I brought in an off-the-rack boat cover for an alteration. We needed it to be fitted to our boat & done quickly - Awada was able to meet our needs. Boat dealers required us to leave our boat & cover for 4-6 weeks to do the alteration - during the summer! Not an option for us. But we needed the alteration done, so we searched for traditional tailors. Awada was upfront that they hadn't worked on a boat cover before, but took it on. The final alteration addressed the problem and met our expectations. Not a perfect fit, but that'd be impossible without having the boat to fit it. They were very speedy, took only 4 days from drop off to pick up. read more

Amazing service! This was my first time trying this place out + I won't be going anywhere else. I called Ali to see about fixing an inseam on my jumpsuit I needed within a few hours -- he delivered that plus more! Such a nice guy + my jumpsuit is so much better. I would give 10+ stars if I could! read more

The best in Toledo! He is very good with all fabrics. Reasonably priced for excellent quality!

I brought in a dress that needed a new zipper and a seam repair. The repairs were perfect, and the price was reasonable.

I drove over an hour to this tailor. Not only was he professional but extremely friendly. He totally took apart the item that I had and rebuilt it. Excellent job can't even tell that he did it! I highly recommend him if you ever need something altered. Will be coming back read more

I had a custom-made Brooks Brothers' blazer and slacks that were too loose after I had lost 20-25 pounds. Mr. Awada made them fit as well or better than when I had originally had them made. I asked to get them back in two weeks and they were done on time. Beyond his tailoring skills, he is extremely pleasant to work with. As several other reviewers note, he is a great guy. I am so glad to have a tailor I can trust with absolutely any garment. Selfishly, I am hopeful that he does not retire before I quit wearing tailored clothing. read more

I'm new to the area and had to trust reviews when selecting a tailor. I'm so glad I did. I had an evening gown with lots of fabric and sequins for my elopement that needed alterations to the shoulders and the hem taken up about six inches. I knew it would be a lot of work and I needed it in a RUSH. Honestly, I expected to be politely turned away. Mr. Awada (no clue if that's the man's actual name...) was so kind. This is a man who treats his customers like family. His warmth, care, and humor is unique to experience these days. Working with him was the turning point that really got me excited for my wedding. He was like a friend and a stand-in dad, and that's not to mention the high quality of his work. This was the best experience I could have hoped for and I cannot recommend Awada Tailors enough. read more

Awada Tailors - He did a amazing job - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Toledo, Ohio

Top notch service. Had sleeves for a suit tailored to custom length. 10/10 would definitely recommend

Mr. Awada is a true tailor, great proprietor, and good person. My wife made the recommendation, remembering the family from her youth in West Toledo. I'm so happy she did. Awada Tailors worked a rush for me on 2 suits, an extra jacket, and two extra pairs of pants.... Only had a week before I needed to pickup ahead of a conference overseas. The attention paid to fitting gave me confidence when I dropped off, and the results did not disappoint! The conversation and human interaction Mr. Awada offered made it an even more memorable experience. Make the time to check this place out, even if you think you already have an A-Class tailor! read more

Best tailor I've been to. He was very funny, well priced, hospitable, and prompt to get my work done on such short notice. If I could give a million stars I would. Very unique and rewarding experience read more

He's the best. Period. He altered 4 suits for me and it wasn't an easy ask. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. He's also a great guy. I strongly recommend his services. read more

Amazing service, top notch work, great price. Usually you get two out of three... here you get all three.

They did an absolutelying beautiful job hemming my daughter's prom dress. It was a long dress with six layers, she is very petite, and I knew it would be a bit complicated. Thanks for doing beautiful work! She had a great time! read more

I can sew. I hem pants, alter dresses, take in this and that to the point where family members depend on me for a little favor. That being said I know when to call in a professional for a project beyond myself. The project I speak of is taking my father's wedding suit coat and tailoring it complete with a "new" lining salvaged from my late husband's overcoat. It was a tall order, which was why when Dino of Pasquale & Sons Shoe--another great Toledo gem--referred me to Awada Tailors, I was reassured entrusting my family heirlooms to Ali Awada. He made the coat fit like a glove, restored the worn cuff, and created a lining complete with details that included creating an interior pocket and preserving the B.R. Baker insignia (more family history). It's an amazing vintage piece of art now and even though it was an expensive undertaking, it's like getting a warm hug from two great guys from my past when I don this family treasure. Trust is a big deal when handing over clothing you love, and when the items are irreplaceable even more so. So glad I went to Ali Awada, my new tailor of choice. read more

