took our car in to get an estimate. They called and said it was $2500. 2 weeks later they called and said it would be $6000. We reached out to insurance and they would not pay for Mercedes parts-- so we made the decision to transfer our car to another shop. Autowerks then tried to extort $6000 in "storage fees" from us, because they had taken our car apart despite the fact that the work was never approved. I have owned Rovers since 1975 and also Jags & MB's. It was a battle with the insurance company, but I held my ground and in the end it was a perfect job well done. Sorry about the deer that jumped in from of me. The modern RR is a very sophisticated vehicle and requires a shop that knows how to bring it back to life. I first called the other referral (actually much closer to home) but THEY were rude, unresponsive, and insistent that I had to pony up a several 100 $ "deposit in case the offending insurance doesn't cover all repairs..."WWhhaatt??? They worked directly with Geico, who tried to lowball the repair of our Mercedes.... they got the correct estimate approved and repaired in the time they quoted. They called us every step along the way to keep us informed. We never wondered where we were in the Process. Ok, the best part. They basically detailed our car in and out when we went to pick it up. i would caution anybody about taking the cars here for repairs, not because their work is not good, upon that I cannot comment, rather because their customer integrity leaves much to be desired. My parents, both in their 80's, had an accident and the car had to be taken to Autowerks where we dealt with Michael. On the surface the dealings were more than amicable until it came to the insurance challenges. Geico were the covering insurance company and it's quite obvious there is an issue between them and Autowerks. How this impacted my parents is still beyond me. They paid their deductible and then Autowerks became more and more complicated to work with, with 9 or so supplemental bills being given to insurance. After having to get involved to assist my folks we ended up with acrimony all round between those repairing the car and some challenges which had to be referred to attorneys. Eventually the car was completed and then Autowerks claimed Geico had short paid them just under $500 and claimed that my mom and dad had agreed to pay any difference - this is simply not true. I would imagine had that been the case one would expect such an agreement to be in writing between the repairer and those insured and I am yet to see anything of the sort. Notwithstanding that, Autowerks refused to release the car until my parents paid this difference, whereas in fact it should have been an issue they resolved between themselves and Geico. I feel absolutely disgusted that an ostensibly reputable company would take advantage of elderly folk but its pretty clear that this is what happened. So whilst their work might be good, I would work with them cautiously so you don't land up paying for work that is not your responsibility. I have no doubt Autowerks will again claim this is part of their agreement with my parents but thats simply not true, we even suggested to split this difference and my parents pay half and Autowerks the other purely as a gesture of good faith, but that was ignored. So here is a review of a company I would steer away from, we are now assessing an independent insurance assessment of all the work done to see if in fact Autowerks overcharged the insurance company too...that would land up costing them more than half of what they charged my parents anyway and would probably be poetic justice. That is now with the attorneys but I figure that's probably worth a look... Reading other reviews it does appear their work is good but that overcharging is nothing new for them so tread cautiously if this is your choice that you unfortunately have to use. read more

10/3/2022 A couple weeks ago I stopped by Autowerks in my neighborhood to ask if they could replace burned out car headlight. I explained that I took my car to a SW Nissan dealership and they wanted to replace the whole headlight assembly. I knew it was just a burned out headlight. The tech at Autowerks confirmed this. He told me if I got the part he would install the new headlight...gratis It took him less than 5 minutes to replace it. I am so grateful for the kind gesture. He saved me an exorbitant amount of money for work that wasn't necessary. I agree with a previous comment that these guys are the best Auto Shop that I have ever worked with. Not only are they competent in every way, they went over and above what I would hope for. This is the 3rd time I have used their services and my car came out looking terrific. Having your vehicle get hit can be stressful but these guys are the people to see to make everything better. Michael is a pro, and I thought everyone I met there was an outstanding person that gave excellent customer service. They know how to fix your car and repair the damages. My car was not a Mercedes, and it does not matter. This is one place where it pays to be patient and wait however long it takes. You can be sure they are the best. Let's just start with the facts. They said my vehicle would be repaired by the 16th, it was not ready until the 22nd, the estimate came in $1700 over and the mirror they replaced was the wrong one. The work looks fine and we got the correct mirror a week or so later. What is the most frustrating is the attitude of the shop. I was updated constantly via text that my repair was on time and due by the 16th. When I called on the 16th, this mind you is at about 3 pm, to check that my car was ready I was told it was not ready but would be ready the next day. The next day comes and I call again to ask if its ready and again I am told it will be the next day. This goes on past the weekend. Not once did the shop call me to tell me the car would either be ready of not. When I finally had enough after 5 days and started complaining the sales person acted like I was being a unreasonable. Just a side note I had a hard time getting to talk to the sales person too, he was busy two out of the three times I called and never called me. I was told it is frequent that the car is not ready at the "estimated time". I was also told that the estimates are also frequently over what is quoted and "why do I care if the insurance company has no problem with it". Apparently the insurance company rep and this company were very buddy buddy because the insurance company saw fit to share an email I sent them asking what I could do and that they should not be recommending this shop. If you want you car to take longer in the shop, come in at a higher price and have a "customer service rep" imply your being unreasonable for complaining then this is the place for you. I gave them two stars because the actual work looks fine but the frustration might not be worth it. read more

