I don't know much when it comes to cars but I do know when an indicator light comes on, you better get it checked out. I drive a Toyota and it's really reliable but the check light came on and the manual said to take it to the dealer. Yikes! Also, nope. I'm not taking my 20 year old matrix to the dealer. I asked around and found out that Auto Zone does diagnostic checks and it's freeeee! Thank you Erika for the prompt, friendly service and thank you Toyota for making such great cars. So I came to this store to get a diagnosis test on a car that my family was interested in getting. I walked into the store to ask the associate to help me with the test. The man who was at the counter, unfortunately I did not get the name of him but he was a older gentleman with salt and pepper hair, gave me the device and asked me if I knew what to do. I told him no because obviously I would not ask him to come do it if I can do it myself. He did not want to come out. I've been to other auto zone shops and I've never experienced someone refuse to help me. Now I understand if he needed to watch the front due to no other staff being up front but to blatantly just give me a look as if I'm stupid should not have been an optionSo I take the machine that I don't know how to operate and ask the person who brought his car for me to check to use the machine. Once we finished, I walked into to return the machine. He connected it to the computer and just told me that the paperwork passed. He did not want to print the paperwork for me. I don't know maybe it is a bad night because I've seen too much good reviews. But next time don't be too quick to not want to help someone. read more

Whatever you do keep your receipt!! They say they can't do an even exchange on a 5qt jug Valvoline oil 5-20 to 5-30 without the date it was purchased or the receipt. Can't look it up via the rewards number, nor the credit card used. Tried to tell me too bad, but ended up doing the exchange trying to scold me for not having the receipt. It might just be the folks working behind the counter. Anyway O'reillys is across the street and can look up anything purchased via the phone. They will get my Buisness from now on. read more

I went to AutoZone on Capitol and Western in San Pedro to buy replacement bulbs for my front lights. Isabel helped me and she was knowledgeable, patient and competent. She asked me about the make, model, and year built for my Golf, went outside to check my car to see which light bulbs were burnt out and she immediately found the correct bulbs and returned to my car and efficiently replaced the light bulbs. I'd like to recommend this Autozone to everyone. I've been to a lot of auto parts stores and have never been greeted and helped in this manner. As soon as I entered the store, Santiago happily greeted me and asked if I needed any assistance. I was there looking for a Low bean headlight for my vehicle. He quickly asked the name and make of my vehicle and we went outside to determine what light bulb I needed. He double checked the computer and offered me his recommendation. I bought the bulbs and when he inspected my car, he realized it was a bit difficult to install due to a panel that was blocking the light bezel. After I paid. He offered to install not one but both of my light bulbs for me and did it in a friendly and helpful matter. I highly recommend this AutoZone and Santiago. 5 star service. I was in need of a car battery quick. I called and Santiago gave me a quick quote on 2. They were more reasonable then O'Reilly which is down the street. So I jumped in my car, purchased the battery and my car died in the parking lot! Ugh. Santiago helped me with out any hesitation! Put the battery in for me (he did not have to do that but I was stuck) gave me my refund on the old battery and I was on my way. I will not get car parts any where else. Absolutely 5 stars!!! I called around 3pm and was able to speak to Santiago who was very helpful! He was able to locate the battery that I needed specifically for my jeep and was able to put it on hold until 8 Pm. Keep in mind it's one hour before closing by then and Ronnie the other associate went above and beyond and was able to go ahead and install my new battery! If it wasn't for them two I'm sure the situation I was unfortunately stuck in would've been a lot worse but they made it very easy for me! Great experience at this place. Car wouldn't start after work so had to get it jumped. Drove straight here and they checked battery for free. Found out that battery was great just needed to clean corrosion off one of the terminals. Recommended a good cleaner and I was on my way. My partner and I stopped by here tonight around 7pm, because we needed to get him a new brake light. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the gentleman that helped us, but he went above and beyond. He helped us look up what bulb we needed, and then went outside and helped my partner install it and make sure it was working. We both really appreciated that he went above and beyond, and was both equally extremely friendly and helpful in installing the light. I personally have gone to many auto parts places and received very rude service, but I would definitely go out of my way to come to this location because of the great service and how helpful they are. read more

My car was making a clanking noise so I decided to go ahead and go to AutoZone to get some oil. When I walked in I was politely greeted by an employee whose name is Rosell. He was very helpful and polite, he helped me pick out an oil that was best for my truck and was very attentive and concerned about my situation. He walked outside with me to check my oil and he realized that it was very low so he went ahead and poured oil in my truck. After a little while he said to turn on the car to check if the oil was set and he checked the oil gauge a few times until he saw that it was flowing. After a few minutes the clacking noise completely went away. I drove off and my car felt much better. Rosell was super helpful as was the other gentleman that rang me up. I will definitely be going back to this AutoZone. It's amazing to know that there's somewhere I can go to and people will care. Thank you again Rosell! read more

I went here to get a battery a few weeks ago. Santiago provided excellent service. He asked if the car was covered under any agreement and requested that I call the service center to make sure if he installed the battery - as opposed to the techs at the service center where I would have had to buy it (lotta $$) - the electronics would not be impacted. Only after that did he feel comfortable proceeding. I'm not entirely sure that would have happened at another auto parts store; a sale is a sale. His care was very much appreciated and we will be doing business with Santiago as long as he is there. read more
