Do not use Avis's rental car. A few weeks ago they gave us a car that already had rock chips /dings in the windows and charged us almost $500 before notifying us that they were billing us. I would give them a -10 if I could. I made reservations and spoke with two different receptionist. One was the switch board but then I spoke with someone at the specific location I was going to pick up the vehicle who said there was a compact vehicle available and I could go to this location. I had a friend drop me off at the Kennesaw location. When I arrived the individual tells me they don't have the vehicle I made reservations for but they can get me into another vehicle for $10 more. I literally spoke with someone who said you had a compact vehicle at this location and you get there to have them bump the price up I had to contact my friend to turn around and come pick me up because Avis and Enterprise are both pathetic, worthless rental companies. The receptionist said the switch board makes the reservations without contacting them so they don't know what vehicles are at this location. How pathetic is this and what kind of business makes reservations for something and not know what is actually available. Basically they lie and are deceptive to get you to the location without having what you requested available. Then they change the price to something higher, rather then what you were given over the phone. We waited for the car to be cleaned and then the key fob had a low battery so the car would not start unless the fob was touching the start button. I rented a car almost two weeks ahead of time, got my confirmation and pick up time of 8am. I arranged my trip with the family based on this and the day of leaving, a guy called me to tell me that they do not open until 9am and they do not know if they have a car. Ok, i understand, I said, i will be there at 9am. I get there and the idiot on the front desk, treats me like im crazy and tells me that they not only do not have an electric car for me, but they do not have a car at all. I'm like, well, how can we fix this, and he is like, i dont know, you need to wait till we call you. I said that my wife and kids are waiting for me to go on a 10 hour road trip. Horrible customer service! They will charge you outlandish fee. Mystery fees! This place is a scam. If you want the worst service of your life see Merrick! He told me upon getting the rental that if have any issues do not call him. He said that he would not help me. If I have an issue to call customer service. Which I did. He states that he a twenty year employee. I rented a car to for uber. The car was not up to part. We did not do a walk around but luckily my instinct told me to make a video. The car had damages on the exterior. The back up camera didn't work properly, the charging ports through out the entire car did not work. The Bluetooth in the car did not work. The car was dirty inside and out. Windows so cloudy with smoke film. The car smelled so bad I had to buy car air freshener for the vents cup holders as well as the tree fresheners. I'm sensitive to perfumes so it was difficult in itself to have to smell so much perfume but that is how bad the original smell was that I had to try to mask it with that much. The carpet looks like some one pulled it out or replaced it with carpet that wasn't the correct fit. I had to detail the car myself. I called customer service every signal say that I had the vehicle. No one help. I was promised discount that I never received. The rental was a total of 383 per week. I had the car for two week and they charged me a total of 1020 with an explanation. I called customer service and they tried to find out why he was charging me so much and he refused to speak to them. I was advised by Avis to dispute the charges. This was a waste of my time and money. I will be seeking legal help for this. read more

Very little to complain about here. They are having cars when everyone else is struggling. They have staff of 2 running the counter when others are down to 1/2 person. The staff is good. Professional, friendly and fast. I like this location a lot now. Traveling every week, I have to have good providers. I have added this one to my list. I will say it perplexes me when there are signs saying $450 charge for smoking and pet hair while I get cars that have both and get no discount. Overall I do recommend this location. read more

