I absolutely cannot recommend Dr. Goel enough. My dad broke his tooth and Dr. Goel provided him with multiple treatment plans at different tiers. He was in a rush to fix his smile in time for my wedding, so he went with the middle tier treatment plan and they got it done in time for the wedding. He is so happy with the results. As soon as I saw him, he flashed me a big smile. I can tell he feels more confident talking to people now and he even smiled for my wedding pictures! I was told I needed 6 crowns and some filling replaced! I went and got 2 other opinions and was told, only 2 crowns and no fillings need to be replaced. I was told I had gum disease and have to have antibiotics shot in every 3 months for life that insurance did not cover. Again, not the case according to my 2 other dr opinions. I finally caught on when they told me my son had seven cavities and he had never had any before. I would not recommend Avid for anything other than the regular cleaning. they gave me a crown in 2022 and I had to seek care elsewhere due to severe pain on the opposite molars. they do not have good x/ray equipment that is sufficient to determine the issue. I suffered for too long. finally went to a new doc that was able to determine the problem and now come to find the crown is not good. they left too much space (margins) for food to enter and infect! of course insurance won't cover a replacement for a while! read more

Do not come here for pain or procedures. I came in with tooth pain in an old filling. It was given a passing glance (the doctors seem to always be in a rush). The doctor was confusing about a path of care, I somehow was rushed into paying for a nighttime jaw device and an expensive records appointment where I was given many unnecessary scans. In the end I had no relief in pain or clear path of care besides them saying maybe I could replace the filling. I felt like they were just squeezing me for appointment time & money without a second thought. Thankfully I moved and found a dentist who listened to me, really inspected my teeth carefully, and found a small void in my old filling that is causing the pain. I now have a clear path to reducing the pain and was explained the risks in replacing the filling (he found that it is very close to my nerves). Also, turns out the device Avid gave me to pull my jaw forward is a rushed & inadequate solution - it will not help the cause of my pain and risks further damage to my jaw bone. This new doctor gives me the dental care I deserve! And I now realize the how much more pain I would endure if I had stayed at Avid. I will say Dr. Goel is very nice and knowledgeable, she just seems stretched too thin to really give the patient the care they deserve. Dr Sayali had no redeeming qualities as a dentist. Not sure how she's still working here - she is confusing, doesn't listen, and I had a filling done with her where she did not check if the anesthesia was working before drilling and it really hurt me. Horrible chair side manner & lacking skills. (ps after reading other negative reviews, it seems like problems after fillings is common here.) There are so many dental practices out there. Do your research and find one that will take better care of you than Avid can. read more

Short Story: Avid Dental is an excellent practice with a friendly & professional staff. Long Story: It had been 15 years since my last dental visit, and probably would have been 15 more if an old filling of mine hadn't decided to disintegrate on me during a particularly difficult battle with some extra crispy chicken wings. Like any good Millennial, I had no idea how to find or schedule a dentist visit, so I went on my insurance website to help. Luckily for me, one of the first choices was Avid Dental! Overall, I have had 4 visits to Avid Dental over the last 4-6 weeks, since the 15 previous years of sugary drinks & less-than-stellar self-dental care has not been good to me. After the initial visit, the prognosis ended up being a root canal, along with a series of cavity fillings. At every visit, my general trepidation to visiting dentist offices was mitigated greatly by the excellent service & care I received from the staff. From the ladies at the front desk, to Dr. Goel herself, everyone at Avid did their very best to be amicable. The Doc was particularly interested in ensuring I was comfortable during some of the more intense procedures I had to undergo, and her final work is beautiful! At the end of the day, although my experiences with dentists are.... limited, I am happy I was able to stumble into one of the best practices in town! My family had an extremely negative experience with this practice and I'd like to save others from having a similar experience. My brother had work done which led to an infection that was not detected after numerous follow up appointments. I understand that sometimes things do not go perfectly with medical procedures, but this definitely should have been caught in follow up appointments. On the first appointment with a new dentist the problem was diagnosed and sadly his tooth had to be extracted. His dental bills have now piled up beyond his insurance maximum and have to be paid out of pocket. I had positive experiences with my routine cleanings, but had negative experiences with extensive work. This practice has multiple dentists all who are not necessarily connected. So on one appointment I was given a treatment plan, but on the next appointment with a new dentist he disagreed with the plan given and said that plan should not have been recommended. I was thankful that the second dentist saved me from more dental work, but it was a very confusing experience for me as a patient and led to low confidence. I had a cavity filled and it was extremely painful (I've had cavities filled in the past, and never found it to be painful). After the filling, the area remained very sensitive. I've now gone in for two bite adjustments and neither fixed the pain. I also went in for a separate appointment and was told I was wrong and there was no way i could be feeling pain (which is a little crazy, why would i make an appointment and pay a co-pay when i feel no pain?). They did offer to redo the filling to see if that helps, but based on the outcome of my brother's case I have very little confidence in this office and will be going to a different dentist to have new x-rays and have the filling re done. It has been an expensive lesson, but I've certainly learned the importance of very carefully investigating a doctor before accepting treatment. read more

