After trying both Maillard Wood Fired Kitchen and StrEAT Kitchen, I think Social Food Hall deserves…read morea review of its own, because this place is much more than somewhere to grab a bite to eat. Located at 110 S. Main Street in downtown Elizabethtown, Social takes the food-court idea and gives it a serious upgrade. Instead of everybody in your group having to agree on one restaurant, there are multiple kitchens under the same roof. Currently that includes Maillard Wood Fired Kitchen for Neo-Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, StrEAT Kitchen for smash burgers and other street-food-style dishes, and Wasabi Bistro for made-to-order Japanese food. We've already tried Maillard's Italian Meats pizza and a bacon smash burger with Parmesan fries from StrEAT, and both were fantastic. So the hardest part may be deciding which direction to walk when you get hungry. But the thing that surprised me was everything else inside. There's a full bar and self-pour tap wall, plus duckpin bowling, pool upstairs, arcade games and pinball machines. And we're not talking about only new arcade games either. I spotted some real old-school machines, including NBA Jam, Fisherman's Bait and Track & Field. If you grew up feeding quarters into arcade machines, you may forget you originally came here to eat. The building itself is really cool too. It's a big open industrial-style space with high ceilings, exposed brick and plenty of different seating--from regular tables and long communal tables to more comfortable lounge-style areas. There's enough going on that a family or group could easily make an afternoon or evening out of it rather than just eating and leaving. I also like the concept because everybody doesn't have to want the same thing. Somebody wants wood-fired pizza? Done. Somebody wants a smash burger? Done. Somebody else wants Japanese? They've got that too. Then everyone meets back at the same table. That's a pretty smart setup. And based on our visit, the atmosphere was peaceful and enjoyable and the service we received was awesome. We never felt rushed, and it was the kind of place where you could hang around after eating instead of immediately heading for the door. Social Food Hall gets from us. Come hungry, bring some friends, and give yourself some extra time. You may go in planning to eat a pizza or burger and come out having eaten both, played NBA Jam, gone bowling and somehow lost half your afternoon. That's not a bad way to spend a day.

Decide what you want to eat, order, and find a seat. They offer a variety of food types - Pizza, Burgers, Asian, etc - so there's something for everyone. We chose smash burgers from the STREAT Kitchen. I got the Street Smash and upgraded my chips to tater tots. The burger comes on a large, Hawaiian bread type bun which holds up well with all that's going on in between the bun. The sauce they use is very flavorful with the pickles, cheese, and lettuce enhancing the taste of the burger. I highly recommend. Hubby got the American Smash and really enjoyed his as well. If we were staying in the area longer, I would come back to try other food and play some of the games.

Very disappointing. Bowling alley food is usually good. After them not serving food for so long we were so excited to eat there. We won't do that again. Also no beer. We like to go with friends and have a few beers and bowl. We have gone several times but usually go to Elizabethtown so we can snack and drink while we play. They are losing a lot of money not having food and drinks. We will go to bowl but we would be spending a lot more money there if they were full service

We went for lunch around 12:15 on Tuesday. Everyone was really friendly. The waitress came over and took our order quickly. Some time went by and I could hear the waitress telling the man that cooked our food something was mixed up. They talked a minute and she brought my husband his plate. He ordered the Strike Out Burger (w/cheese) and an order of crinkle fries. She said mine would be just a minute. She came back very quickly with my plate; she walked away to greet a couple that had just walked in. I looked at my plate and then I looked at my husband. He said I think they forgot some of your fries. I literally had less than half of what he had, and it was clearly the bottom of the bag because neither fry was longer than a pen cap. Definitely not a $3 portion. But whatever... he said he'd share his fries with me. We were on our way out of town so we didn't have any extra time. As the waitress walked by, I asked if I could get pickles and mayo (both of which were missing from my hamburger). She brought them back quickly. My husband said that his burger was decent and hot. I could not say the same about mine. There is no possible way that my burger had just been made... NO WAY. It tasted and looked like it had been cooked earlier and then "reheated". I put reheated in quotes because my burger was not the least bit hot. Nothing about it was good. I ate a few bites but it was super tough, cold and had zero salt. I ate my fries and some of my husband's and I was done at that point. I know. I should have said something right then, but we were on our way to pick our daughter up and at that point I just wanted to leave. I saw my friend today (the one who told me about this place) and told him about my experience. He apologized and said he wasn't surprised. He said the last few times he's been recently, the food was not good at all. I'm not sure if there is a different cook, or what, but clearly something has changed. I always go back to a place a second time just to give them a second chance because any place can have a bad day. Maybe I came on a bad day or maybe this is their new normal.

