What a beautiful gala at the Avanti mansion. The staff are super friendly, kind, and very good at attending to your needs. The food is exquisite and the drinks are flowing!! The decorations for the Alice and wonderland themed gala are spot on. Oh and the actors are doing a wonderful job playing their roles. My brother got married here in December and it was absolutely stunning! The food was so good! The steak was perfectly cooked, as well as the asparagus. And the caprese chicken was so flavorful. The Tannenbaum was actually my own creation, but the bartenders pulled it off perfectly with the rosemary and cranberry garnish. I wish I had pictures of the appetizers because they were SO BOMB. We had a mountain of shrimp, and a number of delicious appetizers that came out on silver platters, including my favorite - The Nashville Hot Chicken Flatbread. Great venue! All of the amenities are nicely and spaciously laid out. It's a literal one stop shop if you so desire. They have 2 halls to accommodate various seat counts. We had our wedding in the Garden Venue this past July. The venue, staff, food and atmosphere were exceptional. We had a perfect day and still have guests talking about how good the food was and how beautiful the venue was. I always received a timely and friendly response when emailing the venue and my coordinator (Kelly). Day of, Kelly was very attentive, bringing us food, drinks and taking care of all of the behind-the-scenes details that made the day so wonderful. I would highly recommend Avanti to anyone! Just went here for a wedding over the weekend, and first off I was blown away by the space, everything about the decor was elegant without being gaudy. The evening started out with hand passed appetizers in the cocktail room. My favorite was by far the cheesy spinach stuffed mushroom, I kept on "stalking" the server for more. Then we retired to the dining room for dinner, a nice sized Caesar salad (with fresh shaved Parmesan cheese, a plus) was served with dinner rolls to start. Then we had a duo steak/chicken entree with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. All steak was cooked medium-ish and although I've had better steak, it was a nice cut and left very little leftovers. Of course cake was served along with a cookie bar(not sure if Avanti provided the cookies) and then a late night beef slider bar with fries (seriously a ton of food)! The staircase in the dining room provided the perfect atmosphere to announce the bridal party and happy couple and the middle of the dining room provided the perfect dance floor for getting our groove on! The bartenders were also quick to serve a well made Jim bean and ginger ale to give me the liquid courage to dance! I had a great time and recommend the venue for anyone looking for a reception hall for their big day read more

We got married here in November and the venue is absolutely beautiful. I loved how there were packages so it required a bit less planning and logistics. The wedding planners always quickly responded to questions. We were able to have exclusive use of the facility so were able to use the library room as the cocktail hour and the ballroom for the rest of the evening. The upstairs rooms were great to have our bridal party put their stuff and also have a few minutes to relax prior to the party. We picked the dual plated filet and honey Dijon chicken which was so flavorful. There were many appetizer options that were unique and flavorful including chicken and waffles. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Overall was very happy but didn't love the inflexibility of certain requests I had made based on their policies. I also felt everything had to be an add on to the package which quickly added up in cost. read more

My family (mother, sister, and I) and my elderly grandmother were wanting to get inside after the outdoor ceremony for my grandmother to sit down. Server Becca tells us that we need to walk around the entire building. Some other kind worker lets me and my elderly grandmother in my arms into these doors and then SERVER BECCA turns to my mother and sister and said "are they serious" and then my mother says "well that's my elderly mother she needs to sit down" and then Becca rolls her eyes and then walks over to a large group of people and is complaining about us and pointing at us and rolling her eyes. For the rest of the night, Becca continued rolling her eyes and being absolutely disrespectful to me and my family. For the rest of the night. My wife and I attended a wedding on Friday 9/18/2020 for the daughter of dear friends of ours. We were very excited as the reputation of the Avanti was great and we had never attended an event there before. The ceremony was on site and limited due to COVID and the staff was quick to remind the guests of the NY State rules- which is fair because the mansion is held accountable. After a wonderful ceremony we moved to the outdoor "patio" and noticed for around 50 guests ( including photographer and DJ) seating was for much less. The staff went through with hors d'oeuvres but not nearly as many as guests to serve. The same can be said for the cheese and cracker table and if