There is a weird food elitism to the branding that would be much easier to swallow if the actual food backed it up. Unfortunately, for the price, mine absolutely did not. The menu talks a very big game about clean ingredients, non-GMO everything, special oils, organic this and carefully sourced that, but at some point the food still has to taste good. Healthy food does not need to be boring food, and expensive food definitely should not be boring food. I left feeling like I had paid a premium for the philosophy of my meal rather than the meal itself. To be fair, our server was incredibly sweet. She was warm and lovely and was easily the best part of the experience, so none of this is a criticism of the service. I was also genuinely surprised to see balloons being used as gifts for kids. Maybe that sounds nitpicky, but when a restaurant markets itself so heavily around wellness, conscious choices, vegan options and doing food "better," disposable balloons feel bizarrely off-brand.
