    Very pleased with the amazing service Lercy the other manager faith along with all staff they are all very professional and polite I will always continue to rent my cars and send all family and friends to this location....i highly recommend this company....they also have uber renta cars for all Connecticut residents

    Needed a car for the week and Avis made me an offer I could not refuse. The service had an air of 'I rather do nothing,' but eventually I had a pleasant conversation with the Avis employee. There was some miscommunication concerning the vehicle, but it was straightened out in no time. I left with the GMC Acadia, with all the extra's. EZ pass is available in the car for an extra $2.50 a day ($10.00 a week), and that comes in handy. The car was not cleaned when we received it, so we had to get rid of some items left in the car. However I loved driving this vehicle throughout the Northeast region, and I would consider renting from Avis again: If the price is right!

    I dropped off my rental car here, it was fast and fine. No hidden charges so meh.

    I entered this Hertz location to rent a car. I was directed there by the Avis Car Rental location…read moreadjacent to Hertz. I was told that Hertz would be able to take my debit card to rent a car, where Avis requires a credit card, which I didn't have with me. The reason I needed to rent a car was that I was in Stamford for a business meeting on Saturday, and had arrived via Amtrak, on Friday. As you may know, because of an accident on Amtrak in Bridgeport, CT, the Amtrak lines from Boston to New York City were closed indefinitely. I decided to rent a car and drive home to Washington, DC after my meeting on Saturday evening When I arrived at the Hertz office, the clerk was assisting another customer. She offered him several choices in types of cars to rent. When it was my turn, I asked if I could rent a car. She told me that there were no cars to rent. When I asked why she offered the other customer choices if there were no extra cars, she replied, "Cars are for customers only." I questioned why I wasn't considered a customer like him, and she kept repeating, "Cars are for our customers only," and "We have no cars to rent. I asked to see a manager, and she said there was none available. I asked for her name, and she said, "I don't have to give you my name," and proceeded to cover her name tag with her hair so I couldn't see it. I went on my iphone and made a reservation for a car from that Hertz location, and received a confirmation number. I showed it to the clerk, and she told me that there WAS a car available. So it was obvious that she had lied to me before. I persisted and she finally gave me her name. It was "Omaira." I was directed to a sub-compact car, and hurried to my meeting. I did not realize it at the time since it was daylight that the console light did not illuminate. For the entire 5 hour drive to Washington, DC, alone including rainstorms, I was unable to see my speed limit and my fuel gage. It was a terrifying experience. I have never had this type of customer service experience in my life, and am surprised that Hertz would provide such terrible service in a crisis situation brought about by a tragic train accident.

    I rented a Toyota pick-up from the Stamford Plaza location (the train station) on Saturday Oct. 19…read more The gas tank was only half full, and the vehicle had several dents and scratches on it (which were noted on the pink condition form). In any case we were overcharged (on two items) when we returned the car. It was impossible to get an explanation of the charges from the Budget office in Stamford. They kept telling us that the overcharge was "all taxes", which it clearly wasn't. I've tried several times to reach the office to get this resolved, but they either don't answer the phone at all, or answer and put me on an endless hold. Bottom line: this office is very sloppy and unprofessional. It's a shame, since this is the office at the Stamford train station, which makes it very convenient. You should not rent from this office -- it's the worst Budget location I've ever dealt with.

Turns out the employee was inside and forgot to take his sign down and unlock the door. Things I was NOT happy with: The employee had me sign all paperwork - including the one diagramming where damage was present on the vehicle - BEFORE the vehicle inspection. (?!) Um, WTH. The vehicle I was given was dusty and had not been cleaned out. There was used gum in the front console. Gross! If you rent from them, document everything!
