The first issue was while torquing the timing guide bolt on the top front right of the head. Torque specs say 64 ft lbs but I never got past 50 when the threads in the head gave out and totally stripped. I made it work and found a work around that will eventually need another repair. I finished the job and the car ran better than ever, then the oil leak started. I hadn't noticed it but the tensioner tightens down to a circle hole on the rear of the engine much like the timing chain bolt. This time the circle had a notch cut all the way across it and because the tensioner is hydraulic the oil just poured out the whole and sprayed back down the engine. The tensioner failed and the timing chain skipped. Luckily, we caught it and did not lose the engine . I notice a picture I have when I unboxed the head on my kitchen table and installed the exhaust manifold. There it was plain as day, Straight out the box. That was a costly problem in both time and money. Car runs great but they should've caught that and may have caused it. I will definitely not use them again and will do a much better inspection in the future. These issues would have been easier to address and much less costly before install.
