Wonderful clean place, just like the other reviews discussed. The owners were very cold. Almost harsh. We spent 3 weeks in Scotland and found so many kind and loving places to stay and met many wonderful people. Our stay at the Avalon was our worst memory. The place itself was good, the breakfasts were great, but the memory of the owners still make us shudder. Maybe it is because we are Americans? The owners did seem much warmer to the other guests. From the moment we walked in the door, Val was in a rush to go out to dinner with friends. She seemed put out and really in need of a vacation herself. We borrowed a pillow in the room for a car ride and felt treated like thieves the next day. Funny, the next B&B we stayed at on Skye (Achalochan House) insisted that we bring their impressive binoculars in our car for our day trips. What a difference. read more
