My college student had her car towed there in Oct d/t noise when in motion that started suddenly toward the end of a 5h drive. We were told it was the engine and would cost thousands of dollars to repair. The car was there for a week while we, out of state parents, were deciding how to proceed. We decided to tow it back to Ohio and were hit with surprise storage fees that had not been disclosed (The car was towed there... So they may have a sign posted, but storage fees x4 days were never disclosed via written or verbal communication). Back in Ohio, we had the car checked out by a trusted mechanic (who we would've used to repair the engine if that had been his recommendation). It is not the engine. It was loose lug nuts on a tire. Andrew is a really great mechanic he's honest and will tell you when you don't really need the work done to you're vehicle, but when you do it's really affordable. I had him do a tune up on my very old used junker that ran terribly and you could really feel and hear the difference. If he doesn't know the exact way to diagnose the craziest problem, he researches it until he has the answer, and solves it----EVEN ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS!! I had questions concerning my 2016Sportage SUV's so I called and spoke with Andrew the owner of Auto Motion I ask him about past brakes that were installed by a St Joseph local garage. ? Did he feel those brakes and calibers have been needing to be replaced at low 32,000 miles? Couple other ?'s with the brake job were asked. I asked him about gas mileage as it seems poor than exoected.. He gave me his thoughts on that. He suggested I continue to drive, monitor, take note with how quickly and easily I was able to break, do a record keeping on milage at fill up and milage at reoccuring fill ups. He suggested I monitor any sluggishness when starting, during driving etc. He would hate to see me have his garage or another tear down to see certain possible causes if really end result being money spent and no improvement just money spent. I feel 100 % that if you have ?'s about your vehicle that a call to Andrew 1st would be a wise choice. Thank you Andeew for your time, suggestions. Automotion is all about customer service and technical expertise. My car overheated on the way home from base, and I was stuck! It was after hours, but Andrew still took the time to make sure I got my Jeep diagnosed that night and that I got home safely. He also took the time to discuss my particular engine and what I need to look out for in the future. The next day he fixed the car first thing, right on the estimate, and I was good to go. Yeah I don't know where these great reviews came from, I assume little old ladies and little old men with full coverage insurance... but I went in for a simple radiator replacement, my car came out with symptoms it did not have going in. 1) the hood wouldn't close unless it was slammed very hard after he changed the radiator 2) Everything felt very loose around the radiator, some screws were even missing 3) All the sudden my "car is leaking oil, better get that fixed soon" which I'm sure is the classic "ahh more business for me" tactic used by so many sheisty mechanics. 4) The radiator he installed was found by myself online for very cheap, under $100, http://prntscr.com/js8rlp yet he charged me around $800 for "parts and labor" which I guarantee labor took less than 1 hour. 5) Car was misfiring on one piston (coil was bad) 6) Greasy spot with finger prints around a bolt on the valve cover that wasn't there before (probably why it's leaking oil now, he broke the gasket seal by loosening the valve cover gasket) I had my girlfriend's car taken into this place around the same time for a power steering pressure hose: http://prntscr.com/js8sij He tried to charge me $400 for the part and $400 for the labor, I told him what I had found online, he said he would call me back, and whaddya know, like magic he gave me a better price. The hilarity is that what he reduced in price for the part, he raised in labor cost to make up the difference so I still wound up paying $800! I told him I was "calling around to get prices" and this guy went into full blown salesman mode on the phone assuring me that his prices were the absolute best, even in high competition areas like Niles/SouthBend... It felt shady walking into this place and even more shady walking out...I suppose if you have full coverage insurance this might be a good place to go but I had to pay cash out of pocket, this guy charges $90/hour for labor. My car is still leaking oil and I am absolutely not taking it back to this place! read more

Yet again Andrew has found a way to exceed my expectations. I had my brakes changed a little over a year ago, and recently they started to make noises. This weekend Andrew replaced all the brakes all around UNDER WARRANTY! I did not pay a dime for brand new brakes. Andrew is very knowledgeable and has never made me second guess his opinion. Came across Andrew when I was looking for a Acura technician on Craigslist in Southwest Michigan. At the time I was looking for answers to my questions, and seldom do you find people willing to go out of there to way to answer all of your questions. Mind you this is without charging anything. Now that he has opened up is own shop he has done all of major service work, taken my Acura TL for a 105K tune up, soon going back in for parking brake cable replacement, shoes, front brakes and rotors, shocks and struts, sway bar links, sway bars. There is no problem him and his team can not tackle. Truly a customer service driven business, would recommend Auto-motion to anyone and been doing so. Now that I am moving to the east coast, going to miss Andrew and his shop. Hope to find somebody as trustworthy as Andrew. Wish these guys all the best for the future!!! read more

Highly recommend Auto Motion. I have been taking my 1998 Honda Accord to Auto Motion for a few years and every time I drop it off I tell Andrew to check everything and let me know what, if any, repairs are needed. If he finds something in need of repair he always provides options with associated costs, and lets me make the final decision...many times talking me out of the more expensive repair. Who does that?? No other repair facility I know. One time I even received a diagnosis via text from Andrew when my check engine light came on while I was on the Toll Road in East Chicago on my way home from Michigan. When the light came on I exited the Toll Road, sent Andrew a text, and within 2 minutes he responded and as able to explain the issue. I was out of state for vacation when my friend let me know my check engine light came on. Not the best feeling let me tell you. I found these guys on Yelp and had my friend take the car over to them. At first I was weary of the quotes I was getting but after talking to Andrew he assured me that they would do the best they can for a fair price (and let me say as a woman it is sooo nice to not feel taken advantage of when I'm dealing with my car). Boy did he come through and had my car done that day!!!! Can we say AMAZING, the results I got from his team were just what I needed to ease my mind while I was out of state. Automotion once again has done it again. After reading the posts I decided to check Automotion out. My first time there I just received a simple oil change and Andrew was amazing. He explained to me the difference between the types of Motor oil that can be used in my car and what is best. This time I needed another oil change and had noticed a noise in the car. So, I took my car back to Andrew and I needed Brakes for my car. Not only did he diagnose the problem quickly he took the brakes apart showed me the problem that needed to be fixed and explained to me exaclty what he was fixing and what he steps he was going to take to fix the problem. Not being a car savy person but wanting to know where my money was going Andrew did just that and answered all of my questions with answers and pointing out what was wrong and why and once the new parts arrived he showed them to me so I could see the new parts. I Just learned about AutoMotion from my Mother in law telling me what a great place it was when she knew i was looking for a new mechanic. This place did not disappoint. The Owner (Andy) and staff (Don) were extremely friendly and helpful right off the bat and made sure to keep in contact with me while working on my car. Everything was in a timely manner and at a great price and Andy gave great details on what was done as far as what was wrong and what he did to fix it. He included pictures of what the issues looked like before he did the work and showed me the parts that he had replaced. I had a lot of work done so i checked the pricing on all the parts that i needed online and compared them to the prices the shop charged and everything was near wholesale, so I could not ask for a better deal on pricing. The labor was also well below what I expected due to the vast number of issues with my car. I'm more than happy and have recently dropped off my wife's van for some much needed repairs.
