I strongly recommend not using Avree Custom Pools.
My project started on 7/28/2025 and was not completed until 4/23/2026 -- nearly 9 months. The biggest issue was not just delay, but the combination of poor project management, broken commitments, lack of communication, and weak follow-through.
The project was not managed in a professional or proactive way. I constantly had to ask for updates, ask when crews were coming, ask what had or had not been scheduled, and follow up multiple times just to get a response. There were multiple stretches where I received no response at all for days or even weeks. In my experience, Avree did not stay on top of the project, did not communicate clearly, and did not do a good job of pushing the work to completion.
A major problem was that I often could not rely on what I was being told. There were many times when commitments were made and not kept. I was told work would happen on a certain day, that issues were being addressed, or that materials / scheduling were in progress, only to later find out that was not true, not confirmed, or not actually moving. That created constant uncertainty and made it impossible to plan around the project.
One example: at one point, I flew back to Houston early from a family trip because Avree confirmed work would be done the next day and I needed to be present. No one showed up. After multiple calls and messages from me, I was finally told later in the day that the crew would not be coming and that it would be several more days. That kind of poor coordination and disregard for a customer's time happened more than once.
The payment structure also left me in a very bad position. You have to make final payment before plaster, but there is still a lot of important work that remains after that point. In my case, once Avree had been paid, it felt like all urgency disappeared. The remaining work did not get pushed to completion unless I hounded them repeatedly.
The worst issue by far was the heater installation and inspection failure problem. Avree's plumber installed the heater and related lines incorrectly, and the project failed inspection three times because the installation did not meet manufacturer requirements. That issue dragged on for more than five months. After the third failed inspection, there was basically no real progress until I sent a formal legal demand letter by certified mail. That should never be required just to get a builder to address repeated failed inspections and finish a project.
What made that even worse was that Avree represented that they had made changes based on manufacturer guidance, but later the heater manufacturer came to the property and disabled the heater because of the way it had been installed. That was one of the clearest indications of how badly this issue had been handled.
The workmanship also fell short. I had concerns with the plaster, the finishing details on the water features, and the final venting / trim work around the heater. Even after code compliance was finally achieved, the finish quality and attention to detail were not what I expected from a custom pool builder.
By the end of this project, the amount of time, frustration, follow-up, and stress I had to absorb as the homeowner was excessive. Instead of enjoying the process, I spent months chasing people down, documenting problems, and pushing Avree to do what they should have been doing on their own.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering a pool builder in Houston to take their business elsewhere. read more