you weren't in the first group in line, this was scarcely replenished. We were then hurriedly seated as we had been told the introductions were about to start. As dinner was being served and most tables were finished, several other tables had not received service as of yet( we were one) not a big deal as our server ( Monica ) was very apologetic as she was when butter was not available for rolls( for the entire room-can't make that up). Food was good and they cut and served the cake. Many tables had no forks. Apparently another event was occurring and they ran out. I later found out the mother of the bride had asked for forks multiple times and was ignored. I found the staff( besides Monica and the bartender) to be inexperienced and non receptive to any requests. One (Bri) mumbled under her breath constantly.One can tell either ownership or management has failed here as employees were so very unprofessional. This also goes with cookies purchased to be distributed after dinner which remained on a corner table. With two children that will soon be looking for venue's this would be the LAST place we would select. Clearly they are using the COVID pandemic to cut cost( 10pm-wing/roast beef table had enough for 25 but 50 were paid for) rather then show quality.Stay as far away as you can!! read more

We heard many negative reviews about Avanti, but we absolutely fell in love with it when we toured and we knew without a doubt we wanted to get married there! We are incredibly happy with our decision. Colleen made the planning process smooth, she answered all of our questions, and she was honest about everything! The Japanese garden is stunning, our day of staff was absolutely incredible, and the food was phenomenal! Every table we visited mentioned how good the vegetable lasagna was! The only thing I wish was done differently is that the food from our sweetheart table was taken away quickly as was the champagne from the guests. They were transparent about everything and answered all of our questions honestly. Colleen was extremely supportive and while we would have liked to have worked with her the day of the wedding, it was an additional cost. We opted not to have her be there the day of and we're so happy with Katie! She did an amazing job helping us the day of and really went above and beyond. I've always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, but did not trust Buffalo's weather to hold up. With elegant indoor "rain plan" locations I felt comfortable planning the outdoor wedding I wanted. (and it ended up being perfect weather!) The day of the wedding was made super simple. I dropped off the decorations the day before and they set everything up. Colleen was able to keep everything moving seamlessly so that I didn't have to worry about a thing. My guests all commented on how great the food was. No rubbery chicken at this venue! Attended a wedding in the Mansion on Sept. 3rd, 2022. It's a very beautiful place, with a huge outdoor patio complete with bar and several seating areas around the patio to sit, drink, eat and converse. The servers came around with hors d'oeuvres often and they were delicious. When we were seated for dinner, we were served rolls and a Caesar salad which was very good. After that we sat for quite a long time before the entree was served, but there were two other weddings going on so it was understandable. I wish I could say the actual dinner entree was delicious, but it was not. The main entree was a filet of beef, a chicken breast, roasted potatoes and asparagus. The chicken breast was excellent, but the potatoes did not look "roasted". They were bland and looked as though they just got microwaved for a few minutes. But, the filet was the worst ever. It was very rare, somewhat chewy, and it was so salty that it was impossible to eat more than a few bites. Everyone at our table said theirs was very salty too. It was simply inedible. I know a lot of people left the filet uneaten on their plate. This was a huge disappointment as the Avanti is noted for excellent food. Not this night, sorry to say. read more

My Bride and I selected this location for our August 2021 wedding. Our wedding was very small with no dinner on site (About 40 total people including the wedding party). We had few requests for that day that we had coordinated with Angie. We practiced the procession the day before the wedding. On the wedding day, Angie was not going to be there. 1. The officiator from the Avanti came to me 5 min before the ceremony saying that she wasn't sure if we had a viable marriage certificate and that she'd continue with the ceremony and work out the legality later. We'll, I had the marriage license for 60 days, but they only asked about it 5 min before the wedding telling both me and my bride that the license may not be valid because it's out of state. 2. We had asked at rehearsal if the music would be loud enough, but it wasn't. We couldn't really hear the music as we walked down the garden aisle. 3. The young woman placed in charge that day had no clue what we had planned for the day. She asked questions and got things wrong, or just didn't pay attention. 4. They didn't even set up a microphone under the tent for announcements and the sand ceremony which occurred under the tent after the ceremony. 5. An email to Angie after the ceremony providing this identical feedback had not been answered. The Avanti Mansion is a beautiful location, but they need staff that know what is happening. read more

