By far best boutique in Key West. Or, the world, TBH. This place is filled with treasures, and truly one of the best little shops I've ever visited--curated like a museum, and with high quality items that also evoke museum vibes. There's a European air and flair in the place, with items I've never come across in other shops, and I love that! There were lots of scented items, and I love how she had glass cloches over the individual scents, since I am scent-sensitive. I was afraid when I walked in I might not be able to take it, but it wasn't overpowering. There were so many home and gift items in here, I could have easily dropped 10x the amount of money I did If I'd brought a bigger suitcase. From the delicate new and vintage jewelry, to the frameable greeting cards, to high end teas (daily sample available), and cotton frocks sprinkled throughout, I felt like I could have spent two hours in this small shop and still not have seen everything. Yet, it doesn't feel overwhelming, because the merchandising skills utilized here just made it a pleasure to wander this way and that, admiring all the little touches. Honestly, it is an exemplary shop. I'd rank this in the top 5 shops I've ever visited anywhere, and I wander into a LOT of shops! This is a must if you are in Key West. Please ignore the negative reviews about this store, they are clearly written by people who have no idea what quality means. If you want to shop for unique items in a gorgeous setting, then this is your place. It's not a place for drunken tourists who want a tshirt or a post card. It's clear the owners have put their heart into curating everything about the store. OK, the price point is a little higher but get over it. The prices are not over the top for the items they are. Also the people working there are kind and knowledgeable. So, if you want some flip flops and a post card go to the CVS. Upon entering you see a sign to respect the store by limiting phone use, this just starts to build up the stuck-up environment this place feels like. They have lots of overpriced items, but I prefer going to some of the local art shops for work. The candles were very nice but overpriced. Definitely a higher price point, and not necessarily THE spot for a souvenir, but a beautifully curated selection of candles, fragrances, and gifts. I bought a vetiver soap there that I've never found an equal to in scent and quality, and many of the perfumes linger in my memory. My wife loves this store as she says it's probably her favorite shop in all of Key West. It's hard to describe this place. It sort of reminds me of Anthropologie without the clothes and just the trinkety type stuff but so much more of it. The place has a vintage like feel to it and besides that there's not that much say about it except to see it for yourself to see all the things they have. A huge plus especially in this area is there is customer parking available at the side of the building. Just remember to turn right out of the driveway because I'm pretty sure this area of Petronia is a one way. read more

A very unique boutique on Petronia, a side street off Duvall. Upscale soaps, lotions, journals & papers, candles, jewelry, etc. So much to browse through. The young girl here was so sweet and helpful. She even recommended a nearby tapas place that we visited for dinner which was awesome. This store is such a nice relief from the souvenir and t-shirt shops on Duval. I bought some beautiful items. This is a must to visit! read more

Holy moly - I swear this place must pump pheromones into the air! I always feel so good just walking inside - soft, lovely music; wonderful scents; beautifully displayed gifts, home and personal goods. Everything I've ever bought here has gotten compliments - really unique, beautiful things. In the words of the author of that hugely popular tidying up book, almost everything here "sparks joy" (for me at least!). Plus, the customer service is always so wonderful - they treat my 90+ year-old Mom like a visiting celebrity and offer my 90+ year-old Dad a comfy chair and some tea. This is as close to Tail of the Yak, in Berkeley, CA (my ultimate favorite store) as I could ever hope for, and in Key West, at that! I found my new favorite tunic here - cool gray linen...happily, there is NO turquoise, hot pink, or lime green anything to be found in this shop! This is quite a feat for FL in general & the Keys in specific! Everything is tasteful, beautifully made, and very well considered. If I could shop in one place alone in all of FL, this would be it! But since I don't, I will still visit one of my favorite small shops in Key West. Le sigh. Call Besame Mucho a "store"? No. It's more of a love song to the small, extraordinary moments of an average life. "Stores" line Duval Street hawking this and that, opening and closing with as much frequency. Ms. Meredith has created in her little building on Petronia Street an extension of her own bon vivance and good grace. It's an odd collection: A sinfully luxurious soap. An eclectic piece of jewelry. A fine leather-swathed hip flask with shot cups for two. Exotic candies. Whimsical Halloween pictures that turn evil as you look at them. Fine linens. Cookbooks from exotic locales, and some of the harder-to-find condiments that make up the cuisine. Kudos to Meredith, as this is very much an expression of her own persona. On this Earth it is the rare human being who creates, in the space of four commercial walls, what can only described as "magic." It's an arcane art usually practiced well by toy purveyors for children. Here you have what can only be called a toy emporium for romantics and the little bit of hopeful bon vivant that lies in all of us. Besame Mucho is one of the best places that you can visit on an island known for its colorful past and its seemingly boundless ability to express carpe diem, sieze the day, in a rainbow of ways. A visit to this establishment can only fail to move the most hardened of souls. Go. This was one of the first places that Jojo F. suggested I check out. I really liked Bésame Mucho because it reminds me of Patina in Minneapolis, yet it's unlike anything else I saw in Key West. This is a large shop with a nice mix of new and old clothing, jewelry, furniture and decor. The candles and soaps smell fabulous, as do the teas they sell. Browsing took a while because there are so many things stuffed into this space with seemingly no rhyme or reason. I wanted to walk away with almost everything but the prices deterred me from buying anything. Most of what I saw was too pricey for my current economic situation; however, this seems like the perfect place to save up for something special and there are quite a few items that are affordable and would make great stocking stuffers. read more

