Dropped car off, they didn't ask for anything except for owner name. No cell number. Nothing. I walked over to bbq joint got drink came straight back. 10 minutes total.went to waiting room where I set for 20 minutes. Jason Preuitt set across from me at his desk . Salesman sat behind him. His dad was also there I literally watched them pull my car in the shop. Jason still setting at his desk. They fix the problem and tell me it's not covered. Jason Preuitt said he looked for me and couldn't find me and i was in the same room as he was. So he made the call to fix it called me a liar because I didn't tell him I went to bbq joint. Regardless of I went there or not. He saw me in the waiting room but continued to fix car . He never said one word to me while in waiting room. I probably would have just let it go. I brought my 1965 Ford F-350 to this shop last year based on the recommendation of someone I…read moretrusted. I brought the truck in to repair existing oil leaks, including the rear seal, install new tires, and perform additional mechanical work. Approximately 200 miles after leaving the shop, the truck suffered an oil-pump failure and became inoperable. The shop had put synthetic oil in the engine, and my current mechanic has identified additional concerns with the work that was performed, including issues with the oil-pump gaskets and other workmanship. I have documentation of the original work, invoices, photographs, and the subsequent repairs and findings from my mechanic. I have attempted to resolve this directly with the shop and have asked them to cover the repairs related to the work I believe caused or contributed to the damage. At this point, they have been unwilling to do so. I brought my truck to them in good faith and expected it to be returned to me in reliable condition. Instead, I have incurred significant additional repair and transportation expenses. I am willing to share the shop's response as well as the documentation supporting my concerns. I would much rather have resolved this directly and fairly than post a negative review. Until this matter is resolved, based on my experience, I would recommend exercising caution before having a classic or vintage vehicle serviced here.

My husband called Lake City Auto after 2pm & explained the issue. "Bring it right on in. I'll get the parts ordered while you get here. We'll get you done this afternoon." was what he was told. And, that's exactly what occurred!! We pulled in; they pulled our truck into a service bay; and, less than 1 hour later and at a very fair price, we were rolling. Thanks, Lake City Auto for prompt, reasonably priced repairs that saved our weekend. We'll be back next time we need service.

From start to finish, the experience was smoother than I expected, especially for a repair this significant. Holly was absolutely phenomenal. She kept us informed every step of the way, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made what could have been a very stressful situation feel so much more manageable. George did the actual work on the car and clearly took great care of it. In fact, his thoroughness extended beyond the repair itself. He caught a potentially serious mistake from a recent oil change at another shop, an incorrectly installed O-ring that was causing a Class 3 oil leak. The rest of the office staff were also a pleasure to deal with. Owning a German car means you need a shop you can trust, not just one that says they can do the work. From day one, we felt confident my car was in the right hands. They diagnosed the issue quickly, had a quote ready, and provided documentation to back it up. When my husband wanted to pause on ordering parts so his dad could take a look first, they were completely accommodating, no pushback at all. His dad confirmed the diagnosis within a minute of looking at it. Pricing was in line with what I found online for this repair on my specific car. We are so happy with the results and have likely found our shop for the long haul, regular maintenance included. Holly deserves special recognition. She treated us like people, not just a ticket, and I genuinely felt she was our advocate from start to finish. She is exactly the kind of employee who makes a shop's reputation. George's thoroughness spoke for itself. Even just reading his notes on the invoice and inspection report made it clear we were in knowledgeable hands. They are the reason we will be back.

My friend attempted to deescalate the situation by changing the subject, and Jon appeared to calm down. However, a few hours later, Jon called me directly, demanding to know who my friend was. He accused him of taking photos of employees and the shop, which supposedly created an "issue." I explained that my friend was authorized by me to check on the car (which does not negate his contractual obligation to me nor pose harm to him) in my absence and that it was not illegal to take photos. Jon then claimed I was harassing them and said I could come pick up my car. By this time, my car had been in their possession for over two months. I explained that all I wanted was a working vehicle. He accused me of blackmail, claiming that Alabama is a "volunteer state" and that he was not obligated to do the work. I clarified I was not threatening legal action as a form of blackmail but rather as a last resort for them following through with their obligations--I simply wanted a resolution. He said he'd speak with Mike and call me the next day. That phone call left me shaken. I have never been treated this way by a business. I no longer feel safe going to their location alone.
