I was in the market for another Dovo straight razor (yes, it's an addiction), which are getting more and more difficult to find, especially at reasonable prices. Most sites list Dovo straight razors as being out of stock, or they are listed as in stock, but then I get an email a few days later saying they don't actually have the razor I ordered. The sites that actually do have them are really taking advantage of supply and demand and gouging customers with insane markups. This site had an accurate representation of their stock, extremely reasonable prices, and excellent product photos and descriptions that sounded like they were written by someone who knows razors. So, I purchased a beautiful all-stainless Dovo (razor and handle). Jesse quickly responded, saying that he would have the razor out the door the next day. The next day, as promised, he wrote me an email saying he had just finished honing the razor and dropped it off at the post office. I was excited that he offered honing. Most sites just send you the razor with a factory edge, which is usually not good enough for a shave. All in all it was an outstanding, personalized online shopping experience. I'd recommend Nelson's for all of your shaving supply needs.

Clientele is on the Senior Circuit continuum and it is challenging sometimes to get an appointment. I wouldn't recommend walking in. Ron has his regular customers. But if you want a decent haircut at a good price the Ron's is the place for you. Unlike chains like Super Cuts, Ron takes about an hour per customer. If you're in a hurry pass on Ron's.

Most of the time it works out in my favor, but every now and again it is good to get a trim with professionals. Anthony's 511 is just as the name states, Anthony is the one and only gentleman cutting your hair at this 511 Main St address. In 15 minutes, he was able to sculpt a perfect faux hawk from my less than perfect hair. His chair-side demeanor kept things lively, straight forward, and even hilarious at times. The best part, or maybe the most marveling part, was the warm shaving cream dispenser that he used in conjunction with a straight blade to tidy up the back of the neck. No Sweeney Todd blood letting here, just a great cut at a hard to beat price. Fast cut, great service, no week long wait to get an appointment, I might have found the best barber in the area; a hidden gem among all these other establishments charging over $30 for a men's cut. When I found her in the summer of 2012, I knew I found my barber for as long as I remained in Madison or as long as she continued cutting hair. It's tough for guys. Most don't know what style looks good on their thick heads, we just know we want it to look good. That's why you need a good barber with vision, and Cortney's is the best I've come across. She was able to convert my nonsensical babbles into a hair cut that looked good for me. There's never an awkward moment in her awesome barbering chair as she's a natural conversationalist with a knack for putting you at ease. Whether you're a guy who knows what style he wants or one of the countless clueless guys like me, Cortney is the best hands down. I've been visiting her for three years and haven't looked back once.

I booked specifically with her the next time, and due to some circumstances out of her control she wasn't able to be in that day. There was some miscommunication with the shop and through the app, but one of the other stylists was actually able to work me in and the haircut turned out great. The TVs at the individual stations are a nice touch and I appreciate the hot towel and hair wash so I don't walk out itchy. Overall, a 3 star but trending up now that I've found two stylists I think I can trust.