They are generously offering services in 2021 but couples will have to pay additional costs due to inflation and also place another deposit. Just imagine. They are not doing anything, have few employees if any, zero vendor costs, and let's imagine they have three weddings a week going back to March when Covid hit. They are literally pocketing nearly $673,000. Don't be sucker. This place isn't that great. Buyer beware that their contract actually says you can't be refunded even due to "an act of God." Avanti Manor should be ashamed. My son and his now wife were due to get married there this October. Covid drastically changed those plans. Now with only 50 people allowed by State ruling it changed the look of a dream wedding. That new law and a cancer diagnosis in the mother of the bride. The bride was forced to reduce her wedding to 50 due to this new law set by the governor. When asking the venue how this would work it was explained another wedding would be booked in two separate rooms. This first off seems to go against the ruling by the governor and certainly did not sit well with a family actively dealing with an immune compromised mother of the bride. As Registered Nurse this was the right medical decision and one that would be backed by any healthcare professional. The directive contained in Executive Order 202.35, as extended and as amended by Executive Order 202.38 and Executive Order 202.42, which amended the directive in Executive Order 202.10 that limited all non-essential gatherings, is hereby further modified to allow gatherings of fifty (50) or fewer individuals for any lawful purpose or reason, so long as any such gatherings occurring indoors do not exceed 50% of the maximum occupancy for a particular indoor area, and provided that the location of the gathering is in a region that has reached Phase 4 of the State's reopening, and provided further that social distancing, face covering, and cleaning and disinfection protocols required by the Department of Health are adhered to. The decision was made to cancel because the venue would not guarantee another wedding party of 50 would not happen at the same time and in the same building. Causing possible exposure to all guests . I have read the reviews and must tell you I feel disgusted with your explanation that and I quote "Mrs. P**** is the mother of one of our brides, she wasn't very involved with the planning" as the fact is she missed one meeting. She did become less vocal during your calls as with lung cancer it has become hard for her to hold long conversations due to shortness of breath, It is shameful you would even think to reference a mother in her state of health as not involved to be used as grounds to dispute a review or a request to cancel and get a refund. And to further that if your claim is Mrs. P**** was not involved then you should have no issue in returning her uninvolved check you cashed. These two young people gave up their dream wedding, because of Covid and because they wanted to make sure the mother of the bride could attend. I find it really disheartening that because your business is struggling due to Covid induced economic stress you are treating families this way, and literally stealing from 24-year old's. I also would love to research if you can have two weddings of 50 and staff in your venue at the same time sharing amenities. I don't often fantasize about my own wedding. It's just not a priority. But if I were to envision a perfect spot for a wedding, this would be pretty high on my list. The ceremony took place on a tiered hill with stone steps leading down to a little bridge which then goes across to a little island surrounded by a koi pond. The wedding party stands on the island and the guests sit on the hill. Not a bad view anywhere. Not sure what they do if it rains though - the weather was threatening and the ceremony had to be rushed a bit. The ceremony was followed by a reception in their HUGE and beautiful tent. Lots of heat lamps kept the tent very warm despite the cool temperatures outside. The bar was large with attentive and professional bartenders. Not sure if the wedding party selected the drink options but the beer selection was awful. Just blue light. Ew. Bathroom was expansive and very tasteful and clean. Tip: If you're considering this venue don't use their officiant. He sounded like a used car salesman (it was SO distracting). If you can, bring in your own pastor/priest/judge. read more

