Our biggest hesitation was…read moreneither of us had tried a hookah before, but we weren't given much of an option once we found out they were having an emo night. We arrived around 10pm and it was a nice-sized crowd for first timers. You could tell they had a bunch of regulars, which is comforting when trying a new business. Unfortunately, I don't recall the flavors we tried, but it came highly recommended. They told us to pick a seat and they'd bring everything out for us. They were also kind enough to show us how to put it together and use it without embarrassing us lol. We stayed for about 2 hours and there was a pretty decent crowd by the time we left. Honestly, if I didn't stay so far, we'd probably be here on a regular basis. This is place to take your friends if you're looking for a laid back night, while still looking for the "going out" experience.

No manakeesh, no Arabic coffee anymore (Turkish only- without cardamom). Big open dining area. Hookah available. Only one person spoke English but she was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The shrimp kafiya had lots of little shrimp and was basically a large bowl of tomato stew. Flavorful, some garlic and onion and green pepper throughout. The pita it came with was dry and leatherlike. Very hard to chew.

I was able to visit in a recent trip to the city and would recommend it to those going for a visit as well. Located in the House of Blues, you'll have to enter through the 4th strewn door and head straight to the back. Most "speakeasies" I have visited in the US are pretty obvious (like someone sitting in a chair, directing you to a set of stairs behind them to enter the "speakeasy"), but with the entrance to this one tucked away behind a place with live music and food, it had more of an authentic feel. The friend with me that night even questioned if we were in the right place as I strolled to the back of the restaurant and walked up to the girl seated at a podium. "Excuse me, but is this the way to the foundation room?" I asked her. She affirmed, and we were soon on our way up an elevator. When we got to the second floor, we were promptly greeted by a host, Julius, who showed us around. The decor is sumptuous, a blend of Moroccan, Indian, and Jacobean flair. After checking out a room with relics from an Indian temple and looking at the rooftop (with an Instagram-worthy floral wall), we decided to grab a cozy spot near the bar and ordered a drink. As we sipped on our Old Fashioneds, Julius came by to check on us, and we watched the place fill up with an array of people in a festive mood. It was a lovely way to end a night in Cleveland, and a place I highly recommend that you check out when you're in the area!

I decided to check it out due to mixed reviews and the two times I visited, I was less than content with my experience. I have seen bouncers discriminate against women, I've seen them charge different amounts for covers for different people. Sometimes they were disrespectful to LGBTQIA+ guests. On a few occasions, I saw them disrespect and insult some women, particularly darker skinned women as well. It was a very weird environment. Its small too so being crammed in like sardines on a more popular night with drunk ppl everywhere and arguing is not a good thing either. It's always someone fighting, threatening gun violence and the prices are so astronomical for Cleveland, Ohio.

It was so hard to choose which meal I wanted. I ended up with the crab leg shrimp Alfredo. The crab legs were done to perfection. I don't smoke hookah, but there were some ppl there enjoying their hookahs. My only complaint would be there was a limited selection of liquor or they were just out at the time.
