There was no up-selling going on and the doctor seemed reluctant to encourage medication use-- he really was pushing for lifestyle changes, which I really liked. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of the lack of organization. There was just not enough staff for the amount of traffic coming in and out of the place. Aside from the doctor, there was literally one other person and she was doing her best to be the front desk for arrivals, answering the phones, and all while also being the nurse that has to administer shots, weigh you and take your blood pressure. There was somebody already waiting when I first arrived and she ended up walking out about 20 minutes later because she got tired of waiting. I arrived 15 minutes early as requested since it was my first visit and I'd have paperwork to complete before meeting with the doctor --but I wasn't seen until about 35 minutes after my appointment time had passed. The delay was in no part due to anyone slacking...I could definitely see the doctor and the front desk lady very busy and moving around. It's just the lack of staff in my opinion. I never got my ID back amidst all the chaos which is partly my fault for not remembering, but I definitely think if the girl in the front wasn't being stretched so thin she would've remembered to give my ID back to me. I had to drive back the next day to pick it up, and the girl at the front desk (a different person) was very apologetic for the inconvenience. It didn't seem busy at all when I came to get my ID so maybe I just caught them on a bad day. The clinic is located in the Sweetwater Plaza right next to a dance studio. There's a Wells Fargo ATM steps away from the clinic office. All of the parking spots right in front of the office are 30 minute parking only, but there are plenty of spots in the plaza with no time limit.

I told him that his staff shouldn't have told me to come back and waste my time. He responded by saying his time is valuable too. Um, you work here - what else are you going to be doing and this is your job? He also said his staff doesn't set the "gold standard". Well then don't have them communicate to patients!! He then proceeded to tell me my injection would be complimentary, and then explained to me what complimentary means!!! I couldn't believe how insulting he was. I bit my tongue! I left, got a refund through Groupon, because I couldn't stand speaking to him anymore. He needs to think about the way he speaks to other people and maybe take a class on communication. I filed a formal complaint with the VA Patient Advocate's Office and also reported my former primary care provider and nurse to the Medical Board of California due to serious concerns about malpractice. If you need lab work, be prepared to wait up to two hours for a simple blood draw. Completely unacceptable. As a veteran with PTSD, this clinic environment triggers anxiety rather than providing care or support. This place has caused me more stress than help. It was super easy and convenient. When we arrived upstairs we were welcomed by an unexpected visitor- Winnie (Labrador/therapy dog). She was absolutely adorable and definitely put a smile on my grandmother's face. Therapy dogs in hospitals provide significant emotional, psychological, and physical benefits to patients, families, and healthcare staff through structured animal-assisted visits and therapy sessions. Very grateful for the support that Scripps staff and volunteers provide both medically and emotionally. I know my grandmother is in good hands!

His pricing was significantly better than what the dealership quoted me, but what really stood out wasn't just the price--it was his honesty. I came in with a humming noise that I believed was a bad wheel bearing but was unsure. Alex was upfront from the beginning after making the same diagnosis and even encouraged me to get quotes from other mechanics if it made me feel more comfortable so I could make sure I was getting a fair deal. That kind of confidence and transparency is hard to find. When I arrived, he was able to get my car in within about 30 minutes to diagnose it. While the part was being delivered, I went to lunch, and once I came back, he had the wheel bearing replaced in about 45 minutes. Before I left, he took the time to show me both the old and new wheel bearings, explaining how they worked and letting me hear and feel the difference. I really appreciated him taking the time to educate me instead of just handing me a bill. One thing I noticed while I was waiting was how many customers came in who clearly knew Alex. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to see him, several appeared to be repeat customers, and there was an obvious level of trust between them. After my own experience, I completely understand why. Alex also has a great sense of humor, which made the whole experience much less stressful. Most importantly, the humming noise is completely gone, and my car drives perfectly again. I wanted only recommended Subaru oils, antifreeze, spark plugs, etc. Value followed the manufacture's recommendations, which I was very happy. The maintenance was done in a few hours. The prices are competitive, but the trustworthiness is superior. This a great company.