Awada Tailoring is the best in the area, hands down. Whether it's a wedding dress, pair of jeans or a suit you won't be disappointed. You may not get the best price in the area, but you'll get the highest quality. I would associate tailoring with tattoos... A good tailor is not cheap, and a cheap tailor is not good. read more

Truly the best tailor around! Actually when I lived in AZ I'd save my alterations until I visited family in Toledo. I currently live in Dayton area and still bring my stuff up,to him. Ali is very friendly and always remembers his customers. Every time I'm there and someone else walks in they also express their pleasure with his work and service. He does all my suits and does a quality job for a reasonable price. He also has a very unique way of alterations on jeans by keeping the original bottoms if you want to keep the "look". Awada Tailors is a must use! read more

Mr. Awada is extremely nice, and extremely good at what he does. I brought a suit to a family friend for some alterations, and she completely messed up (and cut!) the back seam. He was able to fix that, and completely tailor my suit and pants on short notice and to perfection. I will definitely be back to get all the suits my dad handed down to me fitted. Like some of the reviewers may have mentioned, the quality and skill at Awada does come at a price. It should be noted that his prices are significantly lower than what you would have to pay for the sane level of quality and experience. Compared to other tailors Awada is an excellent deal! read more

I recently took a bridesmaid dress into Awada Tailors and needed a short turn around time. On top of that a few days after I took in the dress, my husband took in a pair of suit pants and needed them back in even a shorter amount of time. Mr. Awada not only got them back to us quickly, but also tailored them perfectly! Mr. Awada is the best tailor I have come across and by far the best tailor in the Toledo area! His prices are on point too! read more

I highly recommend this place for any alteration needs. Got my winter coat zipper fixed here and that saved me from having to buy a new one. The tailor did a great job, did it fast, a really nice guy. read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about Ali and his work. When I used to live in Toledo I would go to and send customers (I worked in retail) to him all the time. Everyone always had amazing things to say. But the best thing I can say about his work is how he saved my wedding dress. I flew in from LA a week before my wedding with a dress that was not fitting the way I wanted it to. I was devastated. I went into Ali and he was happy to tailor my dress the way I wanted AND also hemmed my reception dress. When I went in to pick up my dress the day before my wedding and tried it on, I looked in the mirror and cried of happiness because I loved the way I looked. I had not had that moment with my dress yet. I'd also like to add that I'm a stylist in LA and work with top tailors in the industry/red carpet. He is one of the best tailors I have worked with. He understands the body and garment construction. Something I can't say about many tailors anywhere. Toledo is so lucky to have him. Thank you Ali for saving me and my wedding! read more

This is the most courteous tailor I have ever met. He is as skilled as a tailor as he is polite. We needed a rush job on some suits and he delivered. read more

I won't bring my clothing to anyone else for alterations!! He is the absolute best and is so knowledgeable. He finds ways to make your clothing look even better on you, alterations that I didn't see that were needed. read more

I came to Mr Awada with an emergency alteration on my dress the day before my wedding. The tailor I originally took it to did nothing after he'd had it for a week. I called Mr Awada because of his reviews here and he said to bring it up, we'll see what we can do. He did the fitting, said he'd be able to do it, and had everything done within the hour. He was already working on pulling the seams while we were talking. In our conversation I mentioned I still l hadn't found the right color tie for my fiancé, so he made some calls and set me up with Diamonds, who had the perfect tie ready to go when I walked in the door. Mr Awada did an AMAZING job on my dress, even under the time crunch and saved my wedding day. I will be bringing any and all alterations here from now on. read more