We scoured Hertz, Dollar, Budget, Orbitz, direct sites, as well as every travel booking site that we could think of and we're still seeing 5-day rentals foe 800 - $1200 for midsize car or SUV. I value being frugal and checked Clark Howard travel tips, and also booking directly through AAA discount, but just couldn't come to spend that kind of money. By default we reluctantly decided to put the miles on one of our own vehicles and brave the northern snow. The local Avis Kennesaw had some sour Yelp reviews, but we decided to stop in a few hours before the trip anyway, and am very glad we did. We were greeted by a friendly Jamaican man who introduced himself as Merrick. I asked about the negative reviews, was assured that was before recent management change; hidden charges, none; overages, nope, unlimited miles, yup. Merrick even gave us the choice of two different SUV, one being a larger more expensive vehicle, for the same price, which still seemed too good to be true, since their price was nearly half of anything else we found, and we had it for a whole week. We just dropped it off, and as promised, everything Merrick said was true. We are so thankful we saved over $400, and got to extend our vacation to get a couple extra days with the family. Avoid this avis at all cost. Rented a compact car but got a suv.. ok whatever hopefully they dont try to charge me a higher rate. The SUV reaked of cherry room deodorizer to the point I rode 3 hours from kennesaw to Huntsville with the windows down because the smell was making me gag. The vehicle was trashed..... as in stained seats finger and toe nails on the floorboard, food crumbs all over the console and floor boards. Dog hair on the floor boards as well as ashes. Went in and immediately notified the girl working. She was not rude but she was not a ray of sunshine either. I showed her photos and videos to document the issues. She knew the car was dirty and her response was they tried to clean it but the person had the car a month later... yea right on the cleaning attempt. The absolute worse Avis Location I've visited. Every time I decided to give this location a chance (reasons simply because it's closest to my home) I'm disappointed and utterly dissatisfied. I'm literally in tears right now because I am in the parking lot trying to figure out a way to take my children to see my husband who was developed for the past couple of years. I was called earlier only to find out my reservation was delayed, I made two reservations because Avis is known to run out cars. I was totally fine with that given the fact that I planned accordingly for this trip and a few hours, set back wouldn't bother. After waiting for four hours, I was finally able to pick up the car. They apologize for the delay given the fact it's been raining. When I arrived at Avis, I was turned away simply because of my name. On my Military ID, it says Brown same as my credit and debit card. The manager was on site as well and he's the one who turned me away. I've never had an issue with a married name, nor my maiden name. I'll be sure to let my friends know about my experience. Never rent from this Avis!! Terrible customer service!! This past weekend I rented a car from this location and prepaid for the vehicle. When I picked up my rental I was told I had to put my card on file just in case, we did not return the car on time, which I asked the Latino lady working at the front desk, "Will my card be charged, she responded no, we only put $100 holds on debt cards." I was using American Express so I did not think there would be a problem. When I went to check my card statement, I see an additional $100 hold on my Amex account. I followed all the rental guidelines, returned my car on time, so why was there extra charges on my Amex card. Very disappointed in the service I received. Second incident: My husband wanted to rent a pick up truck, again we prepaid. When we went to pick the car up, they didn't have a pick up truck at all, in fact told us they don't rent pick up trucks. But I literally had the rental page print out and it had a picture of the pick up truck that we had reserved and prepaid for. found a good deal with this Avis through priceline. Got the receipt from avis and they charged an extra $350! Fuel charge- despite the car being returned full, energy recovery charge- despite the price quoted as 'all in', and a $250 cleaning fee. It is true that if you got close up to the seat in the back you could see a little dog hair- easily gotten up with a vacuum which they claim to do every time anyhow. I have made multiple rentals with Hertz for the same trip with the same dog and have never been charged a dime. Nice to see that in this covid time when your business is in the toilet you at AVIS still find a way to stick it to the customer. read more

I get to 2nd location the guy inform me about credit check didn't go thru weird I just rented from Avis and nothing new on my credit . Call the credit company they tell me nothing bad been added since 2015 couldn't be that. I won't rent from them again. I made the mistake of getting my car towed because I forgot to put the tag back on my dashboard after another rental. So I call them the same day expecting no more than $200 max of towing charges which would be reasonable since I couldn't get the car myself. As a loyal customer of more than a year they reward me with almost $2,000 charge to my card which they refuse to pay ($1,851.59 to be exact). Booked a deal to rent a car thru orbitz, two days prior to trip. One way trip. I couldn't pick the location in which to pick up from. Then couldn't extend drop off time. Got to car rental place, car is not ready. Couldn't RUN credit check because of debit card usage ( it's a bank card that has visa logo and can be run as credit card any where else) until they got car. Waited six hours to essentially not get car. And not be able to have secondary driver either. Called orbitz customer service to lodge complaint about issue and to get refund for pre paid insurance, which had I needed to make a claim would have to go thru orbitz, not the car insurance place, which was not explained to me at time of purchase. The insurance payment while immediately was withdrawn the refund will take several days to be applied. Customer service kept saying we have no control over the car rental place, nor it's company policies. What is the point of using orbitz to book online if they can not help to remedy the situation or be of any usage when things are not going to plan. SIX HOUR WAIT, to late to book another car, delayed my trip and will cost me an additional $400 dollars to rent a car directly thru enterprise, but honestly enterprise had the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, I have dealt with all day.
