That might not be a problem to some couples, but it was to us. It actually took awhile for us to find a makeup artist in Toronto who a) didn't have certain demands regarding travel, packages, etc., b) didn't take 5 days to respond to us, c) actually showed genuine compassion and interest in their work and craft, and for their client. I met Daniela a few months before our wedding, and knew she was the one! Out of over 20 makeup artists in Toronto that I contacted, she was the only one who suggested an in-person meeting to talk about my wedding. Honestly, I can't even express how much I appreciated that. She came to our meeting prepared, actually took the time to take notes and understand what I'd be wearing, the look and style I was going for, etc. I knew from the very start that, with Daniela, I was in very good, talented, and responsible hands. And as a bride, trust in your vendor is so key - and I trusted Daniela fully! On our wedding day, Daniela came early and prepared, and was totally unfazed when my mom changed her mind about what she wanted. She is the epitome of creativity, talent, and professionalism. And most importantly - I loved the look she gave me on our wedding day! She can do so many types of looks, and can totally diversify if you ask her to. My make-up looked beautiful and I had loads of compliments about it all day. Daniela even gave me my own tube of touch-up gloss to go, so that I could keep myself looking fresh all day. She has a great set up with fabulous lighting and she did my make-up in a beautiful, natural look. My friends and i decided to dedicate our morning to getting free lipsticks and lined up one hour before the store opened. Amazingly we were first in line! When 10 am came along, an associate told us that they would let five people in at a time. It was awesome because i was dreading this crazy rush and crush marathon to just get a lipstick, but it was organized. The associate helping us out did ask if we were interested in other products, but there were no pressure otherwise. They were all very pleasant and courteous. I wanted a trial before doing it on my wedding day just to see how it would look. The result is amazing it really just looks like a real sub tan! I'm usually a pale skin that burns and doesn't tan much, so that option was great for me. Jen was also very professional which is very important since you are totally naked to get your spray tan... She also gave me good advice on how to keep my tan longer, what soap to not use etc. I will be returning a couple of days before my big day now that I'm satisfied with the result!

Made an appointment for makeup and hair, thru whassap messaging. Asked for the price, okayed the time, and remarked that 19% is a big tax. Not once said we're not coming. Showed up after traveling from America, hundreds of miles only to be told her assistant, Hannah was already booked. Hannah questioned us, wanted to see proof that this indeed was the time slot, implying we were lying somehow. My friend burst into tears when she was told the appointment was never confirmed. Whenever she can't make an appointment she has made it clear as crystal. On top of it, when my friend got upset, the other makeup/hair people who occupied the building looked at my friend like she was a freak, as if they have never seen someone cry before. They didn't really try to comfort her at all (offering her a bottle of water? How about a hug?) and then the woman on the first floor insisted we leave the building in order to call Jennifer.We were told maybe Hannah could squeeze my friend in but when pressed that was a no-go. They tried to call one place which of course was totally booked. Jennifer apologized and said it was her fault, not theirs, however, she never gave us follow up, made no attempts to make it right, and when I called her today she refused to take responsibility at all. My friend was humiliated, felt like she was treated less than human. Fortunately we found another place, at the very last minute, literally who took my friend in and treated her with respect, dignity and utmost professionalism. That is the bright spot to this sad story, which includes my friend missing her event's scheduled start time because of this fiasco. My friend's heart was broken-she came to love Jennifer as a friend....This is no way to treat a loyal customer...or friend.

Pros: I had my eyebrows threaded for free since it was my birthday month, they looked awesome after. Customer service was great, they refilled my lashes after 4 days because so many fell out. Price was also good since they had a promo ($85 for 60 lashes per eye). Cons: SO many lashes fell out. By day 4, I only had 20-25 lashes left (I had 60 originally) on one of my eyes and came in for a recount, where I received a free refill to 55 lashes per eye. I know that 1-2 lashes can fall out per day, but it's day 8 now and both eyes are only at ~30 lashes each. I am really disappointed because 1) I purchased the sealer and am using it as indicated 2) I have not worn ANY eye makeup since I had my lashes done 3) I don't sleep on my face or rub my eyes. I'm giving a 3 star since I had my eyebrows done for free and they gave me a free refill but I'm disappointed that my lashes can't even stay a week (might be an issue with the glue they use or lashes were too heavy for my eyelashes).

Despite my insecurities, she's responsive and made me feel beautiful throughout the process. GG is so friendly and was lucky she was able to accommodate on relatively short notice (less than a month!) on a weekday. She doesn't only cater to the bridal niche; she does editorial, set makeup, and even SFX. She nailed the soft glam look I was looking for. I didn't want to look overdone, but also not like there was nothing/plain like some Asian bridal looks I've seen from other Asian specialized makeup artists (catering more of the international Asian audience not CBC). My hair was put up in a bun so it can last longer and she even put in a donut so it appears fuller. She showed me some Asian bridal looks in our messages based on request. I wanted to make sure she worked with someone that looked like me before. While not as many Asian bridal looks compared to other specialized Asian bridal makeup artists, I felt comfortable booking her because of her adaptability with a broad audience and responsiveness. She was also referred to me by my photographer. I also like that she was conveniently from Downtown and willing to travel to any location, Downtown or even up in GTA. My venue was Downtown. Her price is reasonable, unlike one who more than double the price once I mention that I want to attach a veil to my hair. She even travelled to my venue downtown and provided a little makeup touch-up bag. I didn't use it much (because I got busy) plus my makeup and hair stayed throughout the night. I only touched up my lips and wiped a bit of smudge at the corners of my eyes towards the end of the night. We started at 9:30am, outdoors from 3pm; dinner was at 5:30 pm, and it was a hot day. I have more of a dry and normal skin type, so your mileage may vary, and the touch-up kit is handy. Consider GG to do your makeup for your milestone and relieve some of the stress of getting ready yourself. She's been such a pleasure to work with, and never once in the process, I felt less than like some of the makeup artists I've had initial messages with. She's from Ottawa and moved to Toronto in the last 2-3 years, so she's still growing her clientele here. Definitely an underrated gem.
