I didn't look at what I was handed by the store clerk, which I'm at fault for not checking before leaving the store. Once I got home, I discovered I had been given the basic Sylvania bulb, which sells for about $31 online. I paid for a premium product but was handed a cheaper one instead. I'd definitely double check what you're getting at this store, It seems they may try to swap for the cheaper product if you're not knowledgeable. If a customers pay for a specific product, they should receive the exactly what they ordered. This experience has made me question the accuracy and quality control of Advance Auto Parts' online pickup process, and the integrity of the employees. I won't be using this location again.

Extremely disappointed with my experience at this O'Reilly location. I went into the store simply…read moreto have my battery tested because I was having an issue with my 2013 Mercedes-Benz S550. I was not asking them to replace my battery or perform any major work. During the battery testing process, part of my battery/connection was damaged. When I brought the issue to their attention, the staff and manager did not want to take responsibility or even acknowledge that they may have caused the damage. Even worse, the manager directly accused me of lying about the situation and what had happened to my vehicle. I found that extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Instead of trying to inspect the problem and help resolve it, I was essentially told to stay out of the store and contact corporate. What started as a simple request to test my battery turned into a much bigger problem. My vehicle ended up with absolutely no power -- no lights, no electronics, and I couldn't even lock the car. I did exactly what I was told and contacted corporate, but unfortunately they were not much help either. I was basically told that they could address the one cable that was damaged, but that the rest of the problem was my responsibility. That is extremely frustrating considering I came into the store for a simple battery test and left with a much bigger issue. I understand that mistakes can happen, but what matters is how a business handles them. Instead of taking the situation seriously, investigating what happened, and working with me toward a solution, I was accused of lying, told to stay out of the store, and then sent to corporate. Corporate ultimately did not provide a solution for the full problem either. Very poor customer service from both the store and corporate. I came in for a simple battery test and ended up dealing with a damaged connection, a vehicle with no power, being accused of lying, and being left responsible for the rest of the problem. This was an extremely frustrating experience.

UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE!…read more Mike Smeckert, the Assistant Service Manager, Wade and the sweet gal (sorry, I forgot her name) that helped us with honoring our warranty - What incredible service you gave us! I haven't received this caliber of service since I owned my Cadillac. When we picked up our vehicle after you took care of our warranty items, the exterior was not only washed but the inside was vacuumed and may have been wiped down. Again, that is how my Cadillac was returned to me when it was serviced. And, not only did you help us with our warranty items, you fixed the pulsating brakes we mentioned! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We attempted to have our car serviced at Milne Ford and received ZERO service. We originally took our vehicle there due to the proximity to our home. From the very beginning, they tried to back out of every warranty need we had. Our experience at Milne uncovered lies they gave as their reason they "couldn't" (more like wouldn't) honor our warranty items. Honestly, I can't believe they can get away with something like that. When we picked up our vehicle from Milne Ford, it was filthy, inside and out. They had left the back hatch open and a lot of debris (cotton wood from trees) had flown in and was all over the car. Even though Crest Ford is farther away from our home, we will continue to bring any service needs to you. Again, THANK YOU!

He tried to tell me I was past my 18 month warranty when in fact I still had 29 days left on it. Then he had to test the battery just to make sure it was dead. There are two kinds of auto parts stores. The first and more prevalent is the national chain store…read moreinside an instafab building staffed with indifferent employees trained to look up parts in the computer and deliver them from the back room. They do not have scarred knuckles or dirty finger nails and they most certainly do not know the difference between a limited slip differential and a Knutson valve. These places are endlessly frustrating for customers who know what they're doing. Then there are the other kinds of auto parts stores. The rare business run by competent professionals who have seen everything, turned many a wrench in anger and know exactly how to fix the rotted kickdown mechanism on your beaten-up clunkbucket. This is Hastings. Walking in, the store is large and open with a the right mix of tools, fluids, consumables and floor stock to get easier jobs done, no barrage of frou-frou garbage to shine your car tires, no tweety-bird floor mats, no bullet-hole decals. As you walk to the prominent service counter you notice a comforting odor of WD40 and engine oil, think of it as a sign. These guys get straight to the point, provide insight and help on questions you have, often everything you need in stock by a quality brand and at competitive pricing. What sends this place over the top is in the back though. There you'll find one of the most competent and speedy machine shops you'll ever have need of. Swap out some bushings? Ten minutes. New wheel bearings pressed in? Overnight. The machine shop alone is reason enough to frequent Hastings.

This used to be my go to location for tire rotations and for new tire purchases. This last visit…read moreJuly 30th 2025 I booked a tire rotation a few days ahead of time online. They looked over the tires first and told me I needed a new lug nut for my front passenger tire. I asked how much for a new lug nut would be and they said $90. I politely declined after checking the prices online and said there's nothing wrong with the lug nut but there's something wrong with trying to price gouge. They go for less than $20 at auto part stores. They then refused to rotate the tires because it puts their staff "in danger". I left and went over to the Discount Tire on 14 Mile in Troy. They had me in and out in 25 minutes and when I asked about the lug nut in question they said there's nothing wrong with any of them. Sadly I cannot recommend Discount Tire in Centerline because of their dishonest business practices.
