She spoke to him sweetly as she shaved his face even though he wasn't conscious, and treated him with the respect he deserved. Pam sweetly put lotion on his dry face and arms. The nurses conversed with me the late nights I was there by my dad's bed. When Dana told me my dad had 1/2 an hour to an hour to go, my husband and I were able to be with him as he took his last breath, and I'll be forever grateful for that. While he was being seen by a Hospice nurse at the Canterbury, she made sure all his needs were being met, and went through great pains to get him a portable oxygen machine so he could still get out once in awhile. She was there always for any questions or concerns I had, and I never felt like what I was asking was stupid or an inconvenience. My uncle and many dear friends have passed away while at CHHH, and I'm forever grateful to the staff for the care they gave all of them.

I'm especially directing this review towards the hospice team that came into my patents's home to provide hands on care. We were very fortunate to have Alyssa, Trey, and La Sarita help us out. They were excellent communicators and very caring and competent. They exhibited great teamwork. They addressed our questions without making us feel like we were wasting their time. An additional note. After my Dad passed, just 13 days after entering hospice, my Mom did not want to sleep in her bedroom alone. Gracious Care Hospice made arrangements so we could keep my Dad's rented hospital bed so I could sleep next to her and hold her hand as she grieved the loss of her husband of 68 years. That act was outside of the hospice routine, but was a key to helping my Mom pass peacefully, 17 days later. Thank you, Gracious Care Hospice.

Most residents are soaked when you get onto shift. The head up has no interest besides getting people in for the money and that you look like you're doing your job when people come in but other times she doesn't listen. That place is heart breaking knowing they seem so wonderful. They put on a mask and act so fake to others. Please don't have your loved ones come here. It's not worth the pain they'll have to suffer being there.

She loves loves the staff, is very happy living out her final months/ years. I take my responsibility to my mother very seriously. I visit her 2-3 times per week and keep a close eye. I have never seen anything amiss. The staff treat her (and all the residents in my opinion) with respect, dignity and love. My mom is treated more like family than a patient. The accident that occurred was tragic. Mistakes were made and were corrected. 70 residents live in Gardens. The tragedy that occurred would be made infinitely worse to displace those 70 residents--most would have nowhere to go nearby. I stand by the owners and staff of all the Canterbury properties. Don't jump to conclusions if you haven't seen with your own eyes.

I was able o get in touch with the sweetest, most comforting & knowledgeable on-call hospice nurse I've ever come across at 10:30pm! Her name, I think, was Sonia. As comforting as our conversation was it was also educational. She reassured me that picking a hospice is like buying a car. If you don't like it you move on to the next until you find one to suit your needs. She empowered me & encouraged me--SO wasn't expecting it to be such an uplifting call. I can tell with this short encounter that my grandfather will be in the hands of some amazing & smart angel nurses & loving care I doubt I could find anywhere else. My grandpa also is not English speaking & she told me they have some nurses available that do speak our language & are familiar with our culture. I wish she could be my personal nurse every day to speak encouraging things to me every day! We haven't even entered with their program & I love it it already. Before searching anywhere else for hospice--coming from an anxious & worried granddaughter-- please give Comfort Hospice a call first. They literally answer your call at ungodly hours like I called & they don't even mind.

They expedited paperwork and got him comfortable immediately. They offered counseling and a volunteer to watch him so that my mom could have some respite. They took my brother in, then realized he wasn't going to die any time soon and they were stuck with his care. His class 4 sore miraculously went to a class 2 and they moved him out. He actually went to a much better location, an adult foster care facility. Community HH&H has a beautiful facility, but the operators have no moral center. It's a hospice mill and their business model seems be to keep the average stay time as low as they can.

That said, nothing could have made my mother's remaining days more comforting than the team at Care Partners. My mother was in the hospital for 5 days and the decision was made to move into a care home and enlist the hospice care from Care Partners. We moved her to a care home close to our house and Care Partners met with my mother, the staff at the home and my family to discuss comfort care and the end of life process. My mother was an extremely private and self-sufficient woman, Care Partners understood this and modified their care plan to keep her dignity intact as well as keep her pain-free for her remaining 5 days. I thank Care Partners from the bottom of my heart. They truly made a difference in our lives.
