Over the past 6 years, I've consistently taken two different vehicles (one older one and a new one) to these guys and they have always saved me significant money and done perfect work with quality parts as far as I can tell. People ask my why I take my vehicles to mechanics in Longmont when I live in Boulder, and this story illustrates exactly why:
This week I took my newer truck in for a combination of scheduled maintenance and other minor work (replace timing belt and water pump and replace steering bushings on both sides) that the dealer estimated over $2200.00 for and another local mechanic estimated $2000 for. Autowrench estimated $1650 and while I won't say what they charged me in the end, it was WELL under half what the dealer estimated! This was after they hunted around to find bushings for the right side of the rack and pinion system, which a dealer will ONLY sell to you if you buy the rack as well (which I didn't need).
Another thing I think is important is that they have never condescended to me, attempted to charge me for unneeded services, or done anything off because I'm a woman, which I have had happen at Midas, Meineke, and a couple of local mechanics. They also have never hesitated to tell me if something didn't need to be done yet, saving me quite a bit of money over time.
One thing to know is that they don't have a waiting area, so expect to walk a few blocks for your cup of coffee while you wait.
I've recommended these guys to many friends and will definitely continue to do so! read more
