Called the day before I needed a car and they had one ready for me. I was able to pick it up in Dover and drop it off at my destination the next day. The car was clean and easy to drive. This is probably the worst rental car location that I have ever visited. They added $200 in fees to my rental and I had to go to the credit card company to reverse the charges. They literally do NOT check your gas levels so they ended up charging me $95 for a car that was full of gas upon return! I can almost promise that they do this to unsuspecting customers just to make extra profits! The manager gave me a lame excuse about using OnStar to check fuel levels - really?? Haha. Absolutely ridiculous. The car was parked out front and the guy made ZERO effort to check the car's fuel usage. When I was in there, another person was complaining about "mysterious bank fees" and they got the same BS answer that I received. Trust me. Rent at the train station. Better people and they are MUCH more honest. These guys are the WORST. read more

Just reserved a car on an hour's notice and had no issues getting the car quickly once I arrived. The person helping me was friendly and there was no line. It's a small airport and therefore small rental outpost, so I'd imagine that my experience isn't unusual. read more

I needed a car last minute and Avis/Budget was able to provide me with a quality vehicle for a great price! I was very impressed by the manager on duty, Casey. She was courteous, professional, and extremely helpful. She was fast, efficient, and helped me find the car that suited my needs for the weekend. I was able to leave my hooptie in their video-monitored, secured parking lot for three nights, free of charge too! I drove a brand new Dodge Charger, and loved every minute of it! Although returning the car was hard (because it was so awesome to drive!!) the process of doing so was very easy. My experience with this particular location surpassed my expectations and was so stress-free that this will be the only place I use for any car rental needs I may have in the future! read more

Just picked up our rental car, clerk could not have been more rude (refused to walk us to the car, said, Oh, it's around the corner, bring it back if you have a problem) and when we got the car, it's got scratches, dents, smells like someone slept in it, and this lovely smudge on the inside of the windshield. I made an online reservation to pick up a car at 4pm. I received a call the day of my reservation confirming I would pick up the car, but was told the office closes at 4pm and no one would be there when I showed up unless I came early. I was told to call customer service to resolve this, but was repeatedly left on hold and disconnected for 90 minutes in total. When I arrived at the location after they had officially closed, the woman working there was rude and initially ignored me but eventually gave me a rental car, though she rushed me through the experience and did not explain that there would be additional fees for using the e-tolling device mounted in the car. I made a reservation for a car a few months in advance of a work trip, and when my flight changed, I was unable to modify the reservation via app or online. I called customer service, and they were not helpful at all. In fact, I asked to be transferred to another representative, and the left me on hold for 10 minutes (I think to try to discourage me from talking with anyone, but that is speculation based on how unaccommodating they were). I explained multiple times how my flight had changed so I needed a car earlier (circumstances completely out of my control). They explained that because I had prepaid on my reservation, I had to pay a cancellation fee to cancel and re-book. Since they were sold out at the pick up location that day, I was not able to re-book anyway (and apparently, modification was out for a reason I still don't understand). I am a "Preferred" member through my work, and I could get no additional accommodation when they were out of vehicles and the airline changed my flight time. Really not impressed, and I think I will try to avoid Avis from now on. The only good thing I can say is the initial booking was fairly easy and the app is user-friendly. Otherwise, yikes... read more
