At the Avenida at Centerra apartments, August 4, 2026, just minutes after the north elevator maintenance was completed and it was cleared for use, I boarded that elevator on the first floor. I pressed 3, where I live. It very quickly shot up past the second floor and then fell. THE ELEVATOR FELL WITH ME IN IT. The force when it hit the bottom caused an injury to the left of my spine that has grown worse over the past month. I had an MRI of the lower spine that shows a new injury. The pain is excruciating.
When I got off, I immediately called the office and they immediately shut the elevator down again for August 4th and 5th. Residents can pull up the emails from those days that address shutting down the elevator but do not mention that the elevator fell.
About 4 years ago, I lived at another Greystar property, Overture 9th& CO in Denver. I was getting out of the swimming pool after playing volleyball and the decorative slab of concrete I stepped on was loose and slid. I held tightly to the railing to avoid falling because I'd just had knee replacement surgery and lurched forward in a standing whiplash. I took a video of the broken piece of concrete later that day. By that time, Joey had put out two orange pylons. It caused injuries that have required surgeries and more are ahead. My right knee and my neck were injured and are worse now. I am in constant pain numerous places throughout my body. Greystar had a lawyer contact me and I thought he was going to work out some kind of minimal compensation. Instead, he bullied me into giving up. I couldn't afford a lawyer.
I am so angry that Avenida and Greystar's negligence and shoddy maintenance have condemned me to a lifetime of suffering and pain.
BEFORE I WENT DOWNSTAIRS TO JOIN THE VOLLEYBALL GAME, I HAD JUST SEEN JOEY, THE MAINTENANCE MAN, FROM MY APARTMENT WINDOW, WALKING THE EDGE OF THE POOL WITH THE LEAF NET. HE WOULD HAVE STEPPED ON IT.
OVERTURE AND GREYSTAR SENT JOEY AWAY UNTIL AFTER THE LAWYER WAS FINISHED WITH ME..
ADDITIONALLY, DO NOT TRUST YOUR PRIVACY WITH DEVON. HE HAS HAD AN UNPROFESSIONAL FRIENDSHIP WITH A WOMAN NAMED MIKHAELA SINCE THE BEGINNING OF HER RESIDENCY. I HAD SENT A NUMBER OF RESIDENT PORTAL MESSAGE COMMUNICATIONS TO HIM ABOUT HER BECAUSE SHE HAD BEEN TERRORIZING ME AND HE SHOWED THEM TO HER. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES, BUT ONE DAY SHE FLEW INTO THE CREATIVE ARTS ROOM WHERE I WAS WORKING AND SCREAMED THE EXACT SAME WORDS AT ME THAT WERE IN THE PREVIOUS NIGHT'S MESSAGE. SHE JABBED HER FINGER IN MY FACE REPEATEDLY AND THREATENED MY SAFETY. I TOLD DEVON AND HE REFUSED TO RESPOND. THEIR FRIENDSHIP LED HIM TO MAKE POOR, PREJUDICIAL DECISIONS IN HER FAVOR FOR OVER TWO YEARS. BECAUSE OF THAT DAY, I CAN NO LONGER USE THE ROOM. She and another resident, Brunhilda, had complete dominion over the Creative Arts room for over two years. No other activities for other residents occurred there. Their carts, boxes, materials took up most of the room and they permanently took four tables out of the six. They occasionally had events where they invited their own friends. I tried to paint there on one such day, and was told I had to leave. She was a big woman, over 6 feet. I'm 5'3". I repeatedly told Devon about the constant bullying, but he said that they don't get involved in disputes between residents. Brunhilda moved over a year ago. I repeatedly pushed the issue of inaccessibility of the Creative Arts room. After two and a half years, Avenida at Centerra finally kicked them out and had a meeting for all residents. The Creative Arts room was now a space for all residents to use.
The Creative Arts room is a different place now. It's full of colorful art, crafts and joy. Classes are constantly scheduled. Avenida has many creative folks and activities. There are shelves and walls full of residents' accomplishments. It is welcoming to all.
