Took my dog there for an evaluation and playday. During the introduction/tour owner showed a long…read moreflexible pole with loose strips on end of it and said they will carry it and use by swinging it in front of them to keep the dogs from rushing the gates and to keep them in line if necessary; may touch dog on hind with it to get them to move or listen. Also said they may use a spray bottle with vinegar and something else in it or hose to squirt dogs to stop an interaction. Watched the cameras ALL the time and saw some disturbing things. One dog was literally kicked/pushed with a worker's foot on the hind end to get it up and moving out of the kennel. Another dog was struck what appeared to be hard on the hind end with that pole end; appearing as if he went the wrong way. The pole was swung very quickly in front of a worker to move dogs back like she said it would be; some of them cowered at it...have seen that reaction prior in dogs that have been struck. Too many dogs in play areas at same time for my liking. AND all they seemed to do was meander about and follow the worker around the yard; once in a great while the worker would pet a dog and then push others away that also wanted petting/attention. Pretty sad. Owner talks a good line about dog psychology and treatment when you inquire. These are observations by an owner, and if it had been my dog that had the interactions above with staff, I would have been there immediately. And by the way, you have no idea what my background/knowledge/training is... You are right, you don't send dogs home injured or needing vet care due to problems or interactions with other dogs. You keep the dogs safe. Your tactics are just not agreeable with me.

I'll tell you what. Reviews on google and Yelp were up &…read moredown. But Chris was hands down accommodating. He was able to fit Riley in, for a bath & nail trim. She's a very timid girl, however Chris had loads of patience for her. I'm extremely pleased. He didn't rush Riley. He took his time with her and it makes me happy . Chris even went inside the large kennel he placed her in, to literally let her ease up to him. I say if you're thinking about going to Chris, but the reviews have you weary..go with your gut. I did and we're 100% happy with him and how gorgeous our gal is!

First of all, this place had one of the best groomers in the day. So sorry Jess is gone. My dogs…read morehave been groomed here for ~6 years. After Jess left things definitely went downhill. The last time I had the dogs groomed the owner spent most of the time complaining about being understaffed and of all the large designer breeds coming in since Covid. This time he joked with me about having his personal phone number and that his girlfriend would be jealous if I called it. Weird. Today was surreal. I dropped my dogs off at noon. Chris literally dragged my dogs by the leash into the back room. Yikes. I said I wasn't really happy with the last cut because the muzzle made my Cavachon look like a fox. I had asked for a puppy cut. My female Cavachon always came out okay. I brought some pictures of his cut from previous years as an example. I definately wanted his muzzle to remain long. Chris called it a teddy bear cut. Fast forward on hour and Chris calls to say they would have to shave the muzzle or it would cost $10 each to demat both dogs. I know my female did not have mats. Maybe the male did. I said I definitely don't want them shaved so just cut the rest of the animals and I will take care of the face. Well, Chris lost it on me. He told me that he didn't want to cut my dogs anyway so come and pick them up. Are you kidding? That's some horrible customer service. Chris is a New Yorker as am I. Yes, we are edgy but as a business owner myself, you have to suck it up and remember that the customer is always right. Rude is unacceptable. As another reviewer stated - I can only imagine how they treat the dogs if they can be so nasty to the human paying. I feel like I was spared something aweful and have to believe my pups are better off. It was a crappy beginning to my birthday. Chris - if you actually like animals, stick with them and hire someone pleasant to answer the phone and greet guests. You shame us northerners.
