I asked a couple questions and he said "no it's perfect, you're done" and didn't care if I wanted anything different. I was embarrassed walking out of there and even letting the receptionist look at me. Paid for my first ever "curly cut" that turned out to be a trim I could've and should've done myself. He pretty much talked about all the movie sets he worked on, nothing at all about my hair. Mind you, we had 2 hours blocked off and the whole thing took 20 maybe 25 minutes. I'm furious I even paid for it. I feel bad because maybe the rest of the workers are talented, the place seemed nice enough. Steven had good reviews so I was excited. Wrong. Wish I took a photo to include here, but I wouldn't let anyone else see me. Put my hair up immediately. Walked into my apartment, let me hair down, and my roommate said "what did they do to you?!?" I try to be a very reasonable person and don't like talking bad but I can't recommend this place, at least for anyone with hair like mine going to Steven. I will say the receptionist recognised the gentleman coming in after me and welcomed him with a bright smile which was nice to see they know and appreciate their regular clients. Then I found Zenaida's and was pleasantly surprised by her affordable prices! I booked an appointment right away. I had a little bit of trouble getting there on the day of because it's located in The Home Depot plaza and google said it was down a different street, but otherwise my experience was great. Zenaida owns and runs this "house turned into a salon" by herself and since it's a house it has a very comfy atmosphere. She took care of me right at my appointment time which I find that a lot of places miss that little part right away. I consulted with her on what I was going for by showing her a few pictures. She was very honest and informative in letting me know what would look best on me. The price she quoted me was very reasonable. $35 for an updo! :-) She got right to work and I was also very pleased to find she is quite the perfectionist. She made sure to get my hair style just right. She also went the extra mile and put some glitter in my hair to give it that extra something. Afterwards, she even let me do my makeup and get dressed there so I wouldn't have to drive back home! Zenaida is an excellent hairstylist and I would highly recommend stopping by!