This practice was supposed to be a "preferred" provider of my wife's dental insurance company, yet claims were denied and we were charged the full amount for some services. 3 times this office said they were going to mail a treatment plan to us for more work to be done. 3 times it was not received. Twice the office has said they were going to email a treatment plan to us. Never received. After refusing to pay a $700 bill, we finally received a letter from their lawyer with the threat of legal action. Called the office again, arranged a meeting, and discussed the problems and resolution. There appears to have been an issue with the submissions and a lack of follow-up from a previous employee. Charges were resubmitted and approved and we ended up owing a much lower amount. Although I can't recommend the practice based on our experience, once we finally had a meeting and discussed, I did encounter a desire to help and resolve the issue. read more

Awesome service a friendly, family owned atmosphere. My teeth are better than ever. I had been going to another dentist in Gurnee for 10 years. They had told me that I needed something to fix some gaps between my wisdom teeth that might cause problems down the road. They never fixed it. After two visits to Aria Dental, with new personal maintenance coaching and an insurance covered deep scaling, my teeth are finally on the mend. It's a little homey in the office. They also do follow up with you to try other services which may not be included, but following through is up to you. I'm very pleased with them. I must say that this place has been good to me since day 1. When coming here the staff makes you feel welcome, and facility is very clean. Staff is very knowledgeable and they get straight to the point when somethis is wrong. They show that they really care about your health. I wish I could say this was a good dental Practice but it's not. They have replaced staff and doctors with no explanation in the middle of procedures which cause treatments to change. But the worst is their lack of ability to handle the changes that life throws our way. Then on top of that they whine and have the nerve to lecture and complain to a customer I.e. patient. There is just to much competition in the Northern Lake County area to present this kind of image and conduct this type of practice. I Recently went there for three implants. I was very pleased with the oral surgeon that place the implants and was told by my family dentist that they were very well placed. The only problem I had was with the billing department I was hit with an extra $4500 fee for the initial installation and another $169 fee for the implant tooth mounts. Emily who handles the billing talks very fast and it's very polished in doing what she is supposed to do. Apparently for regular dental work everything may be above board. Even though the oral surgeon is very passionate about what he does I would not go back there because of so many questions and variables in their billing techniques. I had a crown pop off my implant. Went back in a few days later, they recemented it, and it popped back off 2 days later, while I was eating a cheeseburger (not something chewy). I realize they have to use temp cement on implants, but 2 days is pretty ridiculous. Also, they no longer take my insurance, but they have been texting me to make an appointment, and something about a giveaway. If they're going to bug people with texts, they need to be more organized. They were OK as dentists, nothing to rave about. I went there because of location. I hated going to the dentist ever since I was young. It was somewhere I persistently refused to go. After going to Avid Dental, however, my perception of going to the dentist changed altogether. The environment, the staff, and the dentist herself had me wanting to not just go, but recommend others to go as well. My experience was great. Dr. Goel was very welcoming and listened to all my concerns and answered any questions I had. It didn't end there, she always texted me or called me to follow up on how my teeth were shifting and how they were adapting to braces. I can thoroughly say that I enjoyed going to the dentist. Absolutely love the environment and how friendly everyone is. They're super compassionate and you can tell the staff is really friendly to each other as well. I went in for a regular cleaning and it turned out I needed a temporary crown placed while I waited for a more permanent one. Generally went there for my cleanings twice a year and that was great! I got a cavity filled less than a year ago and complained of some pain associated with it. They did a fix on it and it helped a little. When I went back for my next cleaning I expressed that I still experienced pain, the dentist who filled it was the one who also did my check up and said it was probably bc I grind my teeth.
