Horrible... I went to return an alternator that was overcharging my battery and making a weird whining noise as well. Guy at the front was acting like I had no clue what I was talking about and was saying a store manager needed to be there then started spewing more nonsense as to why I couldn't return it. Even was saying I had bigger problems and was denying that the alternator was the issue.. then he said I had to go to the other autozone on kings rd because they had a tester to see if it was actually broken and this autozone did not. Okay. So I went to the kings rd location and not only did they return my item without any fuss, they did not even test it or doubt me, and when I told them what this dumbass said they confirmed that he was probably lying in my face as the guy that helped me return my item was not a store manager and said anyone can do it.. do not recommend coming here especially if you're a woman lmfao.. read more

I did not actually go into this Autozone location because of the four-person fistfight at the front entrance when I arrived, so this review is simply based on the cleanliness of the exterior and adequacy of the parking lot. Things seem well-maintained, and there are ample parking spaces. I was actually excited to come back to this autozone as i used to live in the neighborhood about 4-5 years ago. I'd like to begin with this: I know scumbags steel small things and try to take advantage of the "no receipt required as long as you're okay with store credit" return policy that ALL AutoZones possess. I understand. But...when a grandfather who's just trying to be hip with the times and technology, is buying me stuff for my truck all the time, this policy does come in handy! I personally don't feel like I'm taking advantage of the system, because an honest dollar was spent, just at a different AutoZone! So my grandpa got me some LED break light bulbs and turn signal bulbs. I had some already, and what I really need is primer as I'm doing a lot of body work right now. Perfect opportunity. I grabbed my primers, taking my time to Make sure I'm getting everything I need. I arrive at the counter and the tall older "gentleman" rings it all up, I put my ID down on the counter and explain what I'm doing (returning bulbs for store credit then buying primer). He responds, "would have been nice to know that at the beginning". I apologize. Then he asks for the receipt. I, again, pointing to my ID on the counter, attempt to explain their return policy to him, and before I am done, he interrupts me and says, "no receipt no return, sorry." But all the other stores... "No receipt no return. Sorry!" Is this the only store that... "No receipt No return. Sorry!" Mortified and confused I grab my bulbs and run out wondering what the hell just happened. I purchased a car battery in January 2024 and it died in May. I returned it for an exchange with with proof of purchase but they refused to accept the return because I had not given them my phone number when purchased. They insisted that all purchases must be cross reference with a phone. No phone, no return. I could not exchange my 5 month old $130 failed battery under warranty. The mud flap on my car is dangling down. A friend looked at it and told me it needed a simple plastic fastener, and any auto parts store could help me buy a replacement. I, unfortunately, chose this AutoZone to go to, because it's close to my house. One of the employees was outside finishing a cigarette, and I asked him if he could help me identify the part I needed. He took a look, and told me, "Aisle 5." I went inside to Aisle 5, where there were 40 or 50 choices for little plastic plugs. I asked another employee to help me find the one I needed. He said that it was up to me to figure it out. I asked if he could look up my car's make & model, and he said that absolutely wasn't possible. I asked if he could identify which plugs were made for my style of car, and he said no, he didn't know. I asked if I should just pick one at random and try it out, return it if it didn't fit, and keep trying until I hit something that worked. He chuckled and said, "Sure." It was the worst customer service I've experienced in a long, long time. The other employees avoided us, and carefully avoided making eye contact. I got the impression that they wanted me to leave them alone and get out of their store with my stupid problem requiring a $1.00 part. They weren't busy, or anything... just totally uninterested in helping me figure out the super-simple part I needed. I'd been told I had an exhaust leak while getting my oil changed. I took my car to a muffler shop, they said "Nope, not an exhaust leak - see this hose right here? That's broken and it's spewing oil all over your engine and that's what you're tasting in your car - take it to a mechanic." - So I did that, and the machanic looked at it and said, "Oh, we don't have any of those in stock, but AutoZone's right down the street, they can help..." - So, I walk into Autozone, and Christian B. helps me - I explain the situation, he comes out to the car, sees the problem, goes back inside, gets a hose to fit, puts it on and has me test it out, no leaks - and ** NO CHARGE ** I thought I was in for hundreds, if not more, in repairs - and this helpful guy at Autozone just fixed my car, right there in their parking lot, without charging me a cent. I even pressed him about paying and he insisted it was OK, just a hose, nothing to worry about... I'll definitely come back here whenever I need parts for our vehicles... read more