I had a bit of a fender-bender, ruined the bumper on my '06 Honda Ridgeline, and scratched up the paint. I brought in my truck to Autowerks NW on the recommendation of my mechanic,Tom Dwyer Automotive(also great). Autowerks did a fantastic job. They replaced the front fender. The paint looks, if anything, better than the factory original. They even sent me home with some extra touch up paint. : ) My contact was Mike Sy, and he was very easy to deal with, and seems to be a hell of a nice guy. Use at your own risk. My wife's Land Rover was hit, and this is the shop I was referred to. Waited a month to get in. They fixed the fender fine, but when I showed up to collect the car the dash was damaged. The stitching was split in two places, and the leather was peeling. When I asked they tried to tell me it was like that when they got it. I called BS as I detail the car every week and would have noticed the problem long before it got that bad. Their response was, "well, we're not buying you a new dash". My word against theirs with no before pictures so they basically told me to pound sand. Was referred to Autowerks by another shop. Went here and immediately got the feeling that I was inconveniencing the receptionist. The guy whom was to assess the damage and write up an estimate kept saying that his quote would be pointless and that my insurance was only going to write their own making his useless. Everything he said had a clear annoyed tone about it. As he handed me the estimate he reiterated that the quote was useless. I asked if he would take photos of the damage and send those with the quote to my insurance and he said "No." That I had to as my insurance was going to undercut him anyway. Ok...what? Why is this man so irritated about something that has not and may not happen? He did not smile even once and was not engaging me when doing the assessment. I didn't expect that we become best friends but come on. They lost my business and any future business today. I'll find another shop to go to, thank you very much. read more

The service was terrible, front desk ladies are not the nicest, actually kind of rude. Lenny the person assigned to me NEVER returned calls. Constantly had to call to get a status on my car; I was told it would be ready on a specific date then something would happen and Lenny "Let me check with my parts guy" and of course would never call back. Had my car in the shop for almost two months, about 7 weeks (to be fair, lots of car accidents because of the snow storm). The work looks good, but I expect good service and good work. I would not take my car here again nor would I recommend it. read more

Horrible customer service. They were recommended by Mercedes. My car was Supposed to be fixed in five days it took them 16 days. When I went to pick up my car I saw two scratches on my driver side door. I told them about it they said it was there when I drop it off. when you could clearly see it was a new scratch. I asked to talk to the manager and they said he's not here and they don't want to give me his phone number. I wish I could give a -5 stars. This is the worst experience I ever had. read more

it took 2 weeks longer than I had expected but my car looked amazing after I got it back. One minor problem that I hadn't noticed right away will be straightened out as soon as I can get the truck back in to them for a few minutes. As I write this review, I am sitting out in the parking lot waiting to pick up my car, which I expect, no doubt, will be pristine. Sadly, though, I have learned something about the company while sitting outside just now. I learned about the young people that they hire to move the cars. I just witnessed a young man move a gold Mercedes like a bat out of hell. The young man could have killed a small child by the reckless manner in which he moved the car. The insurance company told me to go here and I have had a bad experience. After repairs were complete, I had to take the car back in for repair three times. The trunk was filling up with rainwater after they returned it to me. It took 3 seperate return trips for them to fix the trunk leaks. Each time they said the leaks were fixed. Their fixes consisted of putty and foam tape so we will see how long it lasts. Go somewhere else if you value your time. read more

