the metro (€4.50), and use it on the funicular just down the road from the B&B, takes you to Mergellina, and then walk 250m to the Mergellina metro which has both line 1 and 2. Then use your pass on any metro, bus or funicular in the city. We mainly chose La Bourganville because they offer parking for €5/day, but we'd definitely stay again both for location and to chat with Giuliano. Mille grazie!

Nice B & B, really comfortable and homey. (I understand it's been remodeled and upgraded since we…read morestayed.) It's in a good location, a residential neighborhood with access to public transit and a really great local restaurant. The best part of the stay is the host, Guiliano. He picked us up at the train station, gave us a tour of the city and made wonderful recommendations on where to visit, and how to save money and see all the sights. He even offered to pick us up in town if we were out after the buses stopped running. Every morning we'd have breakfast and talk to Guiliano about where to go that day. When we returned in the evening, we would talk over our travels with him - as if we were coming home to a cousin who was glad we were visiting. I can't say enough good things about Guiliano - he's definitely in the right line of work!

Location is just a 10 min walk from the train station. It was a little hard finding it the first…read moretime due to the several alley ways and having to lug my luggage over cobblestone streets and look at my google maps for direction. I guess I can't multi-task well. After finding the "entrance" to the building, which was a drive way. We walked up about 2 flights of stairs to the main entrance. We were greeted kindly and shown to our room. I booked a room big enough for 3 people total. We had a double bed and a twin bed. Our room overlooked the square so if we open the balcony doors, we can hear traffic. It's actually pretty to look at and the windows brought in a lot of sunlight. With the balcony doors closed, we don't hear any noise from outside so that was a plus. Our restroom was "big" enough for us, it was cozy and had all supplies we needed. Do keep in mind that at late hours, the main gate to the drive way closes and to get in, you must unlock with the second key they give you. Within the gate is a small doorway that you unlock it from. The building and gate itself is truly beautiful. The architecture is astonishing. It was a great adventure getting there and walking around Naples.

Very nice place to stay in a not-so-good area of the city. However, it's very safe and secure. The…read morehosts are extremely welcoming and accommodating. They really make this place a five star location. They live across the hall from the B&B and they graciously watched our bags after we checked out so we could continue to explore the city and they even gave us a ride to the train station when we got back. We were so grateful to not have to flag down a cab on the street with our bags. The train station isn't far- probably a 10-15 minute walk, but like I said the area isn't the greatest and the sidewalks are really uneven which makes it difficult to pull suitcases over. (I know because we walked to the B&B) Our room was very spacious and so was the bathroom. The breakfast was also wonderful! It was delivered at the time requested to our room. We were very happy with our stay.