Sadly, it took me 3 years to check out this adorable store. It is walking distance from Blue Heaven and the Creperie......by all means, take a stroll over after dining. The minute you walk in you are transported... into the cool (thank God for air conditioning) and beautifully scented air. I can't really pin down the "style" of this shop with one word. It's a delightful & unique mix of decor, antiques, glassware, collectibles, soaps, candles, local art, jewelry and even religious medallions.It reminds me of one of my favorite stores: 'Anthropologie' (minus the clothing) It's just a beautiful mix of design, display, and inventory. I love Besame Mucho! While it may be expensive, it is worth a stop just to browse. When my husband and I stayed in Key West last summer, I usually would stop in for a visit just to cool off. (Loverly air conditioning, an important part of any visit in this part of Florida.) They have some great organic lines of make-up in the corner. I forked over around $8 for a tin of lavender scented lip balm. (Well worth it, yummy scent.) The lady (sales associate/ owner) was very kind. She greeted every customer, but didn't hover or crowd. What a breath of fresh air! This place is so worth making an effort to see. There is a lovely shady front porch for the males who may accompany you or dads that can watch the kiddies. The merchandise inside is beautifully curated. Every piece chosen with care. At 72, I bought my first scented candle and I am so looking forward to lighting it. This place is adorable. Tucked away from the hustle of Duval Street a few blocks off of Petronia, chock full of treasures for everyone on your list, or for yourself! I came in just to browse and check everything out - here's my tip: give yourself ample time to mosey because there is a LOT to see! There is furniture, home decor, books, paper & cards, tea, jewelry...a small beauty counter in the back - I really could go on. The staff are super sweet and friendly and there is probably a fresh, hot sample of some great tea so look near the register for a taste! Everything is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. You can sample the tea, try on the makeup, there is even a small collection of shirts and toys for toddlers. You may think you've seen it all wandering along Duvall but I'm telling you this shop is worth the detour! read more

Very cool small shop with nick knacks, stationary, soaps, gifts, etc. I love the business name which translates from Spanish to "kiss me much/often". Just adjacent to Blue Heaven restaurant and an ideal visit before or after a meal. This shop has great music playing upon entering which you can purchase if you enjoyed at checkout. Lots of soaps and toiletries. When I visited there was a very attractive female cashier present which improved my experience. read more

Adorable little shop on one of the side streets in Key West. They have all sorts of cute little items, upscale lotions and fragrances and shaving items for the men. My favorite thing about the shop was the fact they sold Kiehl items as well (we were on vacation, I didn't pack any of mine) which I was super stoked about. read more

My very most favorite store on the island. I could go in here every day and find something new that I would have to have. Beautiful and unique things for home and self, that seemed to have been picked out from markets around the world, even the music playing in the background. The jewelry is lovely, as is the stationery, many letterpress and vintage looking note cards. Take your time looking around as there are goodies hidden all over the place in here. I love the Besame Mucho branded items (this year's best finds were little mint tins and a large lavender-filled sachet/pillow) and they make wonderful gifts for friends. This store is filled with romance and a hint of magic. Earlier I said it was my favorite store on the island, but actually I think it might be one of my favorite stores in the world! Some of the staff are not as friendly as others (there is one really lovely lady, maybe the owner?), but are still happy to help. They will gladly offer samples of any of the Kiehl's products. And Betty, the cat, is as beautiful as the linens she naps on. read more
