Old-school place a bit invisible without the bright neon that the bigger casino and it is definitely in the more speedier part of the Las Vegas Strip. It is located basically between the Sahara and the Strat and is a small casino without the flash of either. There was a sign for Thai food at tge entrance of the casino, but I did not try it. The people were friendly enough and it was cool to visit this place. I will give it four stars, though it was between three and four stars. read more

It's a freaking show baby! The diner is perfectly fine and Hella cheap. I like the pho. It's not authentic but it's a good broth. And a healthy portion. Aztec Inn is an old school dive casino. It has cheap slots and food. Kind of sketchy in the area and outside. Close to a few of the more interesting neighborhoods with the pawn shops and those types of businesses. The casino is kind of fun even though it stinks. It actually isn't as bad. Some good things are really here like how cheap the cafe is. The casino reeks but it's part of the charm it seems. Menu is Asian. This is weird because it should be Aztec food and Asian has nothing to do with this. Anyway if all you care about is cheap food then this is good. The food in the cafe is about $5 for an entree, which is pretty nice. Of course there's problems such as the quality and it's not fresh. There's no vegan options. Cheap slots with cheap Asian food. Wanted to support a small business and also get a deal. The $5 breakfast might be worth it if you are on a tight budget, otherwise skip this place and walk down to the Peppermill (just a few blocks south) and have something special. They sneak in a $2 "tip" and then post ugly signs all over saying the tip is optional. (I've never seen a place do this). The food barely passed. Restrooms...you need to get a key. The waiter acted like he didn't know what I was asking. So I had to go to the bartender who said "the restaurant has a key". I will not return to this establishment, unfortunately. I tried this place because they are right across from the Strat Hotel. I wanted a late breakfast on one of the mornings of my stay. My husband and I both ordered from the breakfast menu. He got the steak and eggs, I got the steak mushroom omelet. Bottled water was $1.00, they don't offer free water in a serve your food on paper plates. Soft drinks are refillable. The staff was really friendly and waited on us pretty quickly. The food was delicious. The only reason I took off a star was because they added the tip into the bill - but there is a sign on the wall posted that says tips are optional. Why have the sign if you are going to add it into the bill? I should have been provided the option to pay with cash. Also, breakfast is served until 2pm. I go there right before 2pm and the food was fresh. If you can stand the area, I would give it this place a try. Its a small kitchen with a clean area right next to slot machines to play if you choose. This review is solely based on the food and environment. I ordered Beef Pad Thai and it just didn't cut it. I'm big on Thai food and I just didn't like it. Now this is Vegas, so a good number of places here specifically Casino's and Inn's like this, the smell just offset my appetite even more. If you don't mind the smell then by all means. They do have a wide variety on the menu. From burgers to Mexican food etc. maybe I just made the wrong choice that day, I'm sure the burgers are fine. Thai Tea was good. Good portion too, unlike other places that fill up a glass with 85% ice. They also have desserts here. I almost ordered a cheesecake. INEXPENSIVE Pizza-Salad-Pasta Buffet! SITREP There is NOTHING Spectacular about this location (across the street from the Stratosphere) nor it's menu (QUITE ordinary). And though that does not sound like a stellar-recommendation for someone to "go-out-of-their-way to come to", it IS what it IS, and if you are close by and hungry, this is a stop definitely worth poppin for. SETUP As a guest in the Stratosphere, I first noticed Aztec Inn when I was walking to the Circle K (and I should review this Circle K, cause IT is very cool too), and saw that they had a $6.95 all you can eat Pizza Buffet. I pay this when I do the pizza buffets at Roundtable and Mountain Mike's back in Sacramento. THE MENU This buffet was so much better with: * A big selection of pizza slices (including a substantial amount of veggies & pesto based-sauces); * A big selection of leafy greens, lots of different salad toppings and options; * A pasta bar with a couple of different selections, usually one with a meat sauce, and then another with a marinara or an alfredo-based sauce; and, * The bottomless soda was also a great plus. Being in the casino also allowed many patrons to take advantage of the FULL bar nearby which was it's own separate cost (but usually spirits beyond normal beer & wine are available in most pizza establishments, and sometimes not even the beer & wine). THE LOWDOWN Sure, it's very quaint, not at all elegant, but if you're trying to mind your money, and don't want to get stuck putting out $50-$70 for a buffet wristband on the strip that will anchor you to only a handful of food & diversity options for three days, then these little out of the way places are true gems to enjoy. read more