Completely disregard any review under 5 stars because those people are ridiculous and obviously have issues...and can you trust ridiculous people with issues? I had my wedding here this past October, and though I didn't have an image before starting to plan, they quickly helped me form one and make it absolutely perfect. We were assigned Kelly as our wedding specialist when we booked here. Kelly. Is. PHENOMENAL!! I could call or email her at any time of day with questions and she was on the ball! She even worked with us to get our contracts signed over the phone during the blizzard! She's so personable, and you feel like you're working with a friend rather than an employee of the mansion. Even with a minor crisis the day of the wedding, she took complete care of it and I never had to worry about a thing. The wedding day was flawless - we had our ceremony in the library in front of a working fireplace. Stunning. I had multiple guests tell me they'd never seen a more beautiful venue. The food at the reception (beef and chicken options) was amazing - perfectly cooked and delicious - and the staff was so on the ball and polite, it was as if we were the only people in the world that they cared about. Our DJ (Kenny) was very involved and talked to guests and took all requests, including mine that I had given prior to the reception. Loved him! I also suggests renting the photo booth. The guests LOVE it and they put together a photo-strip guest book for you to take home. All in all, if I had to go back and change anything, I wouldn't. The staff knew I really wanted to make sure I took part in the build your own martini cheesecake bar. There were three, THREE, members that made sure I was able to get my cheesecake!! Where to start, from the very beginning when I walked through the door for a tour and to meet with them the very first time I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Knowing that I was going to be planning our wedding from 3,000 miles away I knew we needed a venue we could trust and felt comfortable with, Avanti fit the bill. We had Colleen to work with us from day one until a week before our wedding (she ended up being in another wedding the day of ours, but made sure we were in good hands with Kelly). With getting the amenities and help of being able to use their center pieces and other decorations made that part of the planning so much easier. Colleen was available every step via email to answer any of our questions whether it was on vendors that were good in the area or how different things worked at the venue. The week of the wedding and the day of we had Kelly she was as fantastic as Colleen she knew all of the answers to our last minute questions and how to make sure everything everything went smoothly the day of. The day of the wedding went smoothly I have no idea how Kelly did it, but she was everywhere all the time and always 3-4 steps ahead of us making sure we had everything and anything we needed from a tide to go pen when I got some chicken on my wedding dress right before pictures to making sure we wouldn't miss out on desserts because we were busy talking to our guests or getting pictures taken. Top notch. Angie was amazing. Professional, efficient, and unobtrusive. Three perfect qualities in a wedding coordinator. Yes, they have lots of rules but, nothing unreasonable. Your job is to ask all the right questions up front and read everything they give you so there are no surprises or disappointments. Remember that although, yes, they are there to cater to you, this is a business and needs to be run like a business so they can continue to offer outstanding venues and service. Went here for a wedding last Friday and have to say I was impressed. The koi pond where they have the ceremony is a nice setup with the guests on a hillside with overview of bride and groom on this little island in middle of the pond. After the ceremony we went on to hors d'oeuvres under their tent. The bruschetta with Brie was awesome. Also liked the chicken salad with walnuts on a tart pastry. Dinner was very tasty. They grilled up some chicken and steaks. The steaks had this blue cheese butter to go with them. I'll admit, I had to go up for seconds on the steak. Also had some tasty grilled veggies and potato wedges too. A good salad with strawberries and goat cheese with a raspberry vinaigrette washed them all down. Now they did have the mansion open to check out too, which had a very old timey feeling, along with a cool bar setup. Lori Wagner Mother of the bride, Avanti is a beautiful venue and we were taken in by the ballroom, outdoor patio, setting of an outdoor ceremony- and everything they promise. BUT don't let that fool you!! Booked 1 1/2 yr's ago prior to the pandemic, and had paid accordingly to their payment schedule, so by March of 2020- we were thousands of dollars into it- over $8000 to be exact. We had talked about cancelling, changing dates but...we were told multiple times, there would be absolutely NO refunds of any of the money we had already given them. So after a long, hard decision, we decided to go forward with the small 50 person wedding and were promised they were able to accommodate everything on our proposal. After having to add more extras to our proposal, to make up for the money that they would NOT refund, the wedding day was finally here. When we got to the Avanti, @4pm for a 6pm wedding, nothing was set up yet- none of our guest tables or personal (memory, gift etc)- they were doing that as the bride and bridesmaids arrived. At that point staff was nice and attentive. After the ceremony is when