I was arrested for felony domestic violence and hired Miguel to represent me the day of the…read moreincident. That was four months before my arraignment. I paid $2500.00 for him to get this case thrown out before court. He told me that he would put a mitigation packet together and it would be an easy dismissal. He told me a week before court not to even bother going. My arraignment was February 5 2021. A day before that court appearance Miguel called me and said that he could not represent me and would give me a refund. He also stated he would give me this mitigation packet. I got my money but he never came to court and did not give me any of the documents that were supposedly sent to the DA. When I went to court they doubled my bail and added a strike. Four months of my defense is wasted. I got assigned a public defender who I still have not been able to contact. I made a formal complaint with the state bar. This guy is not only a bad lawyer, he is a predator. Watch out.

Which required me to show up to court and during this time I was working out of the country. So I wouldn't be able to show up to the scheduled court hearing in person. Anyway, I called Southwest Legal and they gave me a quote and were able to do everything on my behalf. Most of my updates and communication came through emails, minus that initial phone calls to their office. The service was well worth the price. They were great and informative and knew what they were talking about. They ended up emailing me back saying they got my ticket dismissed. The girl that answered the call didn't know anything she kept putting me on hold for every question I asked. We waited a total of 31 minutes and the total appointment was 29 minutes. There were 3 options laid out, and my husband only qualified for 1. The questions were very in depth and required some detail, more then I'm accustomed to. There's only one lawyer and one paralegal the rest of the office consists of office managers and staff.
