I can't say enough good things about John and his business…read more I own a rental home in Stockton and live in Southern California. I called John and he serviced the opener. It had not been installed correctly so he fixed that but said it was an old opener. I asked if I should buy a new one and he said no, it's fine after his service. Super honest and a joy to work with!

My daughter is having problems with her garage door and opener…read more I called a, supposedly, highly rated garage door repair company. They told me the door had a Crack in it and needed to be replaced because that door was no longer made and parts were not available. By California law, a new opener also had to be installed. No new door can be installed without installing a new opener, because it has to have a battery back-up. I called John, from Afford-A-Door in Lodi. He came out. Fixed the opener problem in about 3 minutes. That saved me between $1,000-$1,500. He looked at the Crack in the door and said it could be repaired. That saved me between $2500-$3500. I SAVED BETWEEN $3,500-$5,000 by calling Afford-A-Door. Couldn't be happier because I called Afford-A-Door. Thanks, John. I owe you. Afford-A-Door (209) 327-8585

A tech came out on May 6th because the door was not open and the tech opened and closed the door…read moremanually while I was there and didn't say anything and then looked at the motor and said it need to be replaced. He told me what to get. So I got what he told me. On May 13, he came and worked on replacing it. He still did not say anything 2 hours later until I asked if he was done. Then he said yes but the door hit the up door frame. I told him that it didn't hit the door frame before. Not sure why he got upset and was trying to say that I was accusing him and called his boss. Then said the Spring is wrong and the door was installed wrong by previous technician. He pointed to other small garage door that said it was wrong also and stormed out. This door had been working well for years since I bought house in 2010 until the motor stopped working. If it was always like that, the door would be all managed. Only after he did the replacement the door hitting the frame. Replacing the motor might require some adjustment on the door or track to make the door works well but instead he was trying to argue with me and trying to blame this and that. The next day the other technician came and spend a 15,minutes to adjust and replaced one of the hinges and it works and that was done for free. This could have been better if the first tech just said it was not my fault but I'll try to adjust it for you and if there was something else that needs to replace you pay for it. I would be happy with and pay more for him if there is anything that needs to be done as I need the door to work. I feel this is totally unnecessary and uncalled for. I appreciate the company to send another tech out to do adjustments for me. So this review is not reflected on the company but the that one technician. If his was handled properly I would be happy to give them a 5 star but for that I gave them 4