everything changed. They had minimal passed hor d'oeuvres and cheese-veggie tray for 50 people, if you did not get to the trays early, nothing was left. Outdoor bar was open and was suppose to be open all evening- we paid extra for it ($250)- but was told by my guests later that it was closed after cocktail hr, and did not reopen. Dinner time came, no butter for the rolls- was told the butter was taken to the other venue- they were having the Taste of Avanti in the tent at the same time!! (I'm the one who paid thousands of dollars) No salt and pepper, father of bride- pre ordered his meal med/well- they brought out the food and when questioned about it "this is what I was told to bring out" nothing was marked and no effort made to find out which one was his. So needless to say , his was not med/well. After about 15 min into dinner, I noticed 3 of our tables had not received their meals yet, when questioning this, was told "the chef burnt the potatoes"- just unacceptable for an elite venue and only 50 people. Then- oh there is more...Cake was served for dessert, again I noticed guests did not have forks. I told the server, she went to tell the event manager and they both just stood there, did not bring out any forks...totally ignored me- my nephew ate is cake with a butter knife. Avanti has the most Rude and Ignorant staff I have ever seen. Regarding the bar, we upgraded to bottle beer, again had to use up the money already spent. Avanti was serving draft beer to our guests, until we told the guests to ask for the bottled beer- all the liquor was behind the bar, no one could see what was offered and paid for!! In our package, cookies and late night snack was included, again in regards to both of these, there was not enough for 50 people. I had to question where the cookies were and was told they are on the table. There they were.. 2 small tins with pre-wrapped cookies, with only 20-25 pks, which I handed out to a few of my guests, because you would have never known they were there. Again, very rude staff, started clearing tables- removing peoples drinks before they were done, had guests ask for more coffee with dinner, never returned. Avanti is just what it is, a beautiful venue.. that is it. Service is sub-par, staff is rude and unwilling to do anything extra, or their job for that matter. They are not giving any refunds due to COVID -19, couples/families are paying thousands of dollars-for very small weddings and they are still cutting back on their quality and skimping where ever they can get away with it. Was at a wedding last night and it was absolutely a great place, food was excellent, staff was wonderful,. The ceremony was out side , just a beautiful setting for a wedding , reception was under the tent, was bright and beautiful.I definitely will recommend this place!!! Also the area setting for pictures was perfect background. So people start booking this place!! read more

First, I would like tot say THANK YOU to Avanti Mansion (and their employees) for accommodating and making as many of our dreams come true as NY state regulations would allow. Second, despite a Pandemic, Avanti Mansion has been a considerate, accommodating, and welcoming place to plan a wedding. My fiancé and I started planning our big day well before the pandemic hit, we even signed a contract with Avanti for a large ceremony and reception for February 2021. When the pandemic hit it changed all of it, but Avanti Mansion was there to reassure us that we will still get a day to remember and have a beautiful ceremony to say I DO. We met with Avanti in August 2020, where they offered us an array of options for our big day from small to big (NYS regulations in mind). They even allowed us to transfer the money we already paid into other options. We didn't lose a single cent of money, and they still honored their postponement options in case of another lockdown or even bad weather. Our wedding day isn't what we thought it would be due to the global health crisis, but Avanti has been so helpful in making sure we still get the wedding of our dreams. The venue is stunning, the food is so delicious, and the employees are pleasant, beyond understanding, and accommodating. I don't think we would have this kind of help and empathy from many other venues. Couples and Venues are having to redefine a lot right now; I am just happy that we are working with Avanti - Laurie and Colleen have been absolutely wonderful to work with. I cannot wait till my wedding day - I know it will be memorable and amazing in the hands of the professionals at Avanti Mansion. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and stay safe!! read more

