I ordered from Avec Plaisirs for an event I organized for 13 attendees. I was happy to see their lunch options were well presented on the site. I ordered a la carte from the Cabaret Express menu that offers choices of 2 salads, 2 half sandwiches & a dessert for 21.95$ per person. The ordering process was a bit confusing as it isn't clearly written on their website. Although they do mention you can order and get pickup for the same day. So you don't have to put in your orders in advance, I did to be on the safe side.
The website was also hard to navigate through and isn't very user friendly. Best bet is to call up their customer service line (only available on Weekdays until 5 pm). I spoke to several different reps and all gave me different information for pickup times, some said I needed a minimum of 5 orders for each lunch choice to go through with the order (when all the guests had already made their choices individually). I got lucky with their team member, Natalie Gerbaux, (ask for her ) she was excellent and settled the problem saying all guest could have their choices with 1$ extra per person . It seemed like the easiest option days before the event. The delivery fee can start at 25$ but I opted for Saturday pick up (better to go with delivery because the place is in a remote location with a lot of bugs around the Lachine canal). For pickup on a Saturday, they are open until 12 Pm. When I got there, there was nobody in the office! I walked to the employee room and saw a woman eating lunch in their staff room, waved to get her attention. She came out and was aware of my order. She took the time to review each order with me to ensure there were no mistakes. I was a bit confused since I had no receipt, I received an email quote but wasn't sure if that was the receipt? When I asked her for a receipt, she said she had no idea.
The food was great and well packaged (eco friendly packaging). In my pic, I ordered the kale and quinoa salads (be warned the kale one had cranberries-I didn't like the texture); sandwiches were full 6 inches in size so really not half portions at all! I picked the BBQ pulled beef and the vegetarian smoked Gouda sandwich (Gouda was my favourite; beef was pretty good as well); for dessert I had the blueberry cheese cake on cookie which was quite nice with fresh berries. The meal was more than filling and all guests were very happy. On the website, they tell you cutlery is an extra 2$ a person so I thought it wasn't included. I packed my own cutlery all to see when we got our meals, they did include cutlery. So confusing, make sure to ask.
I don't think I would order here again because of the lengthy process of putting in the orders. Nonetheless, with a little cleaning up they will be on point . read more
