Debenhams are still a large store with 178 stores in The UK, Ireland and Denmark and were founded back in 1778. This branch of Debenhams is located in the Bullring mall, with enterences from both street and mall level, it is a decent sized store too. The lifts here were pretty slow, and they didn't show much signal of it working, and although it was, I didn't know it was in use, so I nearly just walked away, which was disappointing It is quite a large store with a Brow Bar, Salon and Cafe and quite a few floors as well. I didn't have any close encounters with staff to comment on, they seemed okay, just average. The signposts for what is on which floor in the store could be better advertised, this store is okay but it is nothing more than that, the building its-self isn't as nice as other department stores mentioned, and in a way it has a less high-end feel, which makes it a little less special in a way, especially to tourists and potential shoppers.

Last month I came in as I had a 5% off voucher on multiple purchases so I bought underwear on one floor, then on another day some clothes for a wedding. When I got home I inspected the receipt and worked out though it said 5% off, nothing was actually deducted! I took one dress back as I didn't wear it for a wedding and mentioned there was nothing deducted! She said it's not on all concessions ... Something the other two cashiers didn't say when scanning the clothes! I've given them four stars as I do go to the beauty department to buy skin and hair care. I do ask for samples and majority will give them .., more so with a purchase! I like to walk away with something extra!! Lol They have a beauty points card which is useful and worth collecting points. You get money off when you earn enough.

Even though they weren't super happy and chatty (although I'll give them the benefit as it was close to closing time) my experience was still enjoyable. The place was clean and it was in a convenient location right outside of the market halls. My nail polish only lasted a day or two before slowly chipping away, but unless I went for a gel, this is just the way it is. But the overall procedure of the cuticles and everything was done very well. I would go here again. Maybe I would try a gel polish next time though.

Even though I felt very uncomfortable, and felt the people were very patronising from the first step I took into the shop; I needed my nails doing. I politely asked for a full set and straight away she sat me down. I had dragged my mom with me, so she waiting in the chair next to me as the sofa was taken up. The lady started my nails and as the first minute passed I was already in a lot of pain. (I have my nails done often in a Chinese shop in leamington so I was aware of the way she was doing it.) The electric file was causing my nails a fair amount of pain but I didn't want to say. As the service carried on, it was very disruptive by the staff around me making very loud jokes and laughing but in another language, staring, and it was just a very uncomfortable atmosphere; I already couldn't wait to get out. My hand was still in pain from the electric file and my nails were very sensitive but at this point I assumed the worst had been done. Then for some reason or another (I am aware I'm no expert) she started cutting my non existent cuticle! A couple of my fingers were bleeding, and I did complain a couple of times. More electric nail files were then used and i was in a serious amount of discomfort and I would go as far to say pain! The service carried on and i didn't say anything as I just wanted to get out. I felt like she had ignored my complaints of pain previously. My mom was moved around serval times, and was rudely spoken to, to the point she stood outside. I do recall a lady come in to get her acrylics taken off and the lady actually clipped the nail off so low her hand started shaking!! Finally I got out and I was in so much pain the first thing I said to my mom was 'I need to get these removed, my nails are throbbing.' So not only was it an uncomfortable atmosphere, I was in severe discomfort and pain! A couple of my nails have a split down the middle too, so the discomfort didn't end there!!

They have a good variety of beauty treatments available, so you should be able to find what ever it is your after. IE, Jewellery, nail polish, gift vouchers and manicures, threading, waxing, tinting, UV Gels, Brazilian and facials, with over 10 years of industry experience. The prices for the treatments are very reasonable and some of the most competitive that I have seen within Birmingham City Centre. A loyalty card scheme is offered for eyebrow and waxing treatments only, pay for 7, and your 8th is free. Opening hours are 10am-6pm Monday through to Saturday. Gift vouchers are available, but the company has no website set up yet. I liked this place. Small and intimate, with professional and friendly service, I'll be coming back before I go on my next holiday.

I tend to go with the man, he's the owner and very good. I went to the woman, his wife I think, once but personally I wasn't too keen on the results in comparison to the mans. Don't get me wrong, they were good nails, I just preferred my usual style. It costs £25 for a full set which is a good price in the city and you can just walk in without an appointment although you may need to wait or go back.

They have a huge range of wigs and extensions that can be bought and woven in on site or to take away. I personally don't go there for the extensions or on site eyebrow threading but I've been in there before a big weekend when the place is packed full of women colour matching. I go to Juliet's for crazy colour hair dye. Apart from on the Soho road you won't find it cheaper. My hairdresser has tried to stock it in her salon and can't get it in as cheap as Juliet's. So if you like your bright colours, fancy a colourful dip dye then this is the place to buy it.

I wasn't that impressed with the customer service here and, although they did have quite a few wigs, they had nothing ginger and nothing small. We asked if we could look at the catalogue but the bored looking, male assistant was hesitant to let us. The wig catalogue was in fact a double sided print on A4 and not quite what we were hoping for. We then noticed a sign saying 'Wig Boutique Downstairs' but when we enquired we were told flat out that we couldn't go down there; Not even so much as an excuse. Man, these guys really want to sell wigs! My friend then enquired about the price of a wig in human hair. The assistant pointed to some hair extensions instead of wigs because he wasn't listening to her even though I'm pretty sure we were the only 2 customers in the shop. All in all I'd say if you are after some products for afro hair or a wig which isn't ginger or smaller than average then you might find what you are looking for here. They do have about 50 wigs in store. But if you are a bit shy to ask for help then don't bother coming here as this particular man wasn't the most approachable or helpful.
