I've had dental work done for…read morealmost all of my 50 years and unfortunately experienced my first cavity at five years old and an incredibly traumatic extraction shortly thereafter. I've been through braces and fillings and root canals, etc. I literally have fallen asleep in the adult chair because I have absolutely no fear as I've already experienced the worst they could possibly happen in a dentist's office. I have never in all of my life, experienced a dental practice and a dentist that is as invested and meticulous about my teeth as I am about my health in general. I have had major health issues - very nearly died of lupus - that made me even more acutely aware that, as this amazing dentist said, the mouth is the gateway to health or illness. I have done my homework in saving my own life and literally have doing the "impossible" as a patient at Stanford in putting my autoimmune disease in remission for over three years now. I'm so happy to find a dental practice and a dentist who will enhance my health through this critical gateway -dental wellness- and will help me through the next steps in well care. I also applaud an amazing staff, his support, and more than just dental health. I don't mean to disparage her or her character,as she was quite nice, but IMHO, Paulina botched the job. I'm afraid to go back. The filling does not merge with the tooth at the filling edges, so floss hangs up on it. And there is a bit of discomfort deep in the tooth. My new dentist recommends that he remove the filling and retreat the cavity. Dr Weems & his staff were great!!! I have used this Dental Group since college (10-20 years ago), and have been happy with Dr Weems excellent work, as has my family, ever since Dr Weems bought the practice. I do miss him. His staff is great, and it is an outstanding clean and sparking facility with new equipment. Having enjoyed (sic?) the services of 2 prior dentists at this outstanding Newport Beach location, I shall look forward to returning when the dental group engages a more qualified and experienced dentist.

After searching around for a while, I received a text letting me know I was due for a cleaning. I remembered having such a pleasant experience here before, so I decided to come back, and I'm so glad I did! The staff is beyond kind and welcoming. I don't remember my hygienist's name, but she was honestly the sweetest, most caring, and gentle person. She explained everything before doing it and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire appointment. Kindness goes a long way with me, and you can genuinely tell that she cares about her patients. I really wish I remembered her name because she was truly the best! Dr. Ha also referred me to an orthodontist because I do need braces I clench a lot and my teeth have gapped . I called the orthodontist he recommended and have an appointment next week. I'll also be coming back here to have Dr. Ha take care of my cavities. I also want to mention how clean the office is! The front desk staff has been wonderful as well. They were booked pretty far out, but they were kind enough to text me as soon as they had a cancellation so I could come in sooner. That meant a lot to me. I have pretty bad anxiety from past experiences at other dentists, but everyone here made me feel comfortable and completely put me at ease. Everyone is so welcoming, kind, and genuinely caring. SARAH, whom suppose to handle the bills, the charges,never send any papers, bills, prices,no phone calls to my insurance. They charge me 1,693.00$, which i had to pay and I did. Called Lupe, Ariali and asked them to , pass on the message to SARAH to call me back ,she never ,ever did. My ins. asked them for my medical records, they , reffused to give them the copies. I asked for the copies, they give 2 pages . Really? The crown is huge, comparing my other teeths, different color, horrible job.Sarah, you need a new job, everyone is replaceble in America. You are not helping patients, you are there to take the money from the patiens with out helping them. Sad,dissapointed. The Doctor is not the most pleasant one. I did cry in the office. I recommended them to several friends and even took an ex-boyfriend there for a ton of dental work and he said it was great. Fast forward. Dr. Watson passed away. Dr. Niven I guess picked up stakes and went to Scotland or something. New partner and new doctors added. New office was pretty, but I don't go to the dentist for the office interior. The only thing I looked forward to was getting my teeth cleaned by Susan Hardy. She did not force those ultrasonic teeth scrubby tools on me which I know makes the process faster, but it hurts like hell and I would rather chew glass. Then I found out that they let her go!!! I dunno, I guess she wasn't zipping patients through like a burgers on a conveyor belt with the ultrasonic teeth grinder thing. My husband said they pressured him to have the ultrasonic teeth grinder and then tried to upsell him on some stuff which neither of us had ever experienced and he was really surprised and weirded out. Then I got a call from some guy who I didn't know (Cari is the second reason why I went there, she was family) and he was just like, "Oh Susan is not available, you will be getting Ashley." Ummm what? So let me get this straight. You move offices further away. Yay for you for needing to add doctors to the staff, but then you (Niven) also leave and now I have Dr. Skahen, random doctors, and random hygienists who want to treat me like a burger on a conveyor belt and sell me some swag? I swear it felt like a family divorce. I had been going to Watson Niven for over twenty years and my husband nearly twenty years. I requested my records be transferred to a new office and they get me/us. They take their time like Susan used to so that they can ensure our comfort during a process most people hate. I was a little sketchy about what my new dental plan covered, and when I saw the Dr today for the first time, I discovered that the plan did not cover what I thought it did. As a courtesy, he went forward with the appointment and waived the unexpected fee. I don't see this old school level of spontaneous generosity anymore in the OC. I should also add that the staff is exceptional.
