My family and I had been looking for a good BBQ restaurant in the Valley and came across Bludso's…read morein Van Nuys -Take out only. We were genuinely excited to find a BBQ spot we enjoyed, and for a while, we were happy customers. Unfortunately, over time, our experience became increasingly disappointing, particularly when it came to the size and consistency of the ribs. The first couple of times we ordered, the ribs looked like a standard, reasonable portion. But on our later visits, we noticed that the ribs appeared noticeably smaller. It wasn't just a one-time observation; after seeing the difference several times, we decided to call and ask about it. We weren't looking for anything unreasonable, we simply wanted an explanation and some consistency in what we were paying for. We were told, "Sorry, we'll have our manager get back to you." We appreciated that someone would supposedly follow up, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It has now been a couple of months, and we have never received a call, email, or any kind of follow-up. That part is honestly just as disappointing as the portion issue. Bludso's prices are high, and when you're paying premium prices for BBQ, you expect the quality and portions to be consistent. We understand that food costs, labor, and operating a restaurant are expensive, we're not expecting bargain prices. But when a restaurant charges what Bludso's charges, customers have every right to expect that the portions will be consistent and that legitimate concerns will be taken seriously. In a time when the cost of everything continues to rise and people have to think carefully about where they spend their money, spending more at a restaurant should come with the expectation of getting a quality experience. If we're willing to pay higher prices, we expect the food and customer service to reflect that. What really sealed the deal for us was that we actually tried to address the issue directly. We didn't immediately leave a negative review or complain online. We called the restaurant, explained our concern, and gave them an opportunity to respond. Unfortunately, the fact that nobody ever bothered to follow up after promising that a manager would contact us left us feeling like our business and feedback simply weren't important. We enjoyed Bludso's when we first discovered it, which makes this even more disappointing. But there are plenty of BBQ options out there, and at these prices, we don't feel there's a reason to continue spending our money somewhere that doesn't provide consistency or follow through with its customers. We tried. We gave them multiple chances. We reached out and gave them an opportunity to make it right. Unfortunately, we've moved on. No more Bludso's for us.

Perhaps Fresh Grill is referring back to the Persian Empire when its borders did touch the Mediterranean Sea about 2,300 years ago before Alexander the Great conquered the great Empire. Interior is standard order at the counter, get a number, kitchen staff brings the food to you finding you by the plastic number stand. Limited number of 4 seat and 2 seat tables. Definitely not for large groups. Lot of people do take out. The lady at the counter was friendly taking our orders. 1) Jujeh Kebab/Cornish Game Hen that comes already separated into different body parts that were grilled and seemed finished in an open flame blackening the skin. The Hen has moist meatiness that may come from being vinegar salt brined along with onion, coriander seed. Very satisfying and better than many Persian sit down restaurants in L.A. 1a) Really fresh garden salad of crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy Persian cucumber, roma tomato slices. Thousand Island dressing. 1b Hummus made of puréed chick peas is especially satisfying here. Extra thick, creamy with an almost dairy or mayonnaise like richness. Sprinkling of mild red chile powder. Goes great with the provided Pita bread. 1c) Basmati rice is dry, friable, nutty in texture. Bit of decorative, yellow, turmeric dyed rice on top. Light Umami perhaps due to being cooked with chicken bouillon. 1d) All you can drink Coca Cola from the soft beverage dispenser. $22 for a full, satisfying dinner is a deal. Yelper Rob B. made an excellent suggestion coming here. 4 stars

Since you're picking everything it's obviously made to order so the food is served really fresh. I got the beef and decided on two different bases, rice and udon noodles topped with a fried egg. It was delicious. My only complaint and it's really not a complaint. Was that the noodles had a sweeter sauce which I wasn't a fan of. But all in all, it was still pretty tasty and a generous portion.

ACTUALLYYYYYYYY, CHECK THIS PLACE OUT, PLEASE…read more I am so shocked at how delicious and affordable the drinks are. I tried the matcha with banana cold foam and the egg top coffee. Both drinks were delicious! I ordered online and they were busy. I waited an extra 5 minutes on top of the estimated ready time, but it was worth it. The matcha taste is concentrated, but not overly sweet nor bitter. The banana cream top was delicious and even had chunks of real banana. I was excited to try the egg top coffee because it is a rare coffee top to find and it was delicious, just as expected! The coffee they have is also very strong (similar to Vietnamese iced coffee). Overall, I would come back for a coffee or even a matcha! Despite how busy they are, the staff is super friendly and helpful :) Downside: parking is terrible :( Upside: They are open really late!!

Parking isn't the greatest though and there's a few long tables inside with chair to enjoy your drink and food.

Sugar Daddy Roll - scallop on outside, yellowtail on inside. Everything was fresh. Again a little heavy on the sauce so taste was overwhelmed by the ponzu. But tasty. Could use a textural element.
