It's a high end food store. It sells a lot of foodstuffs I'm happy to buy but one has to be careful as some of the prices are just off the scale. I've no doubt M&S honey is every bit quality as here but it's half the price of here. Why is that for comparable quality. Being double the price of M&S is something in itself.
Another thing that annoys me (am
I getting old? either this or I'm just in whinging mood) is that a lot of products have no price tag on them when it's easy to do. I will not go to a till in a shop with a product if I don't know the price. I will not go into a restaurant that does not display prices outside.
I had a look at some ingredients in their very expensive vanilla cupcakes and shocked to see palm oil and non hydrogenated oil so is the palm oil from a sustainable source and it's a pricy cup cake so where's the butter. The only E in butter is just before the R.
It's a beautiful store, it's bright, clean and enticing. I did buy some vacuum packed preserved fruits but left some goods on the shelf that I would likely have bought had they been priced.
The young server who took payment for my goods was polite and her smile was warm. She was stood idle for some time before I went to check-out so I guess she could easily have priced up a few dozen items rather than slouching had see been so inclined. Price point puts it just at 3 star. read more