Across the street from the Stratosphere hotel and casino is this dive bar of a place. If it's an Inn, I missed that part of it. Looked to fit in more with the seedier side of the neighborhood surrounding the Stratosphere. When you go in you get the gist of it. Looks dirty, worn and with a somewhat sleaziness that can be unsettling to someone who appreciates more. BUT.... They serve $3.50 Bloody Mary's so I was hooked. The beer was for $1 and the bartenders were nice. Had no issue with anyone who was there. Had a buffet or some sort of food options I didn't explore. FOR ME....the drinks were enough to be A-OK. It's location is convenient (If it were anywhere else I doubt I'd even set foot inside). While the Bloody Mary wasn't the strongest, it was enough for me to keep things moving. read more

This place is one of the last bastians of gritty old Vegas. I like it for what it is, not what I want it to be. It's not new vintage... like El Cortez old vegas, which has a vintage theme that it plays to the hilt, or the Plaza which plays up the vintage swankiness. This place is just gritty and basically and after thought. Now thats not to say its bad. On the contrary. Its akin to what the Gold Spike was circa 2002. Gritty, smokey and charming in the crustiest way possible...you know before it became a landing post for the the PBR and beanie and indie rock crowd. Or the Western before it became a shell used to hock Life is Beautiful every year. Anyway, I like it. Its a nice place to lay low. Also, unlike many places on the strip now, still has a relative theme it carries through. Note the Aztec dieties on the wall, shrouded in smoke, or the intricate design on the well worn, albeit stained carpeting. The place is right across from the Stratosphere so the usual crowd is to be expected. I mean its a known fact the neighborhood directly behind this place is the worst in town. However, Ive never had an incident, other then drunken aimless stares. The snack bar is okay, and you can definatly have better pho, however its a cheap alternative ,and youll seldom be hungry after, plus the staff is friendly. Keep in mind what they have to deal with before you turn into a diva and ask for prawns. This place doesn't seem long for this world to be honest, since Vegas seems so hell bent on purging the glorious grit from its soul, ignorant of the fact thats part of its essence. So if you happen to be on the north strip some bleak night and have an inexplicable craving for pho and cig smoke and people watching, come on it. i went there Thursday for a gyro sandwich. I think they must have mixed up in my sandwich because there was no dill. There were pickles in my sandwich. There was very little meat. For a little seedy place next to the stratosphere hotel, the food here is VERY good. My girlfriend got the chicken with mixed veggies and I got the Philly cheese steak which was really good. Then the security guard comes by and then tells us to stand back and he will get us a refund because the machine wasn't working. THen he comes back and doesn't give us the refund and tells us the leave. We short money and left without printing out tickets. This place reminds me a a hole in the wall seen in a Vampire movie. The people were nice. Avoid the timeshare people since they are not honest. Alex the owner did not even try to resolve the mis communication made by his staff and Michael tried too change offer to our disadvantage. My opinion of cons. They offer a dinner vouchers but in fact it's a restaurant.com discount certificate which most of the certificates were out of stock, and not at value in which they offer you for attending a presentation. I walked outside the main entrance of the Stratosphere and found this diamond in the rough. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing spectacular about the place, but the prices are actually affordable, which is a rare jewel in the tourist areas of Las Vegas. I stopped here for food twice on my trip, once for breakfast, and again for the pizza buffet, and was glad I found such an affordable place close to my hotel. I even stopped by the Subway at the Circus Circus and couldn't believe they wanted $10 for a footlong. This place is a must for a budget minded traveler staying at the Stratosphere. The omelet was decent sized, and the pizza buffet had huge amounts of salad and pasta as well. I only wish that the Casino section of the establishment had some low stakes table games as well. I would certainly have preferred to hand a small operation like this my money as opposed to the big casinos. read more
