She spoke to him sweetly as she shaved his face even though he wasn't conscious, and treated him with the respect he deserved. Pam sweetly put lotion on his dry face and arms. The nurses conversed with me the late nights I was there by my dad's bed. When Dana told me my dad had 1/2 an hour to an hour to go, my husband and I were able to be with him as he took his last breath, and I'll be forever grateful for that. While he was being seen by a Hospice nurse at the Canterbury, she made sure all his needs were being met, and went through great pains to get him a portable oxygen machine so he could still get out once in awhile. She was there always for any questions or concerns I had, and I never felt like what I was asking was stupid or an inconvenience. My uncle and many dear friends have passed away while at CHHH, and I'm forever grateful to the staff for the care they gave all of them.

Most residents are soaked when you get onto shift. The head up has no interest besides getting people in for the money and that you look like you're doing your job when people come in but other times she doesn't listen. That place is heart breaking knowing they seem so wonderful. They put on a mask and act so fake to others. Please don't have your loved ones come here. It's not worth the pain they'll have to suffer being there.

As a full time caregiver 3 years ago for one friend, it was a difficult decision to place her. The folks at the Gardens made the transition so easy for us, with their kindness and guidance. The staff truly cares, treating the residents with respect and love, no matter what the level of awareness or ability. Over the years, more friends have been diagnosed with some form of dementia. I am so very thankful the Canterbury Gardens is here to provide full-time residential care, day care, respite for families, and so much knowledge and support for families who have to walk this path with their loved ones.

I was able o get in touch with the sweetest, most comforting & knowledgeable on-call hospice nurse I've ever come across at 10:30pm! Her name, I think, was Sonia. As comforting as our conversation was it was also educational. She reassured me that picking a hospice is like buying a car. If you don't like it you move on to the next until you find one to suit your needs. She empowered me & encouraged me--SO wasn't expecting it to be such an uplifting call. I can tell with this short encounter that my grandfather will be in the hands of some amazing & smart angel nurses & loving care I doubt I could find anywhere else. My grandpa also is not English speaking & she told me they have some nurses available that do speak our language & are familiar with our culture. I wish she could be my personal nurse every day to speak encouraging things to me every day! We haven't even entered with their program & I love it it already. Before searching anywhere else for hospice--coming from an anxious & worried granddaughter-- please give Comfort Hospice a call first. They literally answer your call at ungodly hours like I called & they don't even mind.

CarePartners was recommended by our OHSU Palliative Care Specialist. They were absolutely fantastic in our time of need. They not only helped us with the physical care of my husband's mother but the caregivers were wonderful as emotional support for my husband when they came into the house. They were so easy to work with and did a great job of preparing us for the progression of her disease and what we could expect. It's been a year since her passing and we still receive compassionate reach outs from the office to see how we are doing. They even informed us of bereavement groups we could attend after her passing. We are so grateful for CarePartners. They are the BEST!