I went here for alterations for my prom dress as well as my sister's 5 layer princess ball gown. My sister and I were getting sleeves on our dresses because they are or shall I say WERE strapless. Mr awada came up with a cheep way to put on sleeves using the ribbon we had for our corsages and boutinere. He trimmed the once long dress to fit me as well as my sisters for her. Mr Awada is very friendly and does his job more than excellent. When I had originally gotten my dress, some seams were not sewn down good enough. Mr awada sewed it up and made it better than the condition in when I had originally gotten the dress. I would definitely come back in the future for all of my future tailoring needs. A good meal is made with the finest ingredients and isn't cheap A good tailoring job is made with the finest thread and isn't cheap as well. And Mr Awada certainly did an outstanding job with both of the dresses. read more

Such a great business!!!! Ali is so personable and friendly! Beyond happy with the work and so very glad I found a great local tailor!!! Definitely need to bring your clothing here!!!! read more

He does an amazing job. I needed a suit jacket tailored for an upcoming wedding and based on other reviews decided to take it here. I'm glad I did. He was friendly, timely, and most importantly he does a great job. He takes the time to explain to you what needs done and how he will do it. I would not hesitate to take anything to him. read more

Ali was personable, professional, and met my expectations. I had 2 pairs of men's suit pants that I needed let out. Ali did a great job and was able to meet my compressed timeline of 3 1/2 days so that the pants were ready when I needed them. I definitely recommend Awada Tailors. read more

I flew in from Phoenix, Az with two pairs of shorts that had some rips that needed some serious stitching. Ali took care of me without hesitation. He finished my shorts super fast and he was very reasonable as well as very friendly. I don't know if I'll be back again....but if life brings me to Toledo you can I'll stop by to get my clothes altered. read more

Mr. Awada is wonderful! I needed so many alterations to a maid of honor gown and he not only changed it many times for me to help make it fit (classically, it was an ill-fitting and unattractive gown chosen by the bride) he accommodated a somewhat compressed timeline and an urgent re-visit to try to make some last minute changes. A friendly, personable, and very talented tailor I would recommend to anyone. read more

Anyone can paint, but not everyone is an artist. Ali Awada is a master, and his medium is clothing. He understands how clothing is made and his alterations involve reconstruction; and in some cases, recreation. His work is consistent and of the highest quality. His talent alone could make him a success, but what is extra special, is he builds relationships with his patrons. His curiosity and care about his customer's families is genuine. The love and pride he possesses for his own family is palpable. Ali operates his business ethically and with integrity. I would recommend him over and over and over again. read more

Went to see Ali cause of the great reviews I read, and I wasn't disappointed. He was really accommodating and was able to take my two suit and finish them in a week. Great work and customer service. If you're in Toledo and need something tailored, you should definitely check him out. read more

Fantastic, straight forward tailoring. He uses original hems and looks at all areas of the clothing to make it the best fit. Overall, he costs a bit more, but is well worth the price and the wait. I brought a suit in that was tailored elsewhere and he made it look perfect, fixing all of their mix-ups. I also used to go to alterations express, which ruined many of my pants. I'll be bringing all of my future tailoring needs to Ali. read more

We had our buffalo check drapes for our sliding glass door shortened and asked Mr. Awada to combine the 4 panels into 2. He aligned the checks perfectly and did a great job. I highly recommend him! read more

This place was amazing. I had a formal dress with a ton of intricate details and needed taken in quite a bit. Then to top it all off, I needed it done in a week. It turned out absolutely AMAZING!!! Fits me like a glove, looks beautiful and I couldn't have asked for more! It was a little pricey but for the complicated dress and short time frame, it was totally warranted. USE THIS PLACE!! read more

Amazing work, extremely fast. I'll never go anywhere else. He even took time to teach me what to look for when I buy pants as to limit the alterations required. read more

Mr. Awada is one of the best tailors I have come across and my go to in Toledo. He does great work and is flexible with his time. I would recommend him to anyone in the area. read more

He may do good work but he's incredibly over priced, I asked for an estimate and the owner had an excuse as to why he couldn't give me one- I should've walked out, but I didn't. I went back to pick up my dress and the alterations were over a hundred dollars to have a dress taken in an inch. He tried to tell me that he gave me a deal, I will not be returning. There are other places just as good with reasonable prices. read more

There are not enough great things I can say! I'm from Texas and came in for a wedding the next day. My zipper completely broke on my bridesmaids dress. I called in, went right in, and the Tailor fixed my zipper then and there! Completely saved the day! I definitely recommend this place! read more
