Not memorable, but it did have some diced up apples which made it more unique. The store was dead which is unfortunate as it t has great potential. Friendly service.

But honestly, I just want to share this place with the world because it's truly something special. Plenty of places have a "Santa" visit for the holidays... but Bellewood? They get THE real Santa Claus. The real deal. And would the real Santa charge? Nope! Free visits and free photo Saturdays and Sundays in December from noon to 4pm. And that's only the beginning. Bellewood is buzzing this time of year: Tons of apples (and they ship to out-of-state family and friends!) New spirits coming out of their distillery Unique gifts, ornaments, and goodies for everyone (lots of local vendors stuff here!) A cozy spot to settle in with a coffee and escape the chaos of the season As for me? I come for the weekend meals breakfast and lunch are always amazing. We also grab our favorite cottage pie for easy dinners when we don't feel like cooking. And don't even get me started on their frozen meatballs... lifesavers on busy weeknights and absolutely delicious. One of my favorite times to visit is early in the season or during the off-season. It's peaceful, the coffee is hot (free refills) and the view of Mt. Baker (or even the clouds) is beautiful. And the service? Simply the BEST around. Truly. Bellewood isn't just a place it's an experience, and one I'm grateful to have right here in our community.

Its only downfall is that it is…read moreactually hidden, tucked away in the industrial district off Iron Gate St. Our guests weren't sure they were in the right place when they arrived. However, no one got lost. Baker Creek Place is the best priced venue in Bellingham by far. For less than $1500, you can rent the entire building on a Saturday (the ball room plus the two meeting rooms) and get in at noon on Friday to set up. The rental includes tables and chairs for 200. If the venue isn't booked the Sunday after your wedding you can leave everything overnight and clean up the next morning. Angie, who oversees reservations, is a dream to work with. She responded to emails promptly and answered all our questions effectively. She arranged multiple tours of the venue for us, both before and after we had reserved it. It was helpful to be able to tour the venue more than once before booking and to get back inside closer to the wedding. The venue itself is a blank slate. There isn't much decoration in the ballroom so you can dress it up or down to suit your wedding vision. I was going for a more causal feel so most of my decorations were on the tables. Even with my minimal decoration the ballroom looked beautiful. We had 17 round tables set up plus a few for our vendors. There was ample room for our 140 guest to move around and a 12 x 12 dance floor. We got married in July so we chose to have the ceremony outside and I'm so glad we did. The trees behind the venue are a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding ceremony. They didn't look like much when I booked the venue in the winter, but on my wedding day the trees were stunning. Thank you Baker Creek Place! You made our wedding amazing!

I like Springhill Suites because there is value in the price and because it is Marriott brand it is invariably clean and well-managed. This Springhill Suites, like all of them, offer oversized rooms with a large sofa, a work station, and a mini-frig and microwave. In the room we stayed, the toilet was separate from the main sink and shower. This hotel also has a large fitness workout area, a heated pool and hot tub. Free breakfast is included in the price and it is pretty extensive so there is something for everyone. Best of all, the hotel is quiet. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Free parking. The hotel caters to families so there are kids to make friends with in the pool. The only negative is that this hotel is physically attached to another Marriott property. You literally walk down the hall and go from one hotel to another. You can get on the elevator in one hotel and get off in another. It is rather easy (at least for me) to get lost as to which hotel I am in and where to go. Sometimes it seems like a maze. The hotel personnel is friendly. Overall, this hotel fit our needs perfectly. It is not necessarily upscale but the price is good, the hotel is clean and well-maintained, and the location is convenient to the city center and the myriad outdoor activities in Bellingham.

This hotel had a very comfortable room, and do not use scents in the lobby or other common areas. The room was clean, and we had a small dog with us The hotel staff was very approachable and helpful locating a suitable, quiet-enough room that met all our needs--with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. That type of room is only available on the traffic side of the hotel, so I recommend asking for a high floor, it makes a big difference. They also had a laundry room with four machines that did not require payment of any kind. It was really handy to do laundry while having breakfast or sitting in the hot tub. Usually when one hears that there is a free breakfast, its the usual scrambled eggs and some kind of meat to go along with it. This hotel went beyond that expectation with a very good crustless quiche that was the size of a cupcake, and for those who eat meat, a biscuit, ham and cheese sandwich. Also more juice selections beyond orange juice, and a very responsive staff that refilled anything they ran out of almost immediately. The dining area had a relaxing view of some trees, and for warmer weather, an outdoor area to sit. I also used the jacuzzi that was not too overloaded with chemicals, and was actually hot instead of warm like a bath tub, like many hotels keep the water. The pool was L-shaped, and big enough to do some laps for exercise. Both together indoors.

It was surface…read moreclean-ish, but there was a bunch of fur build up in the corners and crevices of the room, behind the bed, etc. Housekeeping is definitely not cleaning with the vacuum wand to get the corners and is not moving the bed to clean under or behind it. I inspected the room for signs of bedbugs when we first arrived and found none. (Whew!) When packing up to leave I saw a carpet beetle larvae crawling on the wall near the night stand. I was alarmed and tore the bed apart only to find another fat larvae crawling between the box spring and mattress. There was an exoskeleton on the windowsill too. I battled carpet beetles over a decade ago after moving into an infested apartment, so I am familiar with what a nightmare they are. We reported the issue to the front desk and got an apology and 5000 points added to our account. That's it. Fast forward 3 weeks. Despite quarantining everything we took with us on the trip and giving things a good wash and vacuum before they were brought into the house, we are now dealing with the beginnings of a carpet beetle infestation in our home. Ive found about 20 larvae this last week. I've spent the last weekend vacuuming everything thoroughly and have an exterminator coming out later this week to treat our home so we hopefully get on top of this. Beyond the cleanliness and carpet beetle issue, the hotel amenities were nice and the staff were friendly, so I gave two stars for that.... Now we get to spend time daily trying not to freak out over this potential infestation in my home and cleaning everything deeply again, and again, and again... What a nightmare. :(
