He has a functional medicine side of his practice. The office clerk stopped me when I was leaving and told me I must pay $50 for my diagnosis of urinary incontinence. I told the clerk I did not have incontinence. She pointed to a tiny typed paper taped too high up on her glass window for anyone to read. She stated it was a list of diagnoses he regards as functional medicine. She insisted I pay the $50. I felt intimidated and paid the bill though the reported diagnosis was a lie. There was one bill sent by his office to my insurance company with codes. The bill I paid for $50 had no code. I reported this to Aetna/Medicare. Per Aetna, their grievance department and their fraud department have left phone messages at his office but gotten no return phone calls. I received a phone call from Aetna today and they told me they will continue to get to the bottom of this.

You sign in, and then you see an arm reach for the clipboard, snatch it inside the office, and only then do you get a response. When someone has my insurance card and driver's license, I would like to keep that person in my field of vision. When my reason came up for the visit, there was more militant behavior as if these "front" people know more about me than I do. I know what the doctor told me, and they acted as if what I said didn't matter. A lady was called back and when a gentleman thought they meant him, he was given a harsh "No." Even with a sweet doctor, these people are ruining her practice.

Vatsala Sastry caused my elderly mother's heart failure and permanent disability by dosing her with…read morea cocktail of last-resort antibiotics that she didn't even need. It's all about the insurance billing - some of these antibiotics are $500 each, and my mom was given three at a time. Sastry said my mom needed "5 or 6 weeks" of daily infusions; on day 10 she was rushed to ER with heart failure. Sastry gave her Levaquin, which has a black box warning that it can cause heart failure in patients with a-fib. My mom has a-fib, and it's noted throughout her medical records. Look up Sastry on the Florida Department of Health website and you'll see she has 3 deaths on her hands, plus permanent and temporary injuries. These are public records. Go to: apps.fldfs.com/PLCR/Search/MPLClaim.aspx, then input her name in the fields: Insured (Doctor's/Physician's) Last Name/First Name. Her horrendous online reviews reflect the same pattern of behavior, but unfortunately we learned many things too late. I believe Sastry used her "staff privileges" at Oak Hill Hospital (where she was assigned to my mother) to funnel patients to her filthy (literally) Suncoast Infusion Center upon their discharge. The hospital record clearly shows my mother did not have an infection, but Sastry blatantly lied in her clinic records, stating my mom had a bone infection. I reported all this to the CEO of Oak Hill Hospital, Mikey Smith, yet Sastry still has staff privileges. Her Suncoast Infusion Center appears to be out of business, but that's likely due to Covid, versus her reputation. I reported Sastry to the Florida Department of Health, but if three deaths and falsifying medical records didn't stop her, I don't have much hope that my mother's case will impact her career. I can only hope my review saves even one person from the life that my mother is now living.

Having a connective tissue disease means a lot of doctor appointments for referrals and for regular care. The reception team get me timely appointments, call to remind me of my appointments, and have processed all my referrals and prescriptions correctly. The medical technicians/nurses have been polite, helpful, and professional at every encounter. This is a small office with just Dr Abskhroun to see patients. There have been a few times when I had to wait past my appointment time to see him. This is because he never rushes through appointments. I can appreciate that in doing so (listening to his patients) appointments can run long. Dr Abskhroun likes to focus on just a couple issues at a time to ensure no overlap in need for specialty referrals or medication prescriptions. This has reduced my daily medication load making my liver happier.

What a nightmare…read more Each visit is 3 hours. Treatment is nonexistent and I've waited 5 weeks since the biopsy (not cancer but still needs treatment) became available and still no treatment. I had to find another gastroenterologist to finally give me the treatment I need. It took the new doctor 20 mins to do what this office couldn't do in 5 weeks. I feel like the last visit with them was a waste of time because they did nothing for me. I have called multiple times over the course of the last week and now my calls get routed to the office manager who has not called me back. This put me in a position to find someone else due to their lack of communication and ignoring me. I really hope that they treat others better than the way they treated me because no one deserves to feel the way I felt going through this.
