We were there a long time ago (2019!), we had a delicious and quiet meal here, in the beating heart of beautiful Ortigia island. Service was fast and efficient, and the selection of Sicilian wines was awesome. I had the eggplant caponata which was wonderful. But, the menu here changes almost daily so I don't know if that'll be an option when you come here. Still, everything was tasty, well-seasoned, and flavorful. Prices were very reasonable and the ambience was delightful. I hope you come and try it out too!

We were started off with excellent bread, caper berries, fava beans and hard boiled eggs. The carafes of Nero d'Avola were solid and a great value. We shared a bunch of dishes in order to try as many things as possible. Sicilians have a way with eggplant and their eggplant parmesan was deeply flavored without being heavy. The caprese salad and caponata were excellent. The fried mushrooms weren't quite up the the level of the other appetizers. The pasta a la Norma was excellent. The spaghettini Siciliana was interesting and good. The spaghetti with garlic, oil and chili was OK. This was a nice way to immerse ourselves in the local vibe.

Alessandro (restaurant owner) welcomed us with open arms and a big smile. Started out our meal with a nice Sicilian made Rose wine. This wine tasted amazing. I wish I could bring a case home. Ordered some antipasto platters. The bruschette on the fresh made bread crustini's the artichoke spread was my favorite. But all 3 spreads were delicious. I have never had such a more delectable unique pesto in my life. I made sure to clean my plate with the fresh made bread afterwards. The dessert... oh wow... this tiramisu was amazing. Unlike anything I've ever had before. And I want more. This was exactly the authentic Sicilian food experience that I was looking for.

It parted at the slightest pressure from my knife. They serve you the whole beast, laid on a thin bed of mashed potatoes. The sea bass (fish of the day) was much more flavorful than I was expecting. It is slathered in olives and small tomatoes. The one downside, there were a lot of bones in the fish. The stuffed, rolled swordfish was exceptional. It was sweet and meaty at the same time. The flavor almost reminds one of steak. The filling was not at all overpowering, as the menu description had initially led me to fear. I also imbibed a very nice beer: Ortyx Giudecca, from the region of Etna. We also shared a strawberry & cream-based dessert.