To start off, I always get excellent treatment at Auto Zone. In and out service and people who genuinely care.. Or I think they do and quite frankly they act very well so who cares. Anyway, I went into this auto zone with an out passenger headlight. Simple fix, yeah? NO! I get it. Some people don't know how to fix every headlight on every car and that is fine. I don't know how to change my own light so it's understandable that other people don't know how to change my light. But here is my problem.. I went in and I didn't get any acknowledgement at all. Cool, you're busy.. I also understand that. So I go to the headlight aisle and look through the manual that they provide and pick out my own headlights that I think are the right ones. I walk up to the counter to ask if they are and they're not. So the guy, whose name I won't mention, helped me and he didn't know anything. I buy the right lights, blah blah blah. We go outside because I asked if he could install them and he said they could. He starts to install them but he didn't know what he was doing so he told me he would grab a coworker and come back out. 20 minutes later, I call my Dad and got instructions from him over the phone because NO ONE EVER CAME BACK OUT. To say the least, I tried to go back in to wash my hands with a bathroom that had no paper towels (very petty to be mad about that but it was the icing on the cake). I come out of the bathroom to a gentlemen whose name I didn't get but he was rude and refused to give me the guy's name because "he was new and didn't know his name." This guy told me "he probably forgot" as if that was an acceptable answer. What?! He forgot?! Maybe?! Whatever!! On my way out, the gentleman who was supposed to help me was at the counter helping another customer so I got his name and said "Thanks for all your help!" before leaving pretty pissed. I read more

People rag on 'the Zone' but I'm a fan. They've always been expedient and helpful when I've gone in, clueless, looking for help on basic car repairs. I've gotten oil change supplies, spark plug supplies, had the Check Engine diagnostic and felt the employees there are pretty personable. The shop is usually well-staffed with people who can talk to you in plain English without talking down to you about your car's various plights. When you go to Walmart or some equivalent box store, you're usually on your own with employee assistance. I appreciate that Auto Zone knows what my random noises mean, what parts I might/probably need and can ballpark different estimates for projects, including what's out of my league as a n00b in terms of DIY-labor. I don't write many Yelp reviews but I had to write this one before it gets completely lost in existence. Julian went above and beyond for me today in regards to finding what I needed from the very moment I walked in and out of the store. I went in, not knowing exactly what I needed. He greeted me, asked what he could assist with and then together did a little research to what product would work best with my vehicle. I thought it was very honest and genuine that he did not try to sell me the most expensive product but something ideal that would get me by seeing that I only came in for wiper blades. We picked the most practical (budget wise and that would easily get the job done). Even being the only salesman on the floor with customers in the store he offered to come outside if I pulled my vehicle up to the nearest parking so he could install them for me. I was so pleased with my experience here I'll definitely be looking for him the next time I come in! Went there today to get my battery checked, the kid who came out barley knew how to work the machine, and then when he told me my battery was "bad" he wouldn't jump start my car so I could go anywhere else! He brought out some janky machine that's supposed to jump batteries and he barley knew how to use it. When I asked if someone inside with a car could help us out, (we had our OWN jumpers cables) and he said they were busy "working" when there was no one in the store! They just wanted to charge me 140 for a battery and had me out in their parking lot looking like a fucking fool having their customers help us out. Thanks for nothing, autozone. read more

