Beds are tiny and super soft. I'm small and its a tight fit for two of us. Breakfast is included and served 8-10. It's a nice spread with bread, cheeses, jams, fruits, eggs, bacon, cereals and much more. Back behind the hotel is a nice pool with plenty of outdoor seating. Grab a towel at the front desk. Bottom line, it is A OK.

Upon check in, no…read morebell hop to assist with luggage and we are told we had to purchase two meals per person per day to eat at their facility at 30 euro each! Plus 15 euro a day for parking your car. They would not let us cancel reservation or at least stay one night and move on to another location! If you are going to charge this much for buffet food it should not be cold and made in mass quantities and taste like its a frozen dinner! Plus they don't have designated seating areas and we had to sit next to screaming babies and kids that were running around. Then you have the wait staff who look like they are unhappy and underpaid and don't appropriately bus the tables. Lastly, the waitress even told us if we want hot water to go to the microwave to heat it. Not a communication problem because two family members are fluent in Spanish as their native language!!! Horrible waitstaff service! To the manager, please don't say you look forward to making our stay better upon our next visit because that won't happen! We will ensure our friends and family know your properties are only about the money and not the guest. Can't wait to checkout in the morning and go to a hotel that wants their guest to feel welcomed and appreciated. Shame on your company for not having a better policy with a guaranteed nice stay and for holding us hostage to stay at your facility and forced to eat your mediocre food that is cold and undercooked with grumpy staff! Avoid this place unless you like to pay a faculty to treat you crappy and eat poor food, and sleep on poor quality beds. On a positive e note facility is visually appealing but do t be fooled!

In this case the architecture is exceptional, and it occupies the strategic site of the desesperad Ayamonte fortress. The architecture retains its geometry, and provides the hotel with exceptional views onto the impressive Guadiana river. The decoration has not changed since it opened and that makes really elegant, refined and different. Service is impecable and its restaurant's menus are an opportunity to know more about the gastronomy of Andalucía. Most important, a very economic option for such a luxury service. Don't miss it!

The course is very nice, Jack Nicklaus standards as far as layout, well kept fairways and greens. Took a while to drive to it, and through bit run down areas, but once you get to it, it is enjoyable! Ate at the lounge, nice piri-piri chicken and excellent mac and cheese! The customer service is top class, and the cart boys etc were extremely courteous and friendly!

We also were excited due to the newly remodeled notification we found online stating 2016. Upon check-in we decided to check our room prior to bringing our heavy bags across the resort, since there are no luggage assistance. We were exhausted from 14hrs of traveling and needed to rest soon. Our room was nice and remodeled at first glance, no thrills but just nice and beds seemingly comfortable. As we were walking out we noticed a stain on the couch much like that of bodily fluids... yuck. So we told the front desk who assigned us to a new room. Take two! Before even walking in we could smell the cigarette smoke emanating from the room. Oh no... I'm a recovered smoker and the smell makes me nauseated. Back to reception, now annoyed. She apologized and instructed us to a 3rd room after speaking with housekeeping. We figured we needed to try it again since we didn't see another option, might I add this is now over 1hr of walking around the property with our luggage since the parking is only free for 30min beyond that you will be charged. Take three! This room had a intoxicating smell of harsh chemical cleaners, no exaggeration 2mins inside and both of our throats became irritated. We are now close to breaking down for exhaustion. Marco the GM was finally made aware of this terrible performance and came out to greet us. Honestly too late in our option as our experience was completely ruined. We realized we needed to advocate for our selves and thus contacted hotels.com who we booked the "four star resort" through. Glad to say Hotels.com actually knows hospitality and helped us change over to Meliã down the road. Thank you Hotels.com. Conclusion, do not stay at Barceló due to the price, after all of the add on expenses you will be paying an average of €30-40/night more than Meliã down the road which is amazing hospitality focused real resort. Meliã has no charges for safety deposit boxes (Barceló charges €20 deposit + €5/day), no parking fee of €15/day, no pool towel deposit of €10/each.... the list goes on. Our vacation was saved and we thank the amazing staff at Meliã and hotels.com for rescuing us at a time of need. Total time wasted touring 7 sub-par rooms at Barceló: 2:45hrs Enjoy your vacations!
