I booked her about a year in advance and she checked in periodically throughout that year. We had several interactions leading up to the day (phone, email, in person) where she spent time helping me plan the ends and odds of my wedding, she even helped me come up with my wedding timeline. A little over a decade ago, I was searching for a photographer in the Washington DC area who would…read morebe able to take proposal photos as a surprise to my now wife. Jae was one of the photographers who reached out and ultimately the one I ended up going with. Looking back, it was absolutely the right choice! He was incredibly helpful in planning out the proposal and choosing the best location for our photos. He answered all of my questions and was easy to get in touch with both before and on the night of the proposal, keeping me updated and making sure everything was ready before the big moment. Our newborn photo session with Amanda was quite simply out of this world! The photos Amanda managed…read moreto take of our very fussy baby are so gorgeous. Amanda seriously has the patience of a saint. She makes crazy, sleep-deprived, new parents feel so comfortable during the shoot! The time that goes into Amanda's beautiful compositions is clear from the second you walk in the door to her studio. After consulting with you, Amanda spends hours in advance of you session setting up the little scenes so they reflect you and your little baby's taste. She is able to move through all the shots as quickly as baby allows. It's so important to understand that baby sets the pace - and that's ok! Safety and comfort are top priorities for Amanda during the shoot. Sometimes an entire hand can get photoshopped out in order to get one adorable shot. Amanda provides snacks, water and respite from the heated studio (she keeps it warm so the baby is comfortable in all the tiny little outfits). Just make sure to eat a meal beforehand as the session can last for a few hours if your baby is fussy (like my little one). Preview shots were delivered SO quickly and final photos came soon thereafter. We could not have been more pleased with our session and the photos! Worth every penny!!!