A few more chilis would've been nice (we lived for 5 years in Arizona), the burger was tasty! Fries were also good and fresh. We had a few draft beers- they have a solid selection- but we also watched the bartender make some good-looking espresso martinis.

Bar up here to serve you your libations. If you come here for an event, it is most likely in the downstairs area. If you are come for an event, use the other entrances to enter. I had no idea about this until I had gone upstairs and they directed me to the area. Your best bet, stay inside here as much as you can. Outside has an odor, so yeah, keep yourself inside, that's the only bad thing about this area. I guess the odor all depends on which way the wind blows. The downstairs portion of this place is huge. Offers a lot of options and is a great place to hold an event. There is a bar down here as well serving up your drinks. But there are more activities down here than just the bowling lanes upstairs. Darts, pinball, karaoke, pool tables, and probably the better of the floors here. Not taking anything away from the lanes upstairs, but you can only bowl so many games. If you are looking for a place that will offer you more things to do to fill your entire night.

I'm now a fangirl of Main Event, going from my original review of 3 stars to 4 and now 5 stars…read more Lemme explain ... We hosted my son's 6th birthday with Main Event over the weekend, and after hosting all of his other parties at our house, this birthday was a breeze! I was able to easily book online and also reach someone at Main Event to ask a few questions of. For the birthday party option, you pay by the kid, not the adult, which definitely helped with costs. For roughly $350, we got an hour of arcade time with $20 arcade cards for each kid, two tables near the bowling lanes that we could decorate, several pizzas, sodas for everyone, a plate of watermelon slices and some other extras. We were able to bring in our own cake and goodie bags, and we could adjust the number of guests up to three days beforehand. We were given a party coordinator when we arrived, Cadence. She was great, getting us all that we need. The party time flew by. My son and his friends had a blast. And best of all, we weren't left with a house that looked like a tornado went through it. We would definitely book this again!

Our reservation was at 5:30 and have the paperwork confirming that; however, we were greeted with "you should have been here at 5:00". We were walked to our bowling lanes, given drink tickets, activity tickets, and game cards. Our server wasn't overly friendly and once we got started we never saw him again. We went to the bar to turn in tickets and our dirty plates were piled up on back tables. I've never experienced such poor service from Main Event - and since many of our guests were from out of town, it was embarrassing as a host. Because they insisted our arrival should've been at 5 instead of 5:30, our lanes were shut off abruptly during bowling. This caused a fairly big smashing of a ball against the metal wall. None of use were able to finish the last frame. When we mentioned the shutdown and having no warning, the gentleman at the shoe return shrugged and said "you knew you had til 7". The space was almost empty ... such strange, disappointing behavior from the team. We have multiple gatherings at work throughout the year and are located near Main Event. I will no longer be recommending them for our team events.

If you want to go bowling, Dixie Bowl will do just fine for you…read more At first, I wasn't too sure about the people being arrested by cops on the parking lot, but I decided to go in anyways and give it a try. The interior was nice and clean and the woman at the desk was extremely helpful. At $2.50 a game, it isn't too pricey. It wasn't crowded at all for a Saturday night and you can get that nostalgic feeling you got as a little kid when you'd go bowling. The only bad part was that they put us on lane 19 and it was acting up, so we had to keep stopping the game to get someone to fix the lane for us. If you go to Dixie Bowl, be sure to tell them NOT to give you lane 19 haha

We also ordered chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks (which were delicious) and onion rings. Everything was fresh and had no issues at all! Thank you Dixie Bowl!! I will definitely refer them to any family and friends.
