Very good restaurant, every two years we make the trip from CANADA to Le Mans for the 24h and overall I must say I am impressed by the quality of food they manage to maintain while having such a flow of tourist.
By the way this restaurant is registered as Les cocottes Sarthoise but it changed name to : Au comptoir des cocottes.
Rillettes, fricassé and others were on the menu and the quality was very good (we wouldn't have come back otherwise). The sangria was definitively the highlight, I have never had any Sangria like this it was absolutely sublime. We were a group of 6 seating on the terrasse as luckily for us the weather was cooperating. Waitress was always there when needed and we arrived early as the other tourist arrived shortly after (as a consequence the restaurant turned out to be quite full. Wine menu was quite complementary to the food, even though I can't remember which one it was (was from the region, La Sarthe) and married up to the food quite well (light and fruity, similar to a Bourgogne even though I am not a connaisseur). Well that the good thing about France, hard to go wrong with the wine.
Oh yes, only one washroom available the second one wax on the other side of the building.
Overall if in two years we are back we are very likely to come back. read more
