AutoEuropa Italy (Sicily)is by far the worst car company I ever rented with. I did not book with…read morethem directly. It was advertised as a Fox car rental, but when I disembarked in Bologna, Italy, it turned out that this mafia run company is partnered with them. One month after I returned the car the company charged my credit card for over $850 for repairing cracked windshield and some minor scratch on the wheel cover. There was no crack in the windshield when I returned the car. This was a straight out lie. They mailed me grainy photos of the supposedly cracked windshield and, in my opinion, a fake bill from a repair shop that is probably run by some cousin of the owner. The company waited over three months they email me a police report about two minor traffic violations. They charged me Euro 50 + 22% VAT for their untimely processing each of the reports. Their tardiness/laziness/incompetence/crookedness cost me additional approx. Euro 100 in late fees for non-payment of those traffic violations. Moreover, the company did not respond to any emails send to their customer service (that has changed lately when I started complaining online). In my opinion, AutoEuropa is not a car rental company but a criminal enterprise: Their business model is to falsely accuse a customer of damage (not on the spot when you return the car, but later) and then charge customer's credit card for "repairs". And if your bank is complicit to their scam, there is not much you can do. Avoid at any cost! Don't rent with Fox (AutoEuropa) in Italy! Moreover, if you do happen to get a ticket in Italy, expect to pay at least double of the original cost, as they are not in a hurry to notify you about it, but will happily charge your credit card for their crappy service. There are many complains about this company online. Just google "Auto Europa reviews." In my case, as mentioned above, I didn't know that I am booking a car with AutoEuropa Italy/Sicily. I did my booking through Expedia with Fox rent-a-car. Only at the airport in Bologna, I learned that in fact my booking was with AutoEuropa. When I complained to Fox about them, I was told that they have nothing to do with AutoEuropa (except for, apparently, taking a cut for the bookings) and that they (Fox) have "no way of contacting them because AutoEuropa are too far"( FYI, Fox headquarters are in CA). BEWARE OF THESE THIEVING SCAMMERS B-RENT!…read more On 19th April 2023 I booked a car with B-RENT. At the time of the booking I paid 270 EUR with a DEBIT CARD ISSUED ON MY NAME AS REQUESTED BY THE COMPANY / POLICY. On the 1st June 2023 after a long trip we finally made it to Cagliari airport, sure that we are going to have our car. However, upon pickup, the booking was refused, because we did not have a credit card. So, even though B-RENT was only too happy to charge the deposit on my DEBIT card, they refused that very card to complete the payment, saying they only accepted credit cards (?!) - I want to stress here that my card had enough money to cover the booking and the holding safety deposit for the car. Now, I can't help but thinking that this lack of consistency is misleading and fraudulent to say the least. If you accept my debit card (i.e. you charge me 270 EUR in April) then you can't refuse that very same card at pick up. I couldn't help but notice, that the two (very unfriendly) agents at the desk were arguing with every client there, and for some flimsy reason or another, were refusing cars to everyone. Morale of the story, THEY ROBBED US OF 270 EUR and DID NOT GIVE US ANY CAR, leaving me and my partner stranded there even though I had booked my car 2 months in advance. Thank God we didn't have a child with us! A special mention goes to MARIA, THE DESK AGENT - she was rude, obnoxious, unhelpful and unable to own up TO THE COMPANY'S FAULT. It is hard for me believe that this is not A SCAM, where they charge people for their deposits, but then don't release the cars. P.S. I attempted to call customer service but absolutely nothing was done at their end, actually cutting off my call halfway through. STAY AWAY FROM B-RENT, THEY ARE THIEVES AS WE GOT CHARGED 270 EUR FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