I drove up to the mansion expecting this grand and amazing place. It was pretty small for a "mansion." I think they should not have it be called a mansion though. The Avanti was beautiful though. Design was very old style details. The stair cases were decorated in this dark but stunning style. Definitely a great fall/winter style. It's more of a wedding venue and some special occasions. I came here for a work event that created little spots for all the companies there were there. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They were on top for all service points. They all were clean and proper to customers. I would definitely recommend someone to have their wedding at the Avanti. The style, look, gracefulness, and cleanliness was perfect. From start to finish, our experience with Avanti Mansion was top notch! Our coordinator was Angie, and she was wonderful. No matter how many questions I asked, or how annoying the were, she answered them with a smile. Our reception was in the Garden Venue and entitled us to use of the Mansion and an overnight stay. The decor was stunning! From our tent in the garden, to the beautiful mums in the Japanese Garden, to the stunningly decorated rooms in the Mansion, we were in awe! How to even start on what a debacle my friend's wedding was Saturday 9-15-2018. I guess I'll start with how they refused to work with the wedding party on pretty much every level. So I'll just state what I saw during my friends "Special Night". From the moment I walked into the venue I felt like a burden. I've been a groomsman in 6 different weddings now, and have attended way more weddings then I'd like to admit, and I've never been treated so poorly at a wedding. For starters, the wedding started at 5:30, at about 5:10ish I asked the bartender if a groomsmen and myself could have a beer. (The beers were already out in a tub of ice behind the lady) She looked at me dumbfounded, and sternly told me NO, the bars not open yet! (Most weddings I've been in, the bridal party gets a little special treatment, not here I guess) Fine no big deal, I'll walk outside and grab some wine they've had sitting outside in the 85 degree sun. I just wanted a drink. So after the ceremony, we all went back inside to the now "opened bar" for cocktail hour. The line for the bar was about 35 people deep. So after standing in the line for 20 minutes for a 60 minute cocktail hour, I finally got my drink. I tipped the VERY unfriendly bartender $40.00, without getting a thank you from her, I jokingly said "you're welcome" I didn't want to complain about anything at this point. It's not my wedding and I knew they spent a pretty penny on this place, so I just continued to do my duties as a groomsman. So when I went to get my next drink from the same bartender, she asked for my ID, Not the biggest deal (if my wallet was in my suit jacket back at the table). But I clearly look over 21, my hair is turning grey and I have a beard. Plus she already served me a drink and I tipped her $40.00, 15 minutes ago you figured you'd remember me. Guess not.. So after dinner during the Bride and Grooms first dance, a few friends and I stood by the bar to watch. I rested my left hand on the bar behind me and leaned back to watch my friends first dance. Next thing I knew my hand was being slapped like I was a bad child, I turn around to see who is slapping my hand, guess who? The very friendly bartender! She then yells at me and tells me I can't lean on the bar. Another one of the Avanti's very many rules I guess. No leaning.. "Ok got it". Still it's not my night so I'm not going to say anything I just walked away. This is when things got really wild. The Stellar customer service was ramped up to 100%. The bartender refused to serve the groom, and asked him to tell her how he was getting home. Yes you heard me right, the refused the groom a drink. (He was nowhere near need to be cut off BTW, nobody was, it took forever to get a drink). The Groom then came to me to tell me what happened, I was just trying to dance (which I'm surprised they let happen in that place) I told him to find a manager, and let's fix this. The Groom at this point a little upset finds the manager "Sara" who was less then helpful, took the bartenders side and said something along the lines "if you don't like it, I'll shut this whole wedding down". Luckily she made the right choice and didn't do so. But she did make sure that we didn't spend any extra time in the venue. Right at 10:45 she made sure the DJ was cut off and started throwing stuff into totes that wasn't theirs, she wanted everything out that night. I've never seen such PISS POOR customer service in my life, and out of all the weddings I've been to I've never seen such a thing. The owners should be ashamed of the way they treated their guests. Oh wait I almost forgot, The Avanti gave the couple a cutting board as a wedding gift, which was nice touch, till they noticed they spelled their name wrong on it. This shows how much they care about their clients, they can't even spell check. WAIT it gets better, the Grooms sister-in-law has already written her take on the event. Since her post, the Avanti has reached out to her place of employment, threatening that they will never work with them unless she takes down her post and apologizes or they fire her. Glad that's the road they took, rather than call the couple and apologize, they'd rather try to bully someone into taking down a bad review. Show what a classless business they are running. Needless to say, I'm getting married next year, and I can gladly say it won't be at the Avanti. But I will share my experience at this place with every person I see at every wedding show or event. read more