I was told this was a great body shop, so I waited over two months to get in. The repair took longer than expected. The email updates we erroneous. I literally called 10 times to ask questions, only ONCE was my call returned when I picked up the vehicle as scheduled, the extra worked that was agreed upon for an up charge was not completed. Within 24 hour the back up sensors in the bumper they had replaced quit working an an error was sent to my control panel. When I called them and informed them of the issue they told me it was likely a loose connection. When I arrived they acted as if they didn't remember talking to me. They REFUSED to check the connection and denied having replaced the bumper. I was told, "This is not our problem, if you want help call your insurance company". They lie and do not stand behind their work. I took my vehicle to NAPA Auto repair where I have my oil changed. They fixed the problem in less than 25 minutes at no charge. NEVER AGAIN! Save yourself the headache and go somewhere with a better reputation. read more

I have never had such poor treatment from a car body shop. Ever. I was originally told the fix would take "3-4 days." Over a week later I was still driving a rental car. I asked where the delayed part was and was assured it was "in transit" from Germany to Mercedes Benz in Wilsonville and that the Autowerks guy had "just spoken with the Parts Department Manager over there" and that the delayed part was "in transit." Oddly, I had just been on the phone with the Parts Department Manager at Mercedes Benz Wilsonville and was told they had not received a call from Autowerks. The Parts Department Manager at Mercedes Benz Wilsonville (MBW) told me that according to HIS computer, the same screen all the people at MBW can see, the part had not even shipped yet from Germany. It was back-ordered. According to the protracted schedule the Parts Department Manager at MBW and I worked out, based on the actual availability of the part, my car would not be finished for another 2-3 weeks! I called AutowerksNW and told them I wanted my car back immediately and that I would take it to another shop to get the work done. When I went to pick up my car from AutowerksNW, they held my keys captive and demanded my deductible. I felt I had no choice. They would not let me have my car back unless I paid them. I paid him the $500 that was my deductible and the AutowerksNW guy said, "I have to get paid something for it." I took my keys and I will never EVER go back there again. read more

Summary: Autowerks made technical and managerial mistakes when repairing our car. I was willing to pay what I considered a steep price (~$5,000) for a fender-bender and expected superior service. Instead my car was returned with a part falling off -- literally. My car suffered from a fender bender. The initial estimate was ~$3,000. Since Autowerks was recommended from our garage / car dealer, we accepted. Autowerks reassessed the estimate to $5,000 while working on the car. When we picked up the car, the new bumper looked crooked and the xenon washer light cover fell simply off. I expected them to apologize and bend backwards to repair the embarrassing mistakes. Instead, I had to argue with the young sales man and ask to see the management. They ultimately agreed grudgingly to repair the falling off part and asked me to pick up the car another day. No apologies were offered. A few days later, we picked up the car. The Xenon light washer seemed to operate okay. We paid the full price of ~$5,000. A few months later the Xenon light washer cover fell off again. When I called Autowerks, they pointed out that the cover was never part of the original estimated or the revised estimate and that they will not commit to repair it. After a rather angry phone call, neither my wife nor I have the stomach to return to Autowerks. read more

I was directed to Auto Werks by the Range Rover Dealership as they do all their body work. I was rear ended on I5 by a small BMW who unfortunately did major damage to his car, but hardly anything to my RR; just an issue with a trip piece. My estimator at Auto Werks was able to use his hand strength to reattach the trim piece and totally fixed the issue. I was surprised when he did an inspection of the whole car, just in case, and kindly removed what I thought were paint dings but turned out to be road tar. When I left my car looked 10 times better than before. Luv these guys. Will definitely remember their great service. read more

I have had very good service in the past with Autowerks but this last visit was extremely disappointing. My cars repairs were delayed for various reasons including late parts delivery, damaged parts that showed up and what was scheduled for 5 days turned into 3+ weeks. I was told no compensation could be given as it "was not their fault". I appreciate great customer service and companies taking ownership of both the bad or good regardless if they were directly responsible.