To start off with I had serious trouble with AutoZone remanufactured starters for my car but when I went into his AutoZone which has the new one or the other locations only had remanufactured they helped me right away and for all the trouble I went through they even gave me a very nice discount especially since I drove all the way over to this location will I live in Aloha. It was a few Mix-Ups and communication but the employees in this store just smile and help me however I needed. Bad service! I waited a the checkout for over 10 mins without help. All the clerks seemed to focus on the service lines. I told a female clerk standing nearby that I'm ready. She said, "I'm with a customer right now, I'll be with you as soon as I'm done with him." When she's done with him, she immediately called the next one in the service line. I bought the wrong spark plugs online (apparently my truck has two different versions) and I didn't have a receipt. The manager here exchanged the plugs and gave me the correct ones straight across. I am utterly appalled by the manager with short dark hair and glasses at this 82nd and Duke location! He was completely rude to me. every time I started to explain what was going on with my battery he would interrupt me raise his voice and repeat the same BS every time. If he would have taken 5 second to let his customer talk he would have understood the situation.... In 2012 I bought a Duralast battery that they had a sale going on that came with a 7yr warranty(honestly the only reason I went with this Dura last battery)... When they looked up my information it said I bought the battery, returned it the same day, rebought it again then returned it the same day again then left it there... then rebought it a while later and returned it again.The battery was IN MY HANDS for the last 3yrs, it always came back with me (I still have this PoS)!! He kept saying over and over "we don't do sales on these batteries and that they NEVER come with anything but a 2YR WARRANTY"... I brought it back for a charging once and had them replace it twice because it just wasn't holding a charge... I replaced my entire charging system, alternator, regulator, etc... still nothing. When they looked up my info it had someone else's name next to mine and 4 vehicles that I definitely have never owned. He refused to listen to me. I recently brought the battery back today and ran into this extremely rude manager. So basically what I'm reading up on is that when I brought my battery back in to replace it with a new one, they didn't carry my warranty information over, but instead just had their regular 2yr warranty....SCAM! I am so livid. I have been doing business with this specific Autozone for many years and never experience this type of behavior from anyone there...ever. I honestly can say I will never do business with any Autozone ever again, and that really bums me out because I didn't just come to this auto zone because it was close. I came to it because every time I did they were very helpful and promt with getting parts for me. I strongly suggest going somewhere else. unless your into be berated by a complete jerk! Not only did no-one bother to see if I needed help, but when I went back, reciept in hand!, to return the wrong bulbs ( probably would have gotten the right ones if they spent more time with customers than in the back!) I went in for tail lights, nothing fancy...just TAIL LIGHTS. I lost the owners manual for my Jeep so the guy at the counter looked up what kind I needed, got them for me and sent me on my way. When I got home and tried to change them I found out he'd sold me the wrong kind since they didn't even fit in the socket. Luckily enough for me they are a hop, skip, and a jump away from my house so I went back in the next day for the right kind. Changed them out and went about my business. 2 nights later I am pulled over for BOTH of my tail lights being out...wtf. I went back again to the zone thinking that maybe I just got a bad pack of bulbs and proceeded to purchase my 3rd pair. These ones lasted about 3 days before they both went out again so back to Autozone I went for the 4th time. I would think that since all the same people were working and I had been in there 4 times for the same tail lights that one of them could say "Hey what's going on with your lights I see you've been in here every other day this week" but no, instead I get scoffed at in the check out line because no I don't want to buy your $1.29 fucking bulb goo because here I am being rang up for my 4TH PACK of $5.99 bulbs in a week. I put them in so I could go out without fear of being pulled over and these ones lasted about 5 blocks before they were both out. They were literally fading before my eyes. Finally I went to Baxter's and talked to them about my situation and they looked up what kind of bulbs I needed for my ride. The incompetent staff at Autozone had been selling me the wrong bulbs the entire time and could have cared less because I wouldn't buy their bulb goo. Needless to say I will never go to Autozone ever again because I'm out like $25 bucks because of their incompetent staff. How the hell do you work at an auto parts store and not be able to correctly look up what kind of LIGHT BULBS folks need?! I walked into the store, no one said hello or even payed any mind to me being in the store. I walked around for more than 20 minutes looking at different items such as coolant, steering wheel covers, anti theft devices, and jumper cables. I looked at the coolant for several minutes, even called someone to ask for advice (at this point I was the only customer in the store for the two people working). Then I walked over to the jumper cables. They were on the bottom shelf so I sat on the floor looking at them to see what kind I needed. I pulled out my phone and started googling what kind I needed. Both of the staff members then walked by me and one commented in passing that my service dog was cute. They then walked back by a minute later (while I'm still on the floor looking at the cables and my phone) and one sat at the counter eating, and the other sat at the counter on his cell phone. I finally found everything that I needed. Walked up to the counter to pay, then they finally asked if I was ready to check out. Didn't ask if I needed help or had any questions. Didn't ask if I found everything I needed. Nothing. Rang me up and I left. I was there at 4pm on Sunday April 8th. Maybe someone should have a talk about customer service with those employees. I won't be going back to that location. And I'll only go to auto zone if I have to. There are plenty of other car stores around to choose from. read more

I am totally impressed with this AutoZone. I don't know if it is company wide but at this particular store I had a fabulous experience! I went in yesterday because my rear blinker was not working. I was acknowledged immediately, and helped very quickly. The gentleman tried to look up what bulb I would need on the computer but there was no info for my type car. He asked me if I had the manual and could I bring it in the store. He went through the manual and it wasn't listed in there either. So he went out to my car and took off the cover and removed the old bulb to see what type I needed. He proceeded to get the bulb from in the store, install it, make sure it was working and put the car back together. I then went in and paid. Now that is customer service for you! read more

Spectacular. I needed to replace my Knock Sensor on my 94 Subaru Legacy. They let me borrow tools so I could do it right there in the parking lot. Their system said they had the part but they didn't end up having it. An employee (I forget his name) went to another autozone to pick up theirs so I could finish my repair. Night and day difference from the other Autozone which is 3 miles North on 82nd. The dude there seemed peeved about life. This location had very helpful guys.
